Well the battle is looming and Odin really hasn't got my vote. I really can't stand him and I really don't like how they all treat Loki. I like the way that throughout the book they all start to question Odin and how the story progresses.

This was an ok follow up. More action packed and filled with fighting. I wasn’t a fan of Odin and almost wished they didn’t rescue him. For a supreme being he’s lazy, cocky and an asshat. The heroine has to threaten him to even make him see a lick of reason. I’m glad the story is progressing and they finally made some headway. The dark (evil) elf aspect was getting old so I’m glad they dug to the heart of the matter and stopped to think about why the elves turned on them. Looking forward to the final battle and however they manage to take down their Giant foe, pun intended 😂

Too much fighting not enough romance
Odin, the Allfather was a cryptic asshole without much common sense who refused to listen to reason
The h had to threaten him just to get him to see reason
We wade through more of the guys backstory and their past hurts
I really don't get the connection between the h and the Hs, they have sex then rush off to fight without spending much time together yet Hod is already in love?!
I dislike when so many books are about 1 enemy, it makes the mcs seem incompetent that it takes them so long to vanquish 1 enemy

This is definitely not the best book in this series, but it was not terrible. This one seemed to drag out without much important. This book seemed to be one more so to strengthen the bond between Aria and her gods. It also was mainly about the preparation for the upcoming war with the giants. This is a important battle considering that it will decide the fate of midgard, Asgard, and other realms.

This was a decent continuation of the series. I really feel like there is something we are missing though. Maybe Odin has something up his sleeve still?

Aria is still bad A as ever, always standing up for herself and her boys. I like how Aria always sees behind the facade to inner workings. She really works around a problem to get to a better solution.

In this book Aria and her men are going to put a stop to Valhalla’s enemies....now if we could just figure out exactly who those were.... I enjoyed our tight knit our group is becoming and how each character is still working through their memories and fears from the last book.

Something is off tho....not sure what it is but I feel like a betrayal is coming. Not sure where all the gods have run off to but they are either involved or trapped in some way. We shall see.

After making it out of the Maze of nightmares, they finally make it back to Asgard. In doing so, they have angered a giant who is hell bent on wiping them out. Meanwhile, Odin who has been gone a long, long time, decided to take back control, which of course causes a lot of problems.

This was an okay book; I honestly only remember the part where Odin tried to take charge and just made a mess of it.

Didn’t find this one as exciting as the other two. With Odin saved the group now have to train to battle Surt. I liked how Ari dealt with both Loki and Balder. I dunno I guess it felt too smooth for me, with the exception of the ending. I’m gonna take this one as the calm before the storm and will read the next one since it’s the last.

Good but dragged on

I'm enjoying this series but this one just seemed to drag on. I'm enjoying the interactions Ari is having with her Gods but sometimes the in between scenes drag on longer than is necessary. The fight with Surt is still coming and I'm hoping it comes soon and faster than this book.

What the hell happened between the previous book and this one? The previous two books were fun and entertaining, had good pacing, but this book? What a snoozefest. Literally nothing happened after they saved Odin. There was a bunch of bickering and ✨drama✨ and characters being awful to each other, and Odin being the most awful of them all, and copious amounts of (boring) smut. And that's it. That's the book. Where's my plot? Where is my action? And I don't mean action between the sheets. Damn this book was a chore to read. I really hope the last book will save this series because this book was straight up filler.

Chase continues Aria and the gods' adventures in this third installment of Their Dark Valkyrie. With war looming in the near future, we find Aria and her gods in the tricky situation of figuring out how to combine their powers again to defeat Surt and the dark elves.

Not only are they dealing with the high stakes of saving Asgard and Midgard, but there's something wrong with the other realms. At a time when teamwork is most important, some of their bonds are in deep need of recovery. Munnin's memory tricks stripped them all raw, and they're reliving the aftermath and trauma of events they thought were long buried in the past.

Aria has a chance to really shine, and I love that she's taking even more steps to become a strong valkyrie that doesn't just hide behind the commands and desires of the gods- even Odin. Her take no sh*t attitude makes her one of their most valuable weapons in the battle against Surt; she looks beyond the relationships and history that the gods have with one another, and she's really emerging as the one who can make those vital decisions without being blinded by past prejudice.

