In Focus Chakra Healing: Your Personal Guide

Rate this book
Become a more complete peaceful, spiritual, emotional, and physical individual with In Focus Chakra Healing. This essential guide provides in-depth summaries about each chakra, followed by expert advice from Roberta Vernon on how to identify and restore blocked, weak, or closed chakras through common holistic approaches, such as crystal healing, color healing, astrological healing, essential oils, and magic healing. Included inside the back cover is a beautifully illustrated 18 × 24–inch wall chart detailing the main characteristics of the major and minor chakras.

Chakras are energy centers in our bodies that act as the seats of our internal functions, such as health, state of mind, and body functions, as well as our external environments, like alerting us when a place feels right for us or when it makes us feel uncomfortable. However, the six major chakras—base, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, brow, and crown—are many times blocked or misaligned, bringing about a host of negative ailments, feelings, and emotions. Thankfully, chakras can be corrected through various healing practices explained in this guide.

Common ailments addressed:
Overeating
Digestive disorders
Fatigue
Allergies
Emotional stress
Physical stress
Headaches
The In Focus series applies a modern approach to teaching the classic body, mind, and spirit subjects. Authored by experts in their respective fields, these beginner's guides feature smartly designed visual material that clearly illustrates key topics within each subject. As a bonus, each book includes reference cards or a poster, held in an envelope inside the back cover, that give you a quick, go-to guide containing the most important information on the subject.

An excellent beginner book on chakras, what they are and how, when fully aligned what they can do for you and the way you feel. It's full of information, very colourful and easy to understand. It's a great book for those wishing to start to learn more about this field. Really enjoyable book.

I had to sleep on this before I wrote a review.

First things first, this book will easily take someone two hours to get through. It is filled with drawings and worksheets, as it is intended to be a beginner's personal guide (hence the name). It's a very helpful workbook as well for anyone looking to dive into the chakras/healing/witchcraft.

I liked the first half of the book because it walks you through all the chakras, their meanings, associations, and everything else you would need to know. However, Vernon lost me in the second half. She started talking about Reiki healing, healing others, and other techniques that only advanced practitioners would know. No advanced healers/practitioners would be reading a beginner's guide on their own expertise.

I, discovering a newfound interest in Buddhism, was really excited to see how chakras can be applied to it. Buddhism uses chakras often in meditation and emotional healing. I felt like in the second half it entirely focused on witchcraft and other pagan or astrological purposes, which I thought should have been outlined in the title or description.

All in all, this provides a wealth of knowledge on the chakras as well as helpful worksheets to use again and again for someone who really wanted to try it. However, I would not recommend this book for those who would rather just simply learn about the chakras and healing - it just draws too much on healing others and advanced practitioner techniques that are not necessarily applicable to chakra healing.

i thought this book was really well done and an excellent resource for someone diving into the world of chakras. i’m definitely a novice so i found it really helpful. it’s full of charts, diagrams, and even worksheets so it’s really great if you learn best through interaction rather than just reading. it also explains how to incorporate chakra work into your witchcraft which i thought was a nice bridge between subjects.

This book was exactly what I needed for a general understanding of the chakras (major and minor) and the energies associated with each. Very visual and many charts and graphics to make this topic easily digestible. Although this book mainly focused on the chakras — it also gave a decent overview of reiki, crystals, color and essential oils.

Today I'm reviewing In Focus: Chakra Healing - Your Personal Guide by Roberta Vernon.
Generally I like to start out with a disclaimer. I am an contemporary witch. I look for the connection between magic and science without the need to search for a creator. I receive no compensation for these reviews and all my links are standard Amazon links and not affiliate links. I am a practicing photo reader and have spent the last 16 years honing my craft. I offer personal readings by request and have a strong online history that boasts nearly 400,000 views.

I'm going to begin with a review of the physical book. My copy was a hard cover copy without a dust jacket that includes an 18 x 24 inch Chakra wall chart. It is colorful and informative. It tucks nicely into an envelope in the back of the book. The cover is bright yellow with a dark black text that bounces off the cover. The print is slightly raised giving a nice feel to the book when held. It is a bit larger than some books but not too large to be tossed into a bag or backpack for reading on the go. This is the third or fourth book I have reviewed as part of the In Focus collection from Quarto Knows and I found this to be a very good quality book and an easy read.

The chapters are broken down into sections that review what the Chakras are and how they are divided with a chapter dedicated to the major and minor chakras alike. I found the chapter on identifying the weak chakra to be extremely beneficial. It reads like a troubleshooting guide for what ails you. Quick, to the point and direct about which chakras you need to work with when dealing with issues like spiritual deference, the lymphatic system and even income and money.

