Tig immediately responds to Charlotte’s sweet demeanor, and feels compelled to encourage the fragile woman from underneath her veneer of perfection. It had promising description, but disappointing contents.
I like when there is some age difference between MCs. But this couple didn't work out for me.
She was older but more stupid and acted like a teen.
She was totally a cougar. The hero was complaining a lot about his sore d*CK!
I skipped a lot, there was a lot of smutty sex, but not really good content.
The hero wasn't sure about him and his woman. I don't think their relationship will last...
It was my third book from this author, and previously two j liked a lot.
No cheating. No OP scenes.

I gave this book 4 stars!

Dang! We not only get a up and coming MMA hottie but a cowboy too!

Tig is every girl dream guy but he has to figure out if he wants the life of a cowboy or of a MMA fighter. Charlotte has it all wealth, family and career. She is tired of the lifestyle her parents want her to have. She wants to live her life.

When Charlotte has a chance encounter with Tig, he impress her with his complete honesty and his confidence. The more time these two spend the together the more chemistry them seem to have. When Tig gives into familial pressure, a frustrated and heartbroken Charlotte has to convict him to take his own advice and become the man he wants to be.

This book has melting panty scenes and has several Hot MMA fighters. My only complaint would be that it didn't go in detail at times and other times is to much details. This author is new to me and I would hesitate to pick up another one of her books.

Five Fighting Stars! Charlotte is the obedient daughter who does what her parents say, lives where her parents want her to live, and dates who her parents want her to date. She is ready to change things. Tig is a up and coming MMA fighter and also helps his family with the farm. He sees Charlotte in a bar and has a strong attraction towards her. Will Charlotte's a! put the book down. I loved the characters and how they felt about one another. I throughly enjoyed this book and the author's style of writing. This is the first book in the DS Fighting Club Series. I am looking forward to the next one! Highly recommend!

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. This book was read and reviewed by Annamaria for Alpha Book Club.

Review:
“‘Every time you say my name three times, something wonderful happens. If there’s not going to be any more wonderful, I don’t want you to say my name.’ She would not look at him, could not look at him, so she fixed her eyes on the lamp that she especially despised.”

5 fight me stars!!! Tig, Tig, Tig…. that’s all you need to know!!!

I’ve read plenty of MMA books, but this one is different. There’s more heart and heat in this book than I could have ever imagined!! Tig is perfection, he’s got charisma and oozes sex the minute he walks on the page! And Charlotte I loved her wanting to live on the edge and not be the perfect girl everyone thinks she is. This is the first book I’ve read by Josie, but I know that after reading this book I’ll definitely be reading more… and I definitely can’t wait to read the next book in the series!!

I Really Enjoyed This Amazing Book. Which Was So Much More Than A Fighting Book. It Had A Lot To It And Was So Much Better For It. I Was So Emotional  Reading This Book And Could Relate To Charlotte And My Heart Bleed For Her Throughout.

Charlotte Had Low Self-esteem Which Was Bought On My Her Vulgar Parents And In Tig She Found Her Someone, Her Cheerleader. Tig However Was A Complicated Man Whom Had His Own Struggles Family Related. And In Her He Found His Hope And His Love.

This Story Is Beautifully Written And Is So Different To Alot Of The Fighting Books I Have Read. It Yes Is A Book About A Fighter But Also About People Who Feel Unloved, Have No Self-esteem, No Hope And They Struggle Daily With Situations And Can't Believe People Will Help Without Wanting Anything In Return, People Without An Agenda.

Josie Kerr Is My Kind Of Writer It Was A Breath Of Fresh Air Not To Read A Book About Body Beautiful Characters That Were Perfect, These People Had Flaws And Blemishes, Bravo. I So Look Forward To The Next Installment Of This Series That Looks Like It's Gonna Be A Must Read For Me.

This story was great. I think both of these characters’ chemistry was definitely off the charts. I really enjoyed the Family drama, passion, action, and the characters coming together was pretty great. This book is also a favorite because both of the characters are over the age of 30 and both are finding their way to each other. Both characters are going through struggles that will either keep them together or draw them apart. This book kept me interested from the beginning till the end. For me this book lacked for nothing because it has some of everything that will keep a reader interested and held for hours from the beginning till the end.
Charlotte and Trevor both have struggles that try to tear down their world. These characters definitely have real life struggles trying to save your family and finding what makes you happy. This book made me want more and I can’t wait to see what’s next for Ms. Kerr because if this is anything to go by then I need more.