Although all of the gods are showcased, I feel like Falling for Gods is really also Loki's book. He just strikes such a poignant cord for me, and there's something so irresistibly wounded yet strong about him. His snark, hidden depths, and care for Aria make him such a lovely character. While Hod and Baldur struggle with feeling betrayed by their father, and Thor is fighting against being what others limit him to be, I feel Loki has the deepest wounds.

Chase does a phenomenal job of continuing her character development, using Munnin's games as a catalyst that will overall strengthen her cast when they finally deal with the hurt that truly lies in each of them.

It's time to admit that I'm very invested in this series. I don't just love the action, but I love the relationships. Each time I open a new look into Their Dark Valkyrie, I don't just want to find out what happens next, I NEED to find out what happens next. I'm sticking with this series, that's for sure.

One of my favorite things about this series is that the harem members have their own personal arcs within the main story. It seems obvious that all of the main characters should have their own personal growth and individual story lines, but many RH books don't do this well. This series does it well. However, it doesn't do it perfectly.

The memory prison in the last book really stirred things up, and I kind of wanted more fall out from that in this book. Yes, they've already addressed a lot of this, but when some people start falling into old patterns, no one except Aria really wants to rock the boat. There's still a degree of grudging acceptance and underlying resentment to the gods' interactions, but they don't talk about it with each other. They discuss it with Aria, but she isn't the problem there, so she isn't the one who can really change anything. There's still one more book for this to be resolved in, but the gods' interactions without Aria leave a lot to be desired.

I was also a bit let down by everything with Odin. I feel like, after thousands of years of being the mastermind, he gave in too easily when everyone finally stood up to him together. I don't trust it and the gods still need to have some tough conversations with him, but if it is real, I'm going to be disappointed. So much of the current circumstances are his fault, but the story doesn't seem to be heading toward him suffering for any of it. Sure, he was already imprisoned for awhile, but that doesn't feel like enough, especially if he's only recently seen the error of his ways (if he isn't lying about that). I don't really want him to still be standing by the end of the final book, and I'll give bonus points if Freya is the one who kills him out of love for all those he has wronged.

Still loving this series. I like the interactions of all the characters, but I still find the snubbing of Loki as unfair. I understand that there is history between him and the other gods, but with their knowledge of why, I was hoping for more. I was a little put off with Aria's dismissal of Odin at times. These were the only things with which I really had a problem in this novel.

As far as reviews go, I don't enjoy reviewing in between novels in a short series that only has one over arcing storyline. The character building is still there, but it always feels incomplete.

I like the story line as a whole. However, this is somewhere between a YA and an adult romance. Just because several men are interested in the same woman does not make it an adult romance RH. There are definite favorites by the author so far (i.e. detailed scenes with the same people and the others skipped over). If you removed the very sporadic, non-sexual tension build up "sexy" scenes, this would be a fantastic YA series. I am going to finish the series but I think I would look elsewhere for the "romance" genre.

This series kind of stalled for me. 1st book was great. 2nd book I had to fight to finish because it was the same thing over and over again and this third book was just blah. I found myself skipping over large sections (mainly battles and surprisingly some of the sexy times). I lost interest in the overall plot and was disappointed that the third book was not the final book. I try to make an effort to complete a series I’ve gotten this far in but I can’t bring myself to read the fourth and final book. I don’t really care what happens to Aria and her Norse gods. Unfortunate but true.

I can only assume i am continuing this series as i enjoy it as much as a public flogging but this was simply terrible.

Special snowflake who suddenly knows it all and who everyone looks to for advice despite being thousands of years older than her and having fought actual wars 🙄. I don't even like the guys anymore they have all turned into lovestruck saps with not a single redeeming quality.

I listened to books 1-3 on Audible and allthough I could tell there were good bones to the story, it was just too much for me to track while only listening so I found myself tuning out a lot. The humor in the beginning of the first book is what reeled me in and I didn't notice a lot of that carrying into the rest of the story. It was an interesting take on god lore and I enjoyed the idea, I think I'll revisit the last book in page so I can fully immerse myself.

