A real eye opener

Reading this story was an eye opener for me in regards to what I've gone through in my own life with someone I love. Chris and Susie's story made a lot of things I've struggled with clear. I know now I'm not imaginings the issues I see and I'm not alone in the way I've been feeling. This book has brought me not only confirmation of my worries for my loved one but also hope for healing.

This was a good read as it realistically shower how easily a person call fall into addiction. It showed the ups and downs of that struggle from both sides as well which is much different from most books I've read on the subject. However, the fact that they kept talking about religion getting them through it turned me off. I respect their views but not for me.

I always knew there was something beautifully different about the McColls...

I've loved following Chris and Susie McColl on social media - but I always sensed there was a depth and power there beyond their hilarious videos - something real, solid - eternal!
This is a page turner!! I could not put it down, finishing it in one sitting. Thank you for being vulnerable and honest, and for sharing the source of your hope and peace!

A must read!

There story hit home as I grew up around family and friends struggling with addiction. My own mother died of an overdose. Being able to hear both sides of their story was impactful for me. I definitely recommend this book!

Don’t bother

This book was quite a disappointment to me. It starts off ok… I could certainly relate to the guy with the pill and alcohol addiction. He finally ends up in a detox and before his time there is done he has had an experience with the Lord and Jesus and just like that his addiction was cured permanently. No rehab even needed after detox. Please… gimme a break and get real.. this story is what dreams and fantasies are made of. Steer clear if you have a real addiction.

Book of teaching and guidance

I really appreciate this book because it's written by authors who personally experienced this awful disease. Also based on spiritual health. I liked the way the chapters goes from how addiction can easily creeps into your life, losing control of everything, journey to recovering, and how to continue living the life of sobriety. Just genuine and awesome.

not what I expected

The writing was mediocre- I liked how they tag teamed though. This couples story is an important one to tell while at the same time could be any of us. The worst part is their solution to addiction/ success at staying sober definitely won’t work for everyone; or maybe even, won’t work for anyone.

Great story

Great recovery!!!!! Back from the brink 11 years this May and like you, never looked back...
I did a lot of damage to my health that I slowly rectified and couldn’t have done it without my Lord and Saviour.
Jeremiah 29:11 is another good one!

too biblical for me

I’m sorry but I was enjoying this story so much until all the god stuff came into it and it ruined or for me so I couldn’t finish it . I didn’t realise I was reading a sermon. Glad it all worked out for them though .

Stupid ending. One day saw God and was done drinking completely. It’s not that easy folks. Give me a break.

This should be marketed as religious content. Just multiple lectures about Jesus and how Jesus cured his addiction.