This was my first book by this author and I will definitely be keeping up with this series.

Tig is a sweetheart, even for being a "fighter". He's definitely more lover than fighter. His southern charm and manners were just refreshing.

Charlotte is the proper lady who does what her parents want, live where her parents picked out, date the man her parents want her to date and eventually marry. And she's just tired of it. At 36, she's tired of living for her parents and wants to start living for her. And the first act, to get to know Tig more. Even though he's a couple years younger, she doesn't let that stop her. And more power to her!

Tig & Charlotte have a bumpy ride with each family fighting their relationship and doing whatever they can to end it.

I love these fighters and will be keeping an eye out for book 2.

Review:
What a double threat book, hot cowboy and a MMA fighter all in one package. This was a great combination. This book is the first book in the DA fighter series. It sets up a great series.

Charlotte and Tig are the perfect example of opposites attract. Charlotte is from a high class family that expects perfection. Tig grew up on a peanut farm that has struggled to keep afloat. Tig has been fighting in every fight he comes across to help the family keep their ranch. Charlotte's family doesn't approve of her choice to be with Tig but she doesn't care.

Tig and Charlotte have the share of demons but they manage to get passed them and bond a lasting relationship. I loved how their relationship developed. I can't wait to see where this author takes this series.

Kicker by Josie Kerr is the first book in the DS Fight Club Series. If you are looking for a book that focuses more on the MMA fighting aspect and less on the characters themselves, then this is not the book for you. Kicker is a story about an MMA fighter, but it is more than that. It is a book about finding the courage to stand up for yourself and go after what truly makes you happy. It is a book about living your life for you and not for other people. It is a book about finding love in an unlikely place.

Charlotte Markham comes from a rich family where she has always done what is expected of her by her parents, parents whom she calls by their first name. She lives in the apartment that her father has chosen and purchased for her that is decorated by her mother without any of her own flair. Charlotte has been set up on dates with the "right" men by her father and with what he believes is the "right" job for his daughter. None of these things are actually what makes Charlotte happy. She finally begins to find herself and do things that she wants to do, starting with finding a job all on her own that she enjoys. It is while at this new job that Charlotte actually makes real friends and meets Tig Mashburn.

Trevor 'Tig" Mashburn is a peanut farmer turned fighter. He has just begun his climb in the MMA fighting world with an amazing group at the gym to support and train with him. But the money from fights isn't enough to keep the family farm afloat after hard times and he participates in unsanctioned fights, fights that could lead to unnecessary injuries that he just can't afford. After winning Fight of the Night, he sees Charlotte across the room, all prim and proper and he is instantly attracted to her, but feels she is way out of his league.

What ensues is a relationship, the first one that Charlotte has entered into on her own terms, and has fought for because it makes her happy. This time her father cannot get in her way, or can he? While Charlotte slowly takes her life back from her overbearing privileged parents, one step at a time, Tig begins making a name for himself hoping to become the next big thing in the fighting world. Are the feelings that begin between them enough or will their be too many obstacles in their way? You need to read to find out.

Charlotte is on the other side of 35 which makes her closer to being 40
Tig is 29
Charlotte is a rule follower and her parents set the rules
Tig fights in illegal underground fights
Charlotte is born with a silver spoon and country club membership
Tig is a part time peanut farmer, wannabe MMA fighter and needs new tires on his old Datsun
Charlotte doubts herself constantly from her clothes to what she eats
Tig is confident, honest, is comfortable in his own skin and bottomless pit

Ms. Kerr has a great story of two people from different social status and upbringing and as different as night and day. Charlotte has is controlled by her parents and for the first time, she's finally doing something without their permission by getting a new job. Her co-workers become her friends and help build her confidence to see the beauty in herself and help her face her fear, her Dad.

Tig is a proud and responsible guy. He sends his winnings to his mama to help with the farm but his pride is also his own downfall. He won't ask for help even though it’s offered from his DSFC brothers.

