Remington Kane

Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.

Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.

He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.

Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.

The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.

He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.

Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.

By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.

This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.

When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.

Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.

Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.

Well, looks like Sara needed to reach and even deeper rock bottom for her to give up Since I am actually writing this after reading the next book (I started it right after finishing this one last night), I'll just say, for anyone annoyed with Sara's behavior, it gets better in book #7. A lot better. I found myself getting a bit tired of her stance on Tanner in this book. She should have been looking in the mirror with some of her own criticisms (not only with Tanner but Jenny and others). But I think her character will improve now and I am curious to see if she and Tanner will have a more amicable relationship in the future.

So so.good!!

You know that line from Scarf ace "you want to go to war? I take you to war" This is not only a deeper look at the characters in this series but we are getting more of the human side and we like it. The writer brings you along at a pace that's so beguiling that you are caught before you know it. There are going to be some close calls, there are going to be a few times you are going to want to knock the snot out of Sara. Also we are going to experience a hard loss and its going to hurt. But the there are moments of humor and it is spot on. This was very entertaining addition to the series and it has all the action!

'War' really took off and didn't let up. The action, deceit and thrilling scenarios spun this book into one hell of a read. Tanner seems to be getting the feels for friendships, of sorts. He gets pulled back in but he's willing to do so on his terms. That's what I admire about him, he's true to himself- at least what one can be for a hired killer. This book had a couple turns I should have expected, but didn't. Great read. I can't wait to read more.

Really good, fun, funny, and fast paced!

It's hard not to like these books they're just really good enjoyable fun. The anti-hero Tanner always delivers without being too conceited or overpowering of a main character. The stories have been following a plot line much like a soap opera and guaranteed no One is safe from being cut out of the script. Look forward to the next book in the series and Tanner book series has been well worth the read!!! I look forward to the next book!

Someone wrote "no thought needed" and that's a good description, not in a bad way it's all action and surprises nothing to heavy just an easy read I powered through 4 books without blinking.
Even though I almost gave up on book one I'm glad I didn't.

Consistent.......

Consistent plot and characters. Like some of the people, have grown to like some of these hoods. What’s likable is their honor, some misplaced but there just the same.

Good

Sara needs to GO..... Her attitude in this book made me so angry (good writing). The way she is so focused on her hatred and revenge that she is alienating everyone. GRRRRRR I wanted to smack her so many times!

War:Book 6

Wow! Tanner finds himself in New York and it’s going to be bumpy. He reconnects with a past love, finds a new love and starts working with Rossetti and Joe. And Sara Blake, boy she has gone off the rails. Great book!!

I agree with those who are fed up with Sara Blake. This Blake line destroys an otherwise good book. The author invented the Blake Mental Glue.

Someone's review said "Cliffhanger!" *****. In other words, he didn't finish the story. Pity, I've enjoyed the first five very much and most of this one. No need to con me into buying another.

Great Book Terrible ending

I love these books, but this ending is nothing like the others and seems like a contrived ending to make you read the next book.

Wow! This was a great read! Plenty of action and unexpected twists and turns. I couldn't turn pages fast enough to see what would happen next. I won't give away the plot, I think it is more enjoyable to watch the action unfold as you read. The characters were great! Tanner is an awesome character! Wouldn't mind having him on my side!
My kindle died when I was almost half way through and I will say it was painful to not be able to finish. I was so thankful when I got it working again and I stayed up way too late, but I had to finish it.
I am new to the Tanner series, this is the first one I have read. There was enough information provided so that i was not lost or confused reading this one as my first. But I am now dying to read all the others in this series!
If you are looking for a great read, with plenty of action, twists and turns you don't see coming and great characters, this is the book for you. Just be prepared to be hooked on this series. I know I am!
I was provided an advance copy of this book by the author. This did not effect my review one way or the other. I truly enjoyed this book and will definitely be reading more by this author!!

Looks like Sarah has finally reached the end of the line, at least that's what I was thinking but then an unlikely mediator tries to get them to bury the hatchet as it were.

While Tanner is ready to move on and deal with some other issues that have become an immediate threat, Sarah seems to have some issues with bygones be bygones.

Not really a lot to say, if you're a fan of the series then you have an idea of what to expect from the beloved Tanner and if you're new to the series you can start here but I might recommend starting at the beginning.

War ( a Tanner novel #6)

Tanner, having survived the shootout that saved Laurel's life; finds himself at war with the Conglomerate and goes after the current hierarchy. Tanner does what he does best, but reaches a point where even his best can't save Rossetti. When Johnny is killed, all hell breaks loose. Tanner is faced with the Ultimate decision, save the woman who loves him or be killed by Sara. To get the answer, you're going to have to read the full story. Thanks for another great read.

Let go already

I have read all the Tanner books to this point and have enjoyed the simplicity of the main character. But please, Mr Kane, let's move on from Sara. She is no longer a viable enemy.....simply trying, whining, and no longer interesting. You diminish the credibility of Tanner by placing the two in conflict anymore.

Stellar story! Can't get enough of this character!

Great series, love this Tanner guy! Please keep it coming. I started this series looking for another lead that I would want to follow. Tanner has surpassed my expectations, I commend the author again on a great series, thank you!

War

Bounced around much more than I felt necessary for the series continuation I expected and it seemed more frenzied than the others in the series. I don't know if I fully understand the need to so casually kill so many to get the point across. Seems more like a Rambo story where you rack up body counts for sensationalism only.

love it!

Tanner is great, creative, sneaky, smart, no nonsense.
Remington Kane is in the vein of writers who don't use too many words to get the story told. I love this, but I'm always wishing for more. Great series.

Edge of your seat read

This book I think has more twists than the others. Of course the usual violence is there - that goes without saying but Sara really needs to be taken out. Really!!!!
