This is another great justice book.James Lamburt trying to find an runaway girl from the local orphanage. She is one of many runaways from the orphanage which makes James very suspicious. With the help of Frances who saw older man with a young girl they go to a small town to find him. What they find is not what they were looking for. With no means of getting outside help, they must fight to stay alive.Jamesis tough, but Frances is tougher.A sad reminder of the treatment of young females by men's.Its about greed for money and control.Read all these Justice books.Good mystery with some funny moments to break up the sadness.

This was my first John Etzil's book, and won't be the last! This is the book 2.5 in the Jack Lamburt Vigilante Justice Thriller Series. This thriller is well written and has it all! Fast-paced, intriguing, captivating, suspenseful, with a hilarious team! I liked it! The characters are great! I liked the Sheriff Jack Lamburt, and Frances, the feisty 90 year-old lady (she steals the show!). The Epilogue is great! Alan Taylor did an amazing job with the narration. He has the perfect voice as Sheriff Jack Lamburt, and he's hilarious as Frances! I really enjoyed my listening and totally recommend it! Now, I'm looking forward for the other books in the Series. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.

Urgent Justice is a novella that is part of the the Jack Lambert series. It can be read as a standalone. Though I suggest you read the other books first to fully understand the characters involved. There is violence and sex. This isn't your typical Jack Lambert story. He receives a report of a missing/abducted girl and finds much more than he bargained for. Definitely worth reading...especially if you have read the other books in the series.

Urgent Justice is a quick paced action thriller with good humor and great characters. Jack Lamburt is a small town sheriff who sometimes steps outside the law when he's taking out the trash. That happens in Urgent Justice with great effect. But what shines the most here is the banter between him and his sidekick, a 90-year old whiskey guzzling, foul-mouthed granny named Frances. This was my first Jack Lamburt book but I'm looking forward to jumping into the rest of the series!

Awesome first read!

This is my first John Etzil read but it won't be my last! Although I hadn't read the books that came before, I don't think I was deprived of any critical or important information. I will be reading them in order now though..

My favorite part? Francis.💜😁 She made my day....Maybe she needs her own stand alone... 😉

Lots of action with some chuckles thrown in.. A satisfying read.

Frances is the best

I thought the story was okay. Then Frances takes the road trip. So funny at some points I cracked up. I want to be like her when I am 90. She made this book a 5 star read.

I became a bibliophile over seventy years ago, back in the days when one could judge a book by whose name appeared on the cover. Those were the days of conventional publishing, the days when there were only a handful of authors in every genre that wrote tales worth reading. Or, perhaps I should say that there were only a handful of worthy authors getting published. Today, with all the publishing options available to writers, including self-publishing, many more worthy authors are making it into print. John Etzil is one of those authors.

Today I read and review almost everything except for children’s books, YA books and hard core chic lit. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule. Never-the-less, the thriller is my primary genre of choice because I spent my adult life working for one of those agencies that don’t exist, doing things we can’t talk about because it all comes under the national security umbrella. Well, I could tell you about those things, but then I would have to kill you. I spent my life doing the things these authors write about, which isn’t always good for them because I know when they don’t have a clue about what they are writing about. John Etzil isn’t one of those authors. He does his homework and gets everything right. Like someone who has walked the walk.

With Urgent Justice, Etzil has a story line that could have been taken from tomorrow’s headlines and sets the story in a town that I know well, Cobleskill, New York. I spent a great deal of time in Cobleskill. My first wife was born and raised there. Many of the characters that Etzil creates and populates his story world with reminded me of actual people that I once knew in Cobleskill. I’ve even known a few people in real life that were just like Jack Lambert, and I’m still friends with those people today.

Etzil has created characters that come alive on the pages and will live on in your heart and memory long after the story ends. Urgent Justice is an adrenaline rush, a rollercoaster thrill ride that will keep you burning through the pages from start to finish. If you are a true adrenaline junky, this is the one book and series that you must read b because Etzil keeps it real. Now, I’m headed over to Amazon or to his website to buy all the other books in this series.

Review of eBook

When teenager Wendy Connor vanishes from the local orphanage . . . a runaway? . . . Sheriff Jack Lamburt investigates. Strange goings-on at the Happy Home Orphanage, he figures, since several girls have run away over the past nineteen months . . . and none have turned up anywhere.

When Jack learns that feisty, ninety-something Frances could identify the girl's possible abductor, he teams up with her for a reconnaissance trip to Centralia, Pennsylvania.

Will they find Wendy? Or has Sheriff Jack's luck finally run out?

=========

In this action-packed stand-alone novella, part of the author's Jack Lamburt series, Sheriff Jack continues his one-man vigilante justice mission. Adamant in his life's mission to eliminate evildoers who've managed to evade justice and continue their dirty deeds, he's determined to add them to the Dead Man's Club.