The story is a feel good one. They both find the courage in each other to face their troubles. Charlotte finally finds the courage within herself to make changes in her life for her and not for anyone else. Tig has listened to his cutman and finally sinks in that asking for help doesn’t make you a weak man but a strong one.

Love the cowboy/mma fighter combo and Ms. Perfect was a good wrench thrown in the wheel. I enjoy the unfiltered mouth of Tig and the thoughts that run thru Ms. Perfect's mind when things are getting HOT are laughable! I can see myself think the same things!

Ms. Kerr has characters in this book that has intrigued me to know their story.

Kicker is the first book the DS Fight Club Series by author Josie Kerr. Whilst this is a sweet romance story based around a fight club, the author has done a great job at keeping the story focused on the characters and their relationships and avoiding the details of the actual fighting.

For me the story had plenty of potential but it didn’t quite hit the mark, there was just something lacking. Parts of the story were really drawn out, and others I felt needed more details.

I loved the idea of the female lead, Charlotte, being a little older at 36, but she was not a strong enough character to hold my interest. Tig was more interesting to read about, but as a 29 year old cage fighter and someone who was supposedly helping to keep the family farm afloat, I expected him to be a little more alpha male but he came across as very young and a little immature.

I enjoyed reading about the relationships between Tig and his teammates and Charlotte and her new work colleagues/friends but I just didn’t connect with any of the characters, and the only person that really piqued my interest was Pierce who was only ever mentioned briefly, he was intense and maybe has a story to tell.

Lastly the manner in which the book was written was a little confusing, it seemed to switch between alternating POV’s and third person, but the switch would take place mid chapter. Overall the story is an easy read.

Received a copy of this book for an honest review.
This was my first book by this author and after getting a third of the way through I quickly bought her other books. The characters intrigued me and the banter was witty and fun.
Tig is determined to make it as an MMA fighter. He is smaller than the others but has a heart the size of the grand canyon. He is an amazing character that puts everyone else before himself. He does what he needs to in order to help his parents with the farm even if he could loose everything in the process. I love his character he is so full of life and well bounce. He may be one of my favorite book boyfriends.
He may be small but he is determined to make it. He is fast and agile with a inner strength that is astounding. When he sees the beautiful woman across the bar he is immediately smitten.
Charlotte is beautiful both inside and out. She has her own style and may look prissy but has a wilder side as well. When she witnesses a fighter being carried around the bar in celebration she is intrigued but keeps her distance.
When these two meet again the immediate chemistry is undeniable. Tig balances out Charlotte and helps her free herself. He has things he needs to reveal however his side job may come with more consequences that he imagined.

** ARC PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW **

This is the first novel that I have read by this talented author but it will not be the last. The first in the DS Fight Club Series, Kicker is so much more than I expected. Josie Kerr has done a phenomenal job in being able to focus on the characters and the beautiful story line without letting it become over shadowed by the Fight Club aspect. The flow was perfect and the characters well developed.

A story of two people each battling their own demons. Self doubt, family troubles and drama plague both. How they deal with the past without letting it taint their future is the true brilliance of the story.

Charlotte and Tig are polar opposites in some aspects and completely compatible in others. They understand each other and when things heat up the story starts to get a whole other feel. One of passion, determination and FIGHT ..

Will these two be able to overcome their own demons or will the obstacles thrown in their way at every turn burn out the flame that has begun to burn ?

Kicker is a fantastic way to kick off a series that I can't wait to read more of.

This is my favorite Josie Kerr book!

Tig is a guy you want to get to know! He's a fighter by profession, but in life he also knows what he wants and fights to get it. Lately, however, he questions his future and his loyalty to his career. Something's got to give.

Charlotte lives under her parents' thumbs and she always thought it was okay. But she's beginning to wonder how much happier she'd be if she did things her way for a change.

Tig and Charlotte run into each other a few times and attraction builds. But both of them endure and charge through their own personal struggles which assist in their hesitation on one another.

This book gives you angst, a taste of suspense, and a lot of steamy scenes!!! You don't want to miss out in Tig and Charlotte's story. The best of Kerr's yet!

