My name hasn’t always been Logan and I haven’t always been a Bright.
Once upon a time, my name was Matthew Collins and my father is The Family Man, one of the most brutal and notorious serial killer this country has ever known. When I was nine years old, he killed my mother… and then he just kept on killing.
Who I am has always been a secret. What I’ve been through and the things that I’ve seen have always been off-limits. Something I don’t talk about. Not with anyone—not even my brothers—and if anyone gets too close to the truth about me or if one of father’s followers manages to find me, I do what I always do.
I run.
That’s what I should be doing right now.
I should be running.
Because not only does Jane Halstead know every one of my dark family secrets, she’s determined to drag them and me into the light. Jane knows everything about me but it doesn’t seem to matter. Every time I try to put any sort of distance between us, scare her into leaving me alone, she just closes the gap and refuses to listen.
She keeps getting closer and closer. Throws off the delicate balance between who I really am and who I pretend to be.
Even though I’m the monster, Jane’s the one who scares me.
USA Today best-selling author Megyn Ward lives on coffee, chocolate and more than the occasional glass of red wine. When she's not spending time with the hot, dirty-talking Alphas and the strong, capable women who love them who live in her head, she's busy chasing chickens (and kids), hanging laundry and burning dinner. Either way, she is almost always in the company of her eight dogs, her truest and most faithful companions, and her almost as faithful husband, Joe. Megyn is also the author of the award-winning Sabrina Vaughn thriller series, written under the name Maegan Beaumont.
When we met Logan at Gilroy's, I was dying for his story!
He met every one of my expectations.
We get to see his brothers; two of whom I am looking forward to learning more about; Gilroys; because that family is fantabulous; and the ladies who tie them up in knots!!
Jane works for Declan & Patrick. She's close to Logan's sister-in-law, Silver. So their paths cross when they both come to the hospital to meet the newest Bright.
Jane certainly didn't expect to meet the grown up boy she has secretly crushed on since she was 14. And Logan doesn't expect to hear his birth name after so many years of hiding from it.
What comes next is chemistry, curiosity, obsession, magnetic attraction, and someone finding their way toward a happy ending even after his secret isn't so secret anymore.
One thing is certain, they are meant to be. And blood isn't what makes you who you are.

4.5* This is technically the second book in the series. This is Logan and Jane's story. If you read The Gilroy Clan Series then you met Connor's friend and bartender Logan who happens to be Tobias's brother and Jane is Silver's best friend. I was curious of Logan when he appeared in the Gilroy Series and wow what a background. I don't want to give anything away but once again Megyn gives me a story that just has me so invested in the couple I can't put it down. Logan is always guarded and always calculating his every move and when he meets Jane his brother's girlfriend best friend he is thrown for a loop because somehow she knows about his past while he has never met her. Jane is a bit impulsive and reacts before she thinks and sometimes doesn't think about the consequences. Great storyline and wonderful characters, especially cameos from my favorite Gilroy boys. Can't wait to read the other brother's story too!

Logan tries to keep his true identity a secret - his father was a serial killer. A couple of people know, including Jane. Her mother was his temporary guardian ad litem, and Jane sneaked a peek at his file. Their paths cross years later, when they're both working for the Gilroys. This is the second book in this series - the first was amazing. Both include related characters from the Gilroy series, which I have not read but have put on my list TBR soon. IT's not difficult to figure out who's who, though. I really loved this book - could not put it down. Jane is an act first, then think person; she's done that her whole life, and it mostly works out. I love how much she trusts Logan, even when he tries to push her away. He's an incredible guy, but he doesn't trust himself until it's almost too late with Jane. I love all the cat t-shirts. Logan is the second book in The Kings of Brighton series by Megyn Ward. I really enjoyed this book and story of Logan and Jane. You just have to feel for Logan as he hides who he really is because of who his father is. Jane knows because of something she found out when she should not have been looking. Now it is years later and they are both adults when their paths cross. What will happen now?
I found this book to be well written with a great story-line that was nicely constructed. The characters are well developed even as they try to hide things from their pasts. But sometimes you just need someone to really see who you are deep down and not pass judgement because of the actions of those around you. For Logan that person turns out to be Jane, even if he did not know that is what he needed.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Just like all the books in Gilroy clan and Kings of Brighton series it swallows you whole. This time we learn the story behind Logan. It was interesting to get to know him a bit closer. To discover the way his mind works and how he interacts with the world and especially the WHY? of it. In all the other books his presence has been brief and it was a long time coming this opportunity to get better acquainted. The only thing I did not like was the fact that the journey was so short. At least for me. Did I like the book – yes. Would I recommend it – yes. Especially to all who love the work of Megyn Ward and also to those who have not discovered her yet – you will binge read all her books once you get the taste.

