Brilliant!! I really enjoyed the first book in this series ‘Operation Hail Storm’, and Brett Arquette has done an amazing job with this second book. I love the way the story goes back in time, and gives us an insight into one of the characters, and the way it shapes part of this story. Another stand out for me is the weapons, and how unique some of them are. Great characters, and an interesting plot, made this a very enjoyable book to read. Lieutenant Commander Foster Nolan had always done what he was told by his Military bosses, and it was out of character when he decided to ignore an order and bomb North Korea. He was incredibly unlucky when he had to eject from his 300 million fighter jet into the sea. However, he was lucky enough to be pulled out alive, and in one piece. Marshall Hail wanted desperately to kill everyone on the FBI’s, 10 most wanted list. Especially since it was the result of what terrorist had done, that had killed his family. Even though the US Government don’t mind Marshall’s help in eliminating some of the evil men around the world, they aren’t about to let him have it all his own way with access to the list. So Marshall will need to conduct a mission of their choosing, and he might be surprised with what they are asking him to do. He may even need to get off his ship, and personally confront someone pretty dangerous, that’s not used to being told what to do. If you haven’t read one of Brett Arquette’s books, then I would strongly recommend you do. They are well worth the 5/5 Star Rating.
My Introduction To Brett Arquette's Novels "Operation Hail Storm #1" was A great start Hail Warning continues with Just as much action bringing down the worst of the worst Terrorist in the world. i wont say any more grab a copy you wont be disappointed but read "Operation Hail Storm #1" first a 5 star read will wait to read Hail #3 hope it will be out in 6 months or so
I received Hail Warning from Brett Arquette on Kindle. Hail Warning is a fast paced story line with wicked weapons on hand and master minds that operate these drones. CIA Operative Kara has definitely changed her tune and still aboard the notorious Hail Nucleus. Pepper is still there with his distrust for Hail. Joanna is still full of dry humor and intensified loathing for security. Terrorist threats and Russian arms dealers are back together with a back story that enlightens the readers on what and how the terrorists and arms dealer, Kornev came together.
I really enjoyed Hail Warning. I immensely enjoyed Kara this time around. She had fabulous characteristics that really allowed me to understand her plight. Brett Arquette did a wonderful job on expanding her persona this round. Hail and his team of assassins did not disappoint. The CIA might have made this round difficult but Hail delivers brilliance with his drones, again. I love the names of his drones.
Hail Warning leaves the reader wanting to know what is next at the end of each chapter. It was difficult to put the book down. Again, I’m excited to see what happens next. I definitely recommend reading Hail Warning. Operation Hailstorm delivered an action packed story line with Hail Warning following through as an expansion of characters and a wonderful story line. The plot thickens…
Having just surprised Washington on what he can do with his crew, Marshall Hail is on to the next assignment. Sometimes they are in some tight situations but in the end they can accomplish the objective. Now they have a fighter pilot to help and he is a big help. The kids have ideas for expanding their lives out side the ship. Can Marshall pull off the next terrorist on the list the president has given him? Always lots going on with Marshall and the crew.
Hail continues to work on his assassination list and must find the Russian gun runner while a female CIA agent remains onboard his ship. The bargaining reciprocal agreements with feds includes fancy footwork with new weapons and a new team member. The pace is so active a reader might not sleep until the book is finished. This series only gets better and the next book I hope will be coming soon.
A mixture of high tech wizardry adventure and daring when a rich man with unlimited resources decides to take on arms dealers and terrorists. It brings out the Walter Mitty in all of us.
This is book two in the series. I would suggest that you read book one first in order to gain further insight into the primary characters . That said if you read book two first, they both are masterfully written and extraordinary reads! Marshall Hail is an extremely wealthy man, who tragically lost his wife and two daughters to a terrorist attack. Kara a CIA agent assigned to work with him family suffered the same fate. Hale's base of operations is one of his ships. He hunts terrorist and eliminates them using highly sophisticated drones. POTUS has agreed to let him proceed, but without any connection to him. Plausible deniability. Her further skepticism towards Hale is fueled by her CIA director who doesn't like Hale. Hail thinks the director is an arrogant pompous bass. On the positive side, Hail has so far been highly successful. Kara who initially was standoffish with Hail has become impressed and and quite intrigued with his quirky behaviour and mannerisms. The feelings are mutual. They both have a personal vendetta. This is an extremely fast paced non stop read bursting with action!!! I highly recommend!!