Well-defined characters, non-stop action, and a compelling plot keep the pages turning. Frances is a gem; the interaction between Jack and Frances is a high point of the narrative.

The sheriff's one-man mission for justice plays a large part in the telling of the tale, but readers will find it difficult to feel sympathy for any of the justice-evaders Jack vanquishes. Readers who enjoy fast action and suspense will find much to appreciate here. But read this one for Frances . . . she's a delightful highlight in the telling of this tale.

Recommended.

This story got my interest right from the beginning. The story refers to a runaway teen who has been gone from an orphanage. Jack has gathered the information from the orphanage owners and has just left. He has just arrived at his girlfriend's bar and a discussion with Bobby who works at a close motel. Bobby's discussion has Jack wondering whether the info he just received has anything to do with the missing teen. As it was not the first teen to disappear, Jack wonder's if there is more to it.

Later after receiving more info, Jack starts to gather info regarding a vehicle that was possibly seen with the girl. After looking into it, Jack decides to take a trip and has Francis, who has seen the driver, come with him. When he arrives at his location, he runs into more than what he expected and has to fight for his life.

To find out what Jack discovered and why it upset so many people, then you must read this book. You won't be disappointed.

An enjoyable, fast paced, criminal investigation by a single minded police officer whose aim is to dispense justice, save the State money and deal with the criminals in a manner that they won't forget. In this book he saves a teenager from prostitution and worse while taking down a criminal organisation. I don't want to give the plot away as it might spoil your enjoyment but I will give you a hint: as well as enjoying the action I loved his temporary assistant, the geriatric femme fatale.

A 'lady' whom you wouldn't want to meet on a dark night and I hope that I'll read about her in the future.

The views expressed are my own and, alas, no money has been passed in my direction!

A one-of-a-kind outrageous thriller…

A crazy, fun read if you don’t mind a-typical characters with some gore on the side. Personally, I would like less violence in this short but fast-paced action-thriller – more quirky than scary when you add in a bawdy-mouthed elderly woman who is just as anxious to get in on the action. What action? Well, if one thinks they will get away with the unthinkable, they better think again. Sheriff Jack has other plans to guarantee that justice prevails. He doesn’t waste any time when tracking down crime nor will the reader with this quick read novella.

Full of action, Urgent Justice is a story of one man's idea of justice. Full of interesting characters, this novelette is is a good example of John Etzil's hero, Jack Lambert, and his mission to bring bad guys to justice. I enjoyed the book and my only concern was the short length seems to have forced the writer to include several lucky events and actions that would logically have taken !ore time and with more detail. This is a short but thoroughly enjoyable tale for readers who enjoy quirky characters and lots of action.

Jack is a NY Sheriff. He is also a part-time employee of a government agency that causes bad doers to be eliminated and is definitely off the books. A teenage girl disappears from a local orphanage. She is the third one to do so in recent months. He is convinced there is more to this than meets the eye. He and his 90+ year old friend go examining. The plot is great and filled with action. And laughter. At times I found myself laughing out loud. It is a very fast novella and reads as such. Thanks to the author and publisher for an e-galley for an honest review.

Urgent Justice is a great read if you like suspense thrillers. When Jack and Frances, a very feisty octogenarian, follow a lead to a missing girl they run into multiple situations resulting in violence. I love John Etzil’s sense of humor that is thrown in periodically. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat so that you just can’t stop reading. I highly recommend this book if you like a good suspense story.

Jack Lamburt is a man who gets things done. After seeing the way the justice system lets criminals go, he decides to see that they get their due. Teenage girls are missing in and around where he is sheriff. Nearby, there is a small town that is very strange. Could they be there? The best character is the feisty woman in her 90s who lives with two men and often makes sexual innuendos toward Jack.

Absolutely non-stop action in this story. The mystery is in what twist will the action take. The non-mystery is that someone is going to die and Sheriff Jack will do the killing. If you are the slimeball who doesn't deserve to be here, the Sheriff will help you out - literally. Although for those special customers he can find a "life time special".

This was a story about John Lamburt who takes on the task of finding and returning five teenage girls who've "runaway" from an orphanage. In actuality they'd been sold into a group of pedophiles. There's lots of action as he searches and satisfaction as he dishes out revenge once he finds them. The novel wasn't what I was expecting, but yes I would recommend it.

Sheriff Jack Lambert is on a mission when a young girl goes missing from an orphanage. He accidentally finds a predatory organization dealing with the sale of young girls. He’s bent on revenge for them, and tracts down the culprits. And he’s very good at revenge! Humor thrown in here and there is appreciated.

I didn't like the humor used in this book, it just wasn't my style. Sometimes the humor was so bad that I had to groan.