Logan (The Kings of Brighton) by Megyn Ward. WOW- there is some heavy stuff going on with Logan! Dark and twisted family life to say the least. It was heartbreaking to read through as he struggled with whether he was just like his father or not. Jane without realizing it has been a witness to his past and is there with him now for the long haul. I liked Jane; her nature and perseverance made me smile. I’ve read the previous book Tobias but not the previous series Gilroy Clan and I have to say while characters from previous series and book do play a role, you do not need to read the others before this. This book is filled with dark drama, personal conflicts, tormented characters and sexy scenes. I enjoyed it and would recommend this book and author to others. Who knew there was such a dark secret Logan was hiding behind all those cat t-shirts? He's been hiding for years, moving from place to place, afraid someone would discover his secret. What can you say about Logan and Jane except they were meant for each other? Logan, who first appeared in the Gilroy clan novels, he of the cat t-shirts, has such a troubling past he believes no one could ever love him except Tobias, Grayson, and Jase. But Jane, with love and perseverance, is able to make Logan believe that his past is in the past and not who he is now. She give him courage to stop running, confront his past, and move on to a life filled with Jane and love.

Both romantic and tortured 4.5 It's a great romance, quite complex in that the main male character, Logan, is the son of a serial killer and he thinks he could be like his father. Without knowing it, he has a connection to Jane, who is the person who indirectly saved him from imprisonment, offered him a life when she was a year younger than him and a teenager. When their adult paths cross, his mind's twisting path and his attraction to Jane, constantly clash. The characters are excellent and the story is punctuated by letters received from the manipulative father who is imprisoned but who plays with his son's brain. It’s a great story. I loved this book! The writing and storytelling is excellent. I have been remiss in not reading this author's works before but after reading Tobias (the first book of the series) and now Logan, Megyn Ward is a must read author for me now. The characters are well developed and sympathetic and I really cared about them. Lots of chemistry between tortured soul Logan (his back story is heart-wrenching) and persistent Jane, the woman who will not give up on him. The story is well-paced and absorbing, a truly wonderful read.

I just wanted to hug Logan so much throughout this entire book! It is so incredible how much damage our parents or guardians can inflict on a child… to see his pain highlighted through out this book, how real it was and felt just broke my heart. But waking up everyday and knowing you’re choosing to be a decent human being despite the hand you’ve been dealt is just admiral. I’m so glad Jane did not give in and forced her mom to help Logan.. and the fact that they are brought back together and she helps Logan heal… is just so sweet. What a great book! A totally well deserved HEA.
CW - previous abuse, foster care, family member in prison
I love this book. I love the characters.
Logan is a character with a truly traumatic past. It alters his perception of self and he really doesn't want to be attached to anyone - especially a woman who knows everything about his past.
Also, as a heads up, we have some serious ethics violations throughout.
Jane had a crush on the boy that Logan was and now she is very attracted to the man. She can't leave him alone - especially as they work together.
What results is a truly angsty and gripping romance which I adored. I will read this again.
I enjoyed this new "Kings of Brighton" story. It is so captivating that I could not put it down until the very end. This is Logan and Jane's story. Logan's dad is a piece of work who has done a number on his son. Logan hides a lot and runs from his past. Jane stumbled on something when she was younger that made her feel for Logan and realize he is worth helping. These two meet later in life and what a journey. This is an engrossing story with dark parts, torment, passion, perseverance, love and so much more.
This is Logan (The Kings of Brighton Book 2) by Megyn Ward and I enjoyed this book. This is Jane and Logan story, his dad was a serial killer so Logan runs and hides from his past a lot. Janes mother was his temporary guardian back then and she sneaked a peek at his file they meet years later, when they're both working for the Gilroys when they both go to the hospital to meet the newest. It was an amazing story that was well written and developed and I can't wait to read more.