This story just keeps getting more exciting, dangerous and it is full of action, adventure, romance and love. There are multiple POV's that keep the story interesting and fresh. We have the four male gods, Loki, Thor, Hod and Baldur, who are romantically linked to their Valkyrie Aria. We have a female goddess, Freya, who is also Odin's wife, working and fighting also side of the five of them. As we read in the last episode, Loki, Thor, Hod, Baldur and Aria have a magical link between them. It makes them a greater force when they fight together than separate. Odin is pleased with this development and wants to see them develop it to the maximum potential. Being around Odin has caused resentful, confusing memories for each of the team members. Odin acts like the all-knowing one, but he does not take into consideration the possible contributions his sons or his wife could offer. Right now, one of the deadliest giants, Surt is waging war against Odin and the gods. Surt has been gathering an army of the undead and has coaxed the dark elves into helping him. Aria started to question why had the dark elves turned against Asgard when in the past there was a tentative peace and there had been trade between them. She got the team wondering also. Little by little each one took it upon themselves to delve deeper into the problems. They were beginning to question Odin's dictates. As information came trickling in, they find that the gods have neglected the other realms and the occupants had no choice but to join Surt. With all this new information coming from the dark elves and the giants, the gods and the Valkyrie were able to begin a plan of attack to thwart the impending war. They were able to gain the dark elves alliance and also have the giants working in their favor thanks to Thor. Also, if you read the last episode you were introduced to Muninn the Raven. She became a powerful enemy and had imprisoned the team and mentally and emotionally tortured them. Now that the team was free and in Asgard, they realized that Muninn could be a powerful ally. It was Odin who would need to reach out to Muninn and make things right with her. Odin also had to deal with Aria having an extraordinary amount of influence over Loki, Thor, Hod and Baldur. The guys also had to deal with themselves and their painful memories of their past in relation to Odin. Will Odin be able to come around and see what he is missing? Will the guys fall apart around Odin? There is so much going on in this episode that you don't want to miss. I highly recommend this book. I wait with bated breath for the fourth and final episode. The reverse harm that's full of mythology, the Their Dark Valkyrie series continues on with the adventure in Falling for Gods the third book in the series. This book finds Aria and her fellow gods in Asgard trying to come up with a viable plan to stop Surt from conquering Midgard. However that is not the only problem, besides Asgard and Midgard the other worlds are failing and with the gods past dredged up and Odin keeping his plans to himself it hard to get a reasonable attack plan started. Their are hurt feeling and mistrust brewing with Odin and it looks like it's up to Ari to set the gods on the right path before the even began to fight this battle.

It was interesting to have Odin join the story halfway through. Aria was created by the other gods and she now has a bond with Freya and an even deeper bond with Hod, Loki, Baldur and Thor. She was created by the four males and has built relationships with all of them, they have already a certain dynamic and to see how Aria reacts to Odin is interest and the way he reacts to her is just as interesting. 🙂 Aria has more grown quite a bite from the first book, she takes charge of things even though this was the gods world first, she speaks her mind and tries to find solutions. Aria has even grown to trust them even more than she has in the past, she more self-assured and it's nice to see the relationships grow.

Aria wasn't the only one two grow, because of her each of her gods has grown too. Hod is more gentler, Thor tries to do something besides fight, Baldur lets some of his darkness out and Loki, well he is "trying" not to stir the pot as much. I would love to go into more detail but I don't want to give anything away.

I love the dynamic between the group and the mythology is good I just wish I could have been introduced to other worlds or more gods, that would have been interesting. What can I say I have a love of Norse mythology. I also would love to know what happen to the other gods that is a mystery I would love having the answer to by the next book.

Falling for Gods is a good continuation to the Their Dark Valkyrie series that is fulled with action, adventure, sexy times, magic and family drama. It was a quick read that I really enjoyed and I look forward to seeing how it all ends in the final book, Waking the Gods.

I thought this one improved from book 3, earning a 4-4.5 stars from me. Like a lot of the other reviews, definitely wanted to reach into the book and hit Odin upside his head, or his good eye haha. He was making things way more difficult than it had to be and he just needed to get over it to help keep the worlds together, think about others besides who held him in captivity all these years. Surt's army keeps growing and the Gods and their allies come together to put a major roadblock in there plans, but based on the cliffhanger at the end of book 3, it's not over yet. In this book we get to see more relationships mend and more developments in the romance department (not a lot, still a medium burn series in my opinion). The steamy scenes that were in here were very good (looooved the twin moment - sorry spoiler, only one I promise haha). I loved how Aria helped Baldur the most in this story, along with Loki and Hod. Thor didnt need much helping, but her being constant with him and his rock was good. I loved the development with the raven and I think I saw she might have gotten her own short story somewhere, gonna have to go look for it! I liked the resolution with Odin and everyone, still have a lot to go for everyone to be ok with one another, but things are starting to be patched up and hopefully creating more cohesiveness before the major confrontation. One thing that I am not sure is going to be mentioned in book 4 is Baldur's development and admission in book 3. I feel like that was a huge issue and then we forgot about it. Guess we shall see if its touched upon in the 4th and final book.