WOW. What a great team Brett makes in this series. The action and suspense is fantastic, special effects as well. A multi billionaire losses his family in a tragic terrorist bombing. 5 commercial jets are all shot down on the same day. Two years have past and Hail has gotten his own team together to make the terrorists pay for their actions. Never a dull moment. A must read for those who love thriller books
A continuation of his first book, Hail Storm, Brett Arquette has taken Marshall Hail's mission to assassinate the terrorists who had killed his wife and two daughters and others on the top ten terrorist list another step. The book has a fast moving plot and is an easy read - really liked it.
What a delight to read. I was given a free copy of Hail Storm (the first book in this series) by the author and immediately purchased and read this second book in the series and am anxious to read more when they are finished....
This work is just as entertaining as Arquette’s first work Operation Hail Storm. The final twist involving the bad guys were very interesting. Hi highly recommend this work for those who like thrillers...
Excellent book #2 Mr. Arquette! I thoroughly enjoyed the 1st, Hail Storm, and was pleased to find the sequel just as fascinating! I am a 79yr old great-grandmother and am by no means tech savvy, my simple cell phone and my Kindle are the boundaries of my tech world but because of my Kindle I was introduced to your work. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the intrigue, suspense and creativity involved in each story as Marshall Hail and his many young ingenues used their skills with their drones to take out the really bad guys! Love the fact that he recruits disadvantaged youth to give them a better life but one with purpose and meaning, the family that he so sadly lost, he is recreating for them! Can't wait for the next Hail book, but while I'm waiting think I'll read some of your earlier works!😊 A new Brett Marquette fan! Merrilyn McGloin
The second installment of the Hail saga continues in the same great form that the first installment did, engaging. I am really looking forward to the next book to come. Hopefully it will not be too far in the future, I really hate to wait a long time for a follow-up to a really good book. If you have not read either book, you should. But start with "Operation Hail Storm" it will give you some background for the second book.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Hail and company! It seems there’s plenty of room for more stories to come and I’m looking forward to them. :)
I also recommend The Pandemic Diary. It’s VERY different from the Hail series, despite being written by the same author, and it’s got a mind blowing twist in it. You will NOT see it coming! 😂 it’s a one-off, not a series, but it’s really good.
I just loved this book and really couldn't put it down. The amazing things the drones could do and the amount of researching that went into these 2 books, was astounding!! I can't wait for the next one!
Great job Mr. Arquette, on book #2 in your series. I preordered this after finishing book #1 and started reading it immediately after my download came in. I love being able to continue with characters and story lines, getting more backstories and just generally getting invested long term in the characters. Can't wait to see what Marshall and Kara get themselves into next. So Mr. Arquette, Top 10 Terrorists...does that mean 10 books? I'm game if you are!
Wow! I couldn’t put it down. This is amazingly good. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series and see what Kara and Marshall will get up to. Really great characters. The ones you are supposed to love are love and those you hate are totally horrible.

Another very good fast paced techno-thriller from Brett Arquette, a direct sequel to Operation Hail Storm that takes up where Operation Hail Storm ended. This is number two in what I hope will be a long series of books. The same concepts refined and honed, and not all drones fly! There is some interesting character growth too. With some not so nice guys on the good side. Interesting use of back story with one of the terrorist perpetrators of “The Five” and some historical background of one of the current bad guys, and an interesting twist in the tail they could lead to a spin off book with Marshall reduced to a supporting role. Not so much of the technical detail about the battery power, weights, etc. but it’s still there with some new developments too. I found it another good read and hard to put down, next one please!
Marshall Hail and the crews of the HAIL PROTON & HAIL NUTRON successfully eliminate a second terrorist, a jihardi who shot down one of The Five airliners, the one that took off from Venezuela. And now one of Marshall’s cast of characters has gone rogue. How soon will book 3 be out?