Received a copy. This is my first read by Josie Kerr. Tig and Charlotte are great characters. They are two people that were very interesting to read. They are fierce in their own ways. Tig is a fighter and he has a heart that should be made out of pure gold and enough heat to melt your heart. Charlotte has her own image of herself and I enjoy the fact that Tig did not let her hide behind it. She is a gorgeous woman through and through. When these two come together the sparks are flying. I like how the story starts and unfolds. The best part is watching the journey that Tig and Charlotte take together.

Charlotte has a new job and new friends and is starting to realise that her parents are doing nothing but trying to control her life and she’s going to stop it.
When Charlotte meets Tig, she can’t stop looking at him and when they meet again by chance they both want to see each other again. Tig starts to realise that Charlotte doesn’t get to choose what she wants to do with her live and lets her know that she can, and she can change it. Tig also starts to see some of Charlotte’s insecurities and wants to help her realise she’s a beautiful woman.
The sparks fly when they are together, but they have so much working against them including their families telling them that they are wrong for each other. To make things work, Charlotte will finally have to stand up to her controlling parents at 36 and Tig will have to let go of his insecurities that he’s not good enough for her. A great mix of a fighter and romance.

Kicker was nothing I expected. Less tougher that I thought, more sweeter and well focused on the characters and their relationships. When I believed that the fighting part would overstepped in the story, I was wrong.

So when the hot Kickboxer met « little miss perfect ». Recipe for a disaster?? Definitely not.

Both from different backgrounds and lifestyles, they matched perfectly.

Charlotte Markham comes from a rich family, trevor « Tig » Washburn is a peanut farmer turned fighter.  She’s been held up for all her life, trying to content everyone, while Tig was carefree. They were so different but also so complementary.

As individuals, they had to face their own issues, pressure from their family. They had a great chemistry and the author managed to develop their relationship in a great way.  This confident man was trying to help this woman to break free. I loved how they both work as a couple, hot and cute at the same time. The idea of a female lead was an interesting idea but I felt more connected with Tig though. He was the kind of character with his charisma and attractive aura.

I enjoyed reading Charlotte and Tig’s story, but I felt that some parts were missing out. Sometimes I wanted more and sometimes less. This book had some great elements in here but it was not enough to me. I was confused at times I had to read some parts more than once due to the alternating POV.

I was intrigued by the characters, and I’m curious to discover their stories as well. Kicker was sweet and hot!

Charlotte is 36 year old woman who still hasn't figured out how to stand up to her parents. She starts working at Tara Security Systems against her father's wishes. Working at Tara has brought out a side of Charlotte and helping her get the back bone she needs.
Trevor or Tig is a fighter for the DS Fight Club. He also takes some under ground fights because he needs the money. Being a above the belt fighter doesn't pay as much as he would like especially when he has the responsibility of the farm also.
The 2 meet at a bar and hit it off fairly well. But she isn't sure if they would work because he is younger then she is and a little more free to do what he wants. She still lives in an apartment her parents pay for. With them both willing to go all in they try to go all in and see where the relationship leads. But with meddling father's and parents who think she is slumming it, it's hard to have an all in relationship. Fate has a way of stepping in when 2 people are meant to be.

Charlotte and Trevor are so cute together. I felt that these two together were a match made in heaven. She started out as an uptight woman with no back bone and Trevor brought out a side in her she always knew was there. Trevor was this man on a mission at first, do anything to make money and Charlotte showed him that he can ask for help if he needs it. They both realized that they can trust one another and most of all themselves.
I loved this book from start to finish. This is a book I wish I could unread to read again. I look forward to more books in this series.

A sweet romance between a woman dying to break free and the younger, confident man who wants to show her how.
This is book one in the DS Fight Club series. The male MC is a fighter, but that is not at all the focus of the book. So if you are expecting a lot of fight scenes or even that testosterone overload type of thing, then this book is not for you. The fact that Tig is part of the fight club is really an aside.
Did I love this book? No. Did I like it? Yes. It had its moments and, honestly, I was kind of happy with how Tig was written. I did not connect well with Charlotte. I felt she was too immature for a 36 year old. Separately, they were okay, but when they are together on a page they were good.
Fans of sweet romances will enjoy this.
