I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review...You get a bunch of different stories from a bunch of different authors which brings you a different unique set of thoughts and entertainment for the holidays
Ten delightful stories; most are novella-length but a couple are full novel-length. Each has a uniquely feisty heroine and a swoon-worthy hero, with HEAs for all.
My favorite is one of the longer ones, “A Marquis for Marianne” by Catherine Bilson. Marianne and Alexander promise themselves to each other just before he heads off to war, but many years later she’s now widowed after marrying another, and he’s back from the war, scarred physically from battle and emotionally from Marianne’s betrayal. The truth is far more complex than he realizes, however, and their path back to each other was oh-so-romantic even while it was heartbreaking.
Another favorite is one of the shorter stories, “Christmastide with the Captain” by Tammy Andresen. Emilia rescues a shipwrecked Captain Jack and his crew just off the beach of her family’s castle, and their romance blossoms almost immediately. Jack is everything Emilia (or any woman) could want in a suitor, and theirs is a sweet love story.
The other stories are all terrific as well. This is a wonderful collection for anyone who loves historical Regency romances. It’s one of the best holiday collections I’ve read this year. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
What a wonderful collection by some of the best authors in Historical Romance!!
The Rouge's Seduction by Lauren Smith Perdita Darby was desperate. How desperate you ask? Enough to go to a known Rouge’s house, Lord Vaughn Darlington, and ask him to pretend to be her betrothed!! Pursed by a dangerous man, Samuel Milburn, who was trying to blackmail her, she needs protection and feels Vaughn could provide that for her. Being down on his luck and still grieving from the death of his brother, Vaughn begins to feel something come to life with Perdita's request. Her family was hosting a Christmas party and she planned for her father to announce their engagement so Milton would hopefully leave her alone!! The party proves interesting as secrets come out and the intrigue begins! Lauren Smith always delivers an engaging story that leaves the reader wanting more. I so enjoyed this story and fell in love with the characters!! You will too
Christmastide with My Captain by Tammy Andresen Love can be found in the most unusual places and sometimes it seems fate takes a hand. This is the case with Lady Emilia McDougal, who has no self esteem due to her beautiful sisters being married and she with no prospects. But as in most unusual situations, she is on the beach at her family castle when she rescues a Captain and some sailors from perishing when their ship tips in a storm. Captain Jack Andrews looks up and sees an angel as he is fished out of the water. As he spends time with Emilia, he sees a beautiful interesting woman and is immediately attracted to her. But he has some past secrets and feels unworthy of her affections. Emilia tries not to get her hopes up but feels a strong pull to Jack. A wonderfully written novella that warms the heart and gives hope to two souls who felt they did not deserve a lot out of life. In usual Tammy Andresen fashion, she always makes the characters and settings come alive. This is a story you do not want to miss!
How To Marry a Rake in Ten Days by Samantha Holt A second chance of two people coming together after years. Angelina was jilted by her fiance 8 yrs ago when his friend, Benedict, stepped in and convinced him to not marry her. To her credit, she became a writer for the column Miss Manners, giving advice. When a reader writes to challenge her to become engaged by New Years Day, her editor says she must respond and take up the challenge. What's a girl to do? She attends a holiday celebration at Fairfax Hall and who does she meet? None other than Benedict, the man who stopped her marriage! Rage filled her as her broken engagement had truly hurt her badly and made her lose her confidence. But the truth was Benedict had been jealous and about in love with her himself. Now that they are meeting again, can they find their way to a happy ending? Well written as all of Tammy Andresen's books, you will love this delightful story and be smiling at the end!
Wagering on Christmas by Sandra Sookoo Trying to win a wager is often a chance than many men will take and Colin Rowley, Viscount Hartsford is one of them. Going home for Christmas, widow, Lucy Ashbrook is forced to travel with him. Now why would that be so terrible? Well the two had a very emotional past and having to be in each other's company for the four day journey might be a trial. Could they remember the past and have it slowly bring them together again? I loved this story and Lucy and Colin as you get to know them and how fortuitous their paths crossed again. Of course it is Christmas and magic is always in the air. Sandra Sookoo always writes a story not to be missed and in this one you will feel the emotions of the characters and part of their story!!
Her Perfect Rogue by Amanda Mariel Send to a brothel, Julia Honeyfield runs away at her first opportunity. She runs into the arms of a Duke who helps by letting her be companion to his sister. Julia is determined to learn to be a lady and make the Duke proud for helping her. Can anything come of their attraction?
Secluded with My Hellion by Dawn Brower Love not spoken but Odessa Lynwood is determined to tell Gavin how she feels. She knows he returns her feelings and she had known him forever and he was their nearest neighbor. Beside that he was her brother's best friend. Going to see him and have it out, a blizzard develops and they end up stuck together in a cabin. Can they work out their feelings? Why has it taken so long? A wonderful novella that had me smiling at the end
London's favourite lady Perdita Darby seeks the help and protection of London's most wicked devil Vaughn Lord Darlington to escape a marriage to a cruel horrid man Samuel Milburn. I love the author’s books & her books are a must read for me, I absolutely loved this book from page one & just couldn’t put it down. The characterisation, as always, is very strong. Vaughn is sigh worthy, toe curlingly lovely, Perdy is a strong woman who has her own secrets. I loved that characters from other series (League of Rogues & Brothers of Ash & Fire) were included as it all adds to my enjoyment.