Narration was awesome in this one, would have given a 5 stars for it. I could feel the emotion from the characters, both did a great job getting into the heads of the characters and making them come to life. Especially with their frustration with Odin, Odin's stubborn ways, and Aria's admission of starting to love these gods. I wish I had book 4, have to wait tunic my subscription lets me download it in June gahhh. Can't wait to finish up this awesome series ❤️

I love Norse mythology. I love getting to know these Gods better and better. I love getting to know their famous stories. I have to admit that at first I wasn't entirely sure if this was gonna be my kind of series. And yes, there are quite a few Eva Chase series I loved more, but I'm really enjoying it, especially because I really think Chase did an amazing job with this series. I had actually wanted to read another book today, but I just had to grab this one.

I was actually kinda wondering what the characters were gonna do the last two books. I knew there was a war coming, but there had to be more. And there was more! What I really loved about this book is that it's very much about the preparations of the war, but it's also about a lot more. It's about questioning Odin, it's about figuring out new talents, it's about growing as characters and it's also about growing as a team.

Although action wise not that much is happening, apart from the spectacular opening scene and a few short scenes where gates are being blown up, there is a lot going on strategy wise. Our characters are actively seeking out why the war is happening and why people are picking certain sides. They're asking questions, even when they have to meet with enemies and people who hurt them in the past to get answers. And they also challenge authority when they feel their decisions are simply wrong.

I also like how the author uses this book to bring more and more nuance to the Gods. A lot of Gods, not just in Norse mythology, are often very one dimensional. Chase takes those versions and allows them to discover different sides of themselves, to become more than those one dimensional versions. Thor is not just a brute. Loki is not just the bad guy causing chaos. Hod and Baldur are not only dark and light. And it's so amazing to see the Gods discovering and embrace that.

Aria Watson is a Valkyrie and as her powers grow she becomes closer to her four gods in their home of Asgard. Her hopes of a quiet life and time to enjoy their company is not likely as the power hungry giant Surt is determined to take over the world and Odin seems to have become fatalistic about how this whole situation will end. Ari and her gods have many battles and negotiations with the different parties involved in the conflict. Will they succeed so she can have the quiet life she would quite like to have or will something happen to change things?

Wow - lots of danger and drama in this instalment of the series. I loved the way Ari's relationship with the gods was developing and how they were all having distinct features in how their personalities developed and matched. Ari became a strong woman and who knew what she wanted and went for it in this book no matter who she needed to talk to to get it. I loved the way she was able to persuade all the different people to see her way of thinking and adapt to the situations she found herself in. The knowledge of mythology and the gods involved by the author was very detailed and all that knowledge made this book and the rest of the series very rich and full of detail. Well written it was easy to understand and fell the frustrations, thoughts and emotions of the characters.

Storyline/Plot:
I love the narrators of these books. Aiden Snow’s voice has such a deep range. I love it! Samantha Cook is great at portraying the male voices when she narrates too. The story itself is still great! I liked how we got to see more of Asgard and the other realms in this book! The cliffhanger is awful, but luckily for all of us, it’s a finished series! This is a relationship/character-building series. While there is action, I was more intrigued by the characters.

Favorite Characters:
I have to say I love all of the MMCs and Aria! I have a serious soft spot for Loki. The way he covers his feelings with wit and how he is so much more than a trickster makes my heart warm. Thor is also a top player in this book. He wants to be more than just muscle and it's so cute!

Spice:
You get a scene with MFM. There are plenty of one-on-one scenes as well. Due to Aria’s trauma, the spice itself is very gentle. It’s more on the romantic versus the dirty side.

Triggers:
Mentions of child abuse, death of a sibling, and child sexual abuse. More in-depth than the first book but still not too graphic.
