"Remember, the only thing standing between you and what you want is YOU and what you aren't willing to do." (Larry Winget, What's Wrong with Damn Near Everything)
He starts off the book explaining that this book is not a book on what is right, but on what is wrong with everything. He says that the first thing a person must do to solve a problem is to identify that there is a problem. He discusses government, politics, raising children, money, business, employment, guns, etc.
As with all his books he exercises his first amendment rights to speak what his opinion is and he encourages his readers to develop their opinions by doing research and then having an educated opinion. The author is a moderate, meaning he agrees with both sides of the aisle. He is not too conservative and he is not too liberal. In respect to money, he is a conservative and in respect to who you marry, he is a liberal. Therefore, he says, he is right down the middle. I agree with him, I think both sides have good policies and one is not always right and one always wrong. I think both could find middle ground.
I like the chapter on what his opinion is in respect to what government should be involved in our lives and what they should not be involved in.

Although this book is filled with a lot of helpful wisdom, it is riddled with terrible ideas and ignorance. I appreciate the author's suggestions concerning business management, caring about what you do, and how your actions affect others, but I don't share his apparent opinion that everyone is responsible for their own ill fortune, as well as some other opinions he shares. If, as Charlie's teacher instructs him in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, you can be a filter instead of a sponge, you might find this to be a very informative book.

I'm a BIG fan of Larry Winget. Love his style of writing. Speaks his mind in plain English that's easy for everyone to understand. Somewhat repetitive, but experts believe you have to say something three times for it to sink in. If you are a Winget fan - add this to your collection.

Core values (honesty, integrity, respect, work ethic, adding value, fiscal responsibility, education, kindness, self-sufficiency) are being eradicated by political correctness, educators and the educational system, politicians, helicopter-government, helicopter-parenting, and the entitled mentality. Larry’s in your face, pull no punches, common sense explanations, lays out what’s going on, why it’s wrong and what you can do about it.

THIS IS A GREAT READ! The way in which Winget writes makes this a very easy flowing book to read. He speaks frankly and for someone who believes in frank talk, this was a refreshing and unexpected change for me. I will definitely read more of his books and would expect a similar expectation.
Why do I like this book? Because Winget takes on all the main issues that a great many people would prefer NOT to talk about. Winget talks about all issues that some who practice "political correctness" would never consider talking about. Race, Sex, Personal Responsibility, LGBT Community, marriages, education, everyone gets a trophy, managing money, working and work ethics, getting a job, etc. etc.
I love this book! Does it meet my criteria for a good book? (1) Would I read it again? (2) Would I give it as a gift? (3) Would I buy a copy for each of my 4 children? The answer is YES, YES, and YES and most assuredly WILL!
Who should read this book? Anyone who cares about the future of America. I would think that would or should be everyone.

По принцип пиперливия език на Лари Уингет ми допада и в думите му има много мъдрост и неприятна истина. Този път не съм впечатлен. Това, което е написал някак не става за книга. Изглежда така сякаш автора е събрал постовете си във Фейсбук на почти всяка гореща тема и ги е публикувал.
Определено има какво да се иска.

Larry Winget does it again! He takes on the entitled, politically correct forces in our society Andy makes a compelling, passionate argument that we need to stop them, and return to old fashioned value like self-reliance, honesty, and integrity.

Гигантски трол! Но всъщност ми харесва как от страната на ценностите опитва да сритва задниците на лигльовците от всяко едно поколение (говори за милениълите неща, които те говорят за поколението Z, така че всичко е наред). На моменти прекалено агресивно, но с много самоирония и чувство за хумор. И макар че на човека му личи, че е републиканец, не спестява нищо в прочита си