Logan is the second book in the Kings of Brighton series and focuses on Logan and Jane's romantic story. Logan had a traumatic upbringing as his father was a serial killer and he questions his own inner self as what he can be capable of committing. Jane is interested in Logan and has a way drawing out his feelings which results in decreasing his isolation from others. This is a unique romantic story with well developed characters. I highly recommend this read.

I’ve been waiting since Logan first showed up in Pushing Patrick to finally get his story and it didn’t disappoint! I also loved learning more about Jane and the way all of their stories have tied together. I am also loving the Kings of Brighton as much as I have loved the Gilroy Clan! I don’t want to spoil anyone, but Logan may be my favorite of the bunch and I love the Gilroy Clan a lot! I am very excited to see Grey and Delilah’s story and super intrigued by Jase after the glimpse he gave Logan into his past. I never want these series to end!
I love Logan. Not just the book but the man himself. He had me under his magical spell. I couldn't read fast enough yet was kinda sad to finish it.
Megyn has a way of giving the kind of characters who reach deep in you and take a piece with them. This one packs alot and has no problem delivering the goods that any romance fan could get behind. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
Good follow up to Tobias, book one of King’s of Brighton series. I liked all the family tie ins from the other book, and with the Gilroy Clan books. The world is nice to be in. The build up to Logan and Jane having sex felt kinda slow to me, but I guess I’m comparing too Gilroy clan where things start hot and heavy earlier on! Lol. Would recommend reading, all Megyn Ward books are great.

While this was a nice hot story with Logan and Jane, there was quite a bit of intensity that I liked as Logan runs from his families past. These two ended up making such a great pair though, that all I wanted to tell Logan to do is to stop running from everything. The emotions that are swirling around these two and the angst of Logan will leave you hoping for more, long before the ending comes around

An exceptional addition to the Kings of Brighton series! The story line is well-developed, funny, witty, emotionally deep, and well written with twists, drama, secrets, ups and downs, strong and stubborn characters, off the charts chemistry, a HEA, and more. Looking forward to the next book. Definitely recommended!

Loved this book!! The storyline was completely different from the usual. Logan, a very broken soul meets Jane, a busybody that is so impulsive, she can’t seem to keep herself out of trouble. Opposites that match perfectly. But will it work or will he run like he has his whole life? Lots of unexpected happenings through out this book, it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Don’t miss this one.
This will be a repetitive review. Because I will post the same for all 4 books in this series. This is my first time reading this author. Absolutely love her style! These characters are wonderful. But they have flaws. They are like the people you know and you meet every day. I want to talk about them. Heck I want to have conversations with some of them. There is some abuse from their pasts that is discussed. So if that is a trigger for you.... Be forewarned. Do I recommend? Absolutely!
I really love the Gi!Roy Clan and it continues and expands in the Brighton series expertly. The nuances of all these big personalities in one friend and family group is wonderful, never boring, always real. Always entertaining leaving you hanging on waiting on the next story or character regardless and inspite of plot. You just want to keep getting to know new Gilroys!
Loving this Kings of Brighton series!! Logan and Jane have an interesting start. Logan's backstory was so intriguing! I wanted more of that! Jane is a total snooper!! I could not get behind the level of snoop - but I still loved her and was sucked in to the story. I love Megyn's alpha writing style!!
So good, I am sad I finished it. Lots of emotions and suspense. I really enjoyed Logan in the Gilroy series and it was so awesome to see some of those characters woven in seemlessly. It was also nice to get a peak at how Silver and Tobias are doing. Beautifully broken Logan healing was by far the best part. Did I mention I loooooved this? So much
This was a great book with a character that wants to protects his secrets. It was a really engaging book and I enjoyed the plot. The characters were very well developed and I could not put it down! I would recommend it to all!!

Logan will steal your heart. He is terrified of becoming a monster so he hides his history and tries to keep everyone at arms length. Jane has been fascinated with Logan's childhood even before she'd ever met him. Their lives have intertwined & Logan just wants to run and hide. Another wonderful story by Megyn Ward!
This is the story of Logan and Jane. He had a traumatic childhood and has been running from it ever since to protect his close friends and family. This has been working for him until he meets Jane. Then everything is going to change. I enjoyed this engaging romance. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