Great sequel to Hail Storm. Arquette has now gotten on a roll with two great books in a row. being technical myself, I love his integration of pure concepts into real devices! Maybe he will be the next Tom Clancy.
Well what can I say, I loved the first book with Marshall Hail, although I did admit in my comments that sometimes the technology aspects of the book were way behind me as in my family I am not the technical minded one. Bless my husband as he used to be into IT and quite often I will ask him to explain some of the Acronyms and what the feasibility of what is happening in the book.
He often tells me to go with the flow as the abilities of technology far outweigh anything we as humans can imagine in any one day.
I so loved the continuing story of Marshall and his love interest and seeing where that might go. But although I probably should not admit it but I love the aspect of revenge and justice which runs through this book like a vein in your body.
The way the author Brett Arquette has left the story at the end leaves you wanting more and to see how the story evolves over time. Highly recommended.
If you put it down and keep thinking about it then you know it is a good book. Can't wait for the next book. There are a couple of small distractions. 1. Writing something in another countries alphabet is a real turn off. I am an American, born and raised. I find gibberish totally distracting. Use American phonetic to get the point across. 2. Redundancy is a waste of my time. If two people are remembering something the exact same way the only day it once. It only needs written once unless the points of view are different. These are minor points to most but as distracting to me as using there, they're and their incorrectly.
The Hail revenge search for the terrorists responsible for the slaughter of his family intensifies in this sequel to Hail Storm. The characters become more human and the drones more aggressive and amazing as the search begins to bear fruit. The involvement of US president, CIA, and Marshall Hail the wealthy man all determined to be the the controlling operative in this good read. As this book ends with new concerns rising for a CIA agent and Marshall, this man with all his wealth that will not resolve this new issue for him... and he is helpless.:k
Rated PG-13+ Violence - a terror attack is described. It's horrible, but not so horrible that a fairly mature reader cannot handle it. We see as much on TV. Limited strong language. 1/4 of an F-bomb. No sex No drugs
I completed this book in December 2017 and have learned from the author that he intends another round of proofreading to address grammatical and punctuation errors.
Characters: Marshall Hail - bazillionaire whose driving force is to wreak vengeance on those who orchestrated the terror attack that killed his wife and children. Success is only a matter of time and intelligence. He's got the ships, he's got the drones and technology, and he's got the crew (many of whom are also alone because of the attack). Kara - Stunningly beautiful and brilliant CIA operative who has been assigned to Hail by the US. Her family, also, was killed in the terror attack called "The Five." Kornev - Russian arms dealer Afua - Nigerian terrorist*
Noteworthy: there are significant references to the first book in the series - enough so that a reader will know how that story ended. You can read this one first, but it will make more sense if they're read in order.
Plot (no spoilers): Hail wants to rid this earth of Kornev-the-arms-dealer. Kara convinces Hail that he can be used to find other terrorists. They plot how to rid the world of Afua, the leader of a well-organized jihadist group. This is no easy task since he stays out of reach in his Nigerian compound and has the local government bullied into leaving him and his followers alone.
*We learn through flashbacks about Afua's induction into a jihadist group. We see how he was turned into a ruthless killer step by step, and we come to understand how a man can hold a set of beliefs that are diametrically opposed to his actions. Our author, Mr. Arquette, does a brilliant job of making this despicable person almost, but not quite, a sympathetic character.
A thoroughly enjoyable techno-thriller. I have also read the first book in the series (Operation Hail Storm) and I am pleased to say that this book is even better. The already likable and relatable characters are better developed and the back-story is better fleshed-out. I don't find any of the premises highly implausible, so suspension of disbelief is not realy necessary (except for the part that has to do with Baako's "ascencion" but I will not give anything away) and this makes the whole book easy to follow and thoroughly enjoyable. I'm really looking forward to the third book!
Loved this read! I am not usually a fan of this type of story (political, tech-y, planes, ships, FBI,CIA, gun runners, terrorists...) BUT this is so well written that it captivates you from the 1st book (Hail#1)and practically DEMANDS your subconscious to read on with the 2nd book (Hail#2). just do it! Jump in! and be ready to have your imagination captured and lured into a really cool imaginary(or is it?) world !
