Anant Pai popularly known as Uncle Pai, was an Indian educationalist and creator of Indian comics, in particular the Amar Chitra Katha series in 1967, along with the India Book House publishers, and which retold traditional Indian folk tales, mythological stories, and biographies of historical characters. In 1980, he launched Tinkle, a children's anthology, which was started under Rang Rekha Features, India's first comic and cartoon syndicate, that lasted till 1998, with him as the Managing Director.
Today, Amar Chitra Katha sells about three million comic books a year, in English and more than 20 Indian languages, and has sold about 100 million copies since it inception in 1967 by Anant Pai, and in 2007 was taken over by ACK Media.
A gem and a must read. The best that is available of Birbal's stories. If you have grown up without reading these stories, it's high time to read them now.
As a child, I was crazy for Birbal's stories, all for his wit and intelligence in any situation. I learned being observant was the key to deal with any petty or profound matters of life.
Feeling joyful that I was able to revive my childhood reminiscences with this 5-in-1 collection available on Kindle. No wonder these stories are not meant only for kids but adults too.
These are the evergreen tales that had made Birbal such an unforgettable part of history, despite the textbooks spending barely a few sentences for him. His wit, warmth, and wisdom shines through all political or socio-economic miasma. ACT deserves a Bharatratna for immortalising such figures through sublime art and crisp narration. Highly recommended.
Stories of Birbal 5-in-1(Kindle Edition) is a book written by Anant Pai in which there are 5 volumes of stories about Birbal Handling many situations. REVIEW : The Major Pro hidden in this book is the experience of learning the intelligence of Birbal . I don't know it is fiction or not (I think it is fiction), The Birbal intelligence will entertains you till the last page . Well written moral stories and I like it .
VERDICT : A good story telling book that will provide time pass
Borrowed this book form prime reading . Read from Kindle PaperWhite(10th gen)
One of my favourite books in childhood days was a collection of stories of Akbar and Birbal. It was good to revisit the tales of wit and wisdom as a comic. Should find a book that has the complete collection perhaps.
Amar Chitra Katha has been a mentor to us in childhood. Even in adulthood, these tales are memorable, inspiring and teach the right values. I would rate ACK higher than any religious book in these matters.