Chapter seven talks about using crystals for healing the Chakras. One of my favorite topics. This section has tips and tricks as well as some pretty good images related to setting up your crystals and selecting the correct crystal for specific issues. The chart on page 102 is great for a chakra crystal at a glance. I could see this being a great reference for current practitioners and beginners alike.

Unlike many Chakra books I have reviewed, this book offers a chapter on magical techniques for working with the chakras. Basic altar discussion, candles, colors and meditations are provided. I was pleased to see that this book also included a section, although brief, on our furry friends as well.
Overall this is a great book to have in your Chakra library and I highly recommend.

*I was given a free ARC of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.*

This book has such an amazingly awesome eye-catching cover that you know if you saw it on a shelf you'd be drawn to it. This book is a wonderful introduction to chakra healing. It starts by going over what the major and minor chakras are, then how to heal them in different ways. Perhaps you like reiki? That's here. Or your more of a crystal type of person? That's also in here. You can also use colors and essential oils. Then there is a chapter on healing emotional pain, followed by meditative chakra techniques. There are wonderful illustrations and pops of color throughout the book that really make it engaging and fun to read and learn. I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to learn more about this topic. 5 out of 5 stars.

As a spiritual practitioner and coach I am always looking for reading material not just for myself, but also for my clients. I love how easy and comprehensive this book is. It's a great book for beginners and for those that want to incorporate into their daily life or other practices like Reiki. The author explains how you can use colour, crystals and essential oils with each chakra, and also chakra healing for animals.

This is an excellent introduction to chakras with easy language and enough information to give you a great start. A must have in your library.

Thank you NetGalley and Wellfleet Press for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

In FOcus Chakara HElaing breaks down the Chakara's and how to use them. I have always read about the major chakras so it was interesting to learn that there are so many more energy points! The author goes over the various ways yo use the chakra for healing including color, crystal and Reiki therapy. I learned a lot reading this book and there is so much more dealing with chakra then I ever guessed.

All around a great beginner's guide to learning about chakras and how to work with them. I subtracted one star because this book made it very difficult to take notes. I wrote out each of the chakras at least six times to update correspondences, associations, etc, and didn't realize there was a larger section devoted to a deep dive of each chakra until halfway through the book. Wish it could have been organized a bit better, but the information overall was still great.

In Focus Chakra Healing is a detailed description of each chakra along with the author's advice on how to identify and restore blocked, weak, or closed chakras through common holistic approaches, such as crystal healing, color healing, astrological healing, essential oils, and magic healing.

A great book for beginners and anyone wanting a refresher course. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

I loved this book because I knew nothing about the chakras or healing going into it, and it wasn’t too much for someone who is just getting their feet wet! I still go back to it time and time again when I want to understand more about my feelings and how to navigate my own inner healing. I loved the section on healing the Chakras, specifically the crystal healing! It definitely peaked my interest!

That was very informative. I learned a lot from this book. It's one of those nooks that you practice what you've learned while reading the book. This makes a good coffee table read for guests. I real liked it.

I read this book via NetGalley. I thank them for this book. #NetGalley, #InFocusChakraHealing

I’m new to spirituality and found this book to be both beautiful to look at and full of interesting info. Once I picked it up, I didn’t put it down until I was finished.

As much as I loved reading it, I was definitely bummed that when actually touches on healing the chakras, it doesn’t explain how to heal oneself??? Only to heal others, which I’m definitely not comfortable doing yet...

Chakras don't get own individual chapters like other books, but are divided into major and minor chakras. This can be helpful for those who want an introduction to the other chakras. There is a still a focus on the main chakras and introduction to chakra healing. It is cool to see an introduction book to write about the other chakras.

A great introduction to Chakra healing , again like the other books in this series I like the fact it’s very responsible and advises to seek medical advice for illnesses etc and does advice its to be used in conjunction with western medicine. It’s a well presented book, written in plain English easy to understand and bright attractive illustrations that compliment the book well. Helpful guide for the beginner and the more advanced too.

The chakras book is very informative and interesting. Chakra healing is considered to be an ancient alternative form of healing. The book explores the different chakras, and how they can be healed using crystals and essential oils to name a few. It's a good starter for people who want to explore the chakras and how they influence our health.

In Focus Chakra Healing is a informative book on Chakras that is easy to use and understand. Any beginner could understand this book. I loved how this book also told the reader to consult with medical professionals,I wish more books would do that. Bravo.

This book has some good information about the chakras, but is not an "in focus" presentation as the title would suggest. It also includes information on pendulums, reiki, crystals, astrology and the elements and other healing modalities that sometimes were explained in relation to the chakras, and sometimes not. I would have preferred a truly "In Focus" book on chakra healing, as it is a great topic that doesn't need all the fluff and fill that I felt this book supplied.
Thanks to NetGalley for the review copy. The opinions expressed are my own.
