Winx was an Australian racehorse that was foaled in 2011 at Coolmore Stud. Her sire was Street Cry, a successful horse that had a pedigree that included Mr. Prospector and Raise A Native. She was a talented horse, and became a crowd favorite. She won 37 out of 43 starts, 11 of which were consecutive. She was also named Australian Horse of the Year four years in a row. Unfortunately, she has not been very successful as a broodmare. This was a pretty detailed book. I know very little about Australian racehorses, so this was a treat.

I didnt realise the intricacies of horse racing. The relationship of the jockey and the horse the character a horse has on race day and all the work the trainers and staff do on a daily basis. Winx is a incredible story of a horse that managed to overcome all odds.

Was a good read, towards the end I struggled to stay motivated in it. A lot of it probably didn’t need to be included in the book.
