Athena Johnson is at a crucial point in her career. To climb any higher in the ranks of academia and the women’s studies department of her university, she must write a book on the cultural and societal impact that the Bible has had on modern day feminism. Easy enough, right? It’s only when she gets deeper into her studies that she makes the somewhat horrifying discovery that God just might not be who she thinks He is and that knowing Him will mean facing a past that she’d rather forget. With the help of Nate, a longtime friend who quickly becomes so much more, Athena will encounter faith and a Jesus that she has never truly known, opening up the future to a whole new world of possibilities.
Worth It is a redemptive story about finding Christ in even the low moments of life. While it is Christian fiction, the book deals with sensitive topics and details not often found in this genre and may make some readers uncomfortable.
Jenn Faulk is a native Texan who enjoys reading and writing chick lit. She's a pastor's wife, a stay-at-home mom, and a marathon enthusiast who loves talking about Jesus and what a difference He's made in her life. She has a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Houston and a MA in Missiology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
While all of Jenn's books are standalone novels with no cliffhanger endings, incomplete plots, or questions left unanswered, there is a suggested reading order that might be helpful as you get into the books...

No pun intended, but this book is WORTH IT. Get it.
It’s no secret I’ve been a Jenn Faulk fan since I first got my Kindle Unlimited subscription a few years ago. But this? This book is by far, leaps and bounds, no comparison, in my opinion, her best book yet. This story pushes the limits of what readers expect of Christian fiction, and yet it is exactly what Christian fiction should be. Two fallen people, raised as believers and yet never truly being transformed, develop a friendship that grows over time and is constrained from going further by disparity in beliefs, moral choices, the past, and the knowledge that choosing love means facing all of those things and willingly letting God become everything. This book is hilarious at times, heart wrenching at others, and yet always points to Jesus and a loving God who cares about women more than we know. Jenn tells poignant truths we women need to hear, need to know, and need to internalize to truly find our full freedom in Christ. I’m leaving this book changed, and that’s a great feat for a fictional work. Can not recommend it enough.
Athena is Mia's twin and they are daughters of Rachel and Micah. Nate is the son of Marie and Scott.
Athena is a die hard feminist. Radical. Girl power fist in the air, feminist to the core. She meets Nate at Mia and Ethan's wedding and they grow to be best friends, practically connected at the hip. Both made professions to Christ at a young age...Athena, only because Mia talked her into it. Nate, maybe his was real... I'm not sure because he was not living for Christ.
As Athena gets ready to write a book about how the Bible degrades women and keeps them under men's control, her eyes are slowly opened to how the Lord truly sees us.
It was so cool to "see" Daniel and Willum again! I love those two old guys. A lot of wisdom to be gleaned from those two!
Athena and Nate are in University studying and teaching and have become very good friends. Athena is bold and head strong. She decides to write a book on how the Bible demeans women. She decides to study the entire Bible to build her case. In the meant time Nate feels he is a Christian but is not giving God the time of day. Athena is holding onto a dreaded secret from her past. This is an excellent story of their journey back to God and into a deeper relationship with each other. Excellent book.
Thank you for this book. It is so incredibly profound. I loved it, the scriptural research, their transformation by the water of the Word of God, her changing her biblical name about God’s abundance to a Greek goddess, the story of God’s redemption and those women from the Bible, the book of John. Looking forward to so many more of your books and the increased maturity in your writing.
Holy Moly this book and all the feels!! A feminist teaching in the Women’s Department at the university and writing her dissertation on Women and the Bible. Jenn does not shy away from the real life subjects we deal with - which is why I absolutely love her books. So you can guess how long the feminist keeps her job. Great book you gotta read it !!
This book is emotionally wrenching - one minute you're laughing and the next crying! Faulk does a great job in showing how exposure to the truth of the Bible can transform hearts and lives. It's also quite the Huntington family reunion too :-)