Christmastide with my Captain by Tammy Andresen 4s
Lady Emilia McDougal is looking out to sea making a wish when she espies a ship in trouble, she quickly lights the lamp in the lighthouse & rings the distress bell, she then rows out to help the crew of the strickened ship. An overloaded lifeboat capsizes as the final crew member is hauled into her boat she is captivated by a pair of blue eyes. Captain Jack Andrews lost his love of the sea long ago and he doesn't deserve to find the love of his life. A charming story of two people finding love but their insecurities & past threaten to tear them apart. The characters are well fleshed & the pace is very good, I read this in one sitting
A Marquis For Marianne by Catherine Bilson
A Blessing in Disguise by Kelly Anne Bruce
Secluded with My Hellion by Dawn Brower In the midst of the blizzard, Gavin Barrington, the Earl of Havenwood, and Lady Odessa Lynwood must overcome the earl's worst fears and figure out if their love can conquer the challenges they must face. Marchioness' Second Chance by Arietta Richmond
How To Marry a Rake in Ten Days by Samantha Holt 5s
Angelina Ashdown has written under her pseudonym of Miss Manners for so long she sometimes wonders who the real her is when she’s challenged by Miss Misbelieving to find a husband in ten days she has to rise to the challenge or her editor will terminate her contract. She goes to the Marquis of Fairfax’s houseparty thinking to persuade an old friend to marry her but Benedict Britton Earl of Calderton her nemesis is also attending. Another lovely novella of unrequited love, secrets, misunderstandings & skating accidents, the characters have depth & the pace is very good & I read it in a sitting. I was left with a warm feeling & satisfied with the out come
Prince of Christmas Past by Angelique Armae A second chance at love forces Prince Victor of Countavia to choose between the woman of his heart and his father's kingdom
Her Perfect Rogue by Amanda Mariel 5s
When Julia Honeyfield is sent away to a brothel, she runs away...only to find herself in the Duke of Selkirk's arms. Another engrossing short story, no mystery or intrigue just a lovely romance with endearing characters a lowly woman finding love with a Duke. In fact I wanted the story to continue, I was so lost in it. I also read in a sitting
Wagering on Christmas by Sandra Sookoo 5s
Rakish Colin Rowley, Viscount Hartsford with his daughter Ellen is going home for Christmas for the first time in nearly two decades & his father has tempted him with a wager. Widowed Lucy Ashbrook, facing reduced circumstances, is forced to travel with him. During the journey, mysterious events throw them together, compelling them to remember their emotional-ridden past. A delightful story of second chances, Colin & Lucy are very likeable even though he’s a rogue & rake, the reasons for his behaviour come to light on the journey. Reminiscing, carriage failures & the weather all conspire to throw the couple together. Another engaging, delightful anthology of seasonal short stories, which I loved as it contained stories from some of my must read authors & also introduced me to new ones. I've not read all of the stories yet but so far the 5 I have read have been well written engrossing reads each one ideal for whiling away a couple of hours. My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
All of these books deal with finding true love and finding a HEA but they have all paid some price before this happens. This is a great assortment of writings that are well worth reading and I would highly recommend it. *The Rogue’s Seduction by Lauren Smith - Samuel Milburn is trying to blackmail Perdita into marrying him but she has a plan to get Lord Darlington to masquerade as her fiancé to keep Milburn away from her. Milburn is persistent to the point he physically attacks her. There is a HEA for her and Darlington but there is danger before this happens. This was a good read. *Christmastide with the Captain by Tammy Andresen - Emilia wished for her true love and found it Captain Jack Andrews. The story is short and a good read. *A Marquis for Marianne - This story revolves around two people who pledge themselves to each other just prior to his going to war. While Alexander is at war, Marianne is sold by her father to pay off his gambling debts. The story is about how they found each other again and the trials they went thru to have a HEA ending. *A Blessing in Disguise - The story revolves around Maryanne and Freddie who had been friends since childhood and the obstacles that they overcame to be together forever. *Secluded With My Hellion - Because of a family curse, Gavin had failed to ask Odessa to marry him, but like most romances there is a HEA. *The Marchioness’ Second Chance - This story revolves around two older adults and second chances. Edward whose first wife died after leaving him and Olivia whose husband had only been dead about 2 years, find love that they had not anticipated. *How To Marry A Rake in Ten Days - Angelina and Benedict finally acknowledge their feelings for each other. *Prince of Christmas Past - Prince Victor finds true love with Charlotte but not before she is put in danger and later kidnapped. Once freed and because of threats against the crown, she breaks off with Victor, he goes to his father to give up his claim to the throne which his father refuses to accept. His parents make him realize he can have it all, Charlotte and the crown. There is a HEA *Her Perfect Rogue - Julie, who escapes a brothel, is saved from the men chasing her by the Duke of Selkirk. He hires her to be is sister’s companion and chaperone. The more time they spend together the more they come to realize they love each other and are eventually married. *Wagering on Christmas - This is the best of the stories in this collection. The writer is superb in that you feel as if you are sitting there listening in on the conversation. It is so well written that you feel you have known Colin and Lucy all along.

All of these novella length reads are Christmas Romance tales. Some are brand new while others have been previously published. I had not read anything previously by two of the authors but I did enjoy all of these books even though some were not new to me.
I read the Lauren Smith novella about a year ago when it was published separately. This particular book I was reading for the third time. This was my review for that title.
I love Lauren Smith books, especially her historical romance and dragon shifter titles. I try not to miss a single one of these two genre by this author.
Perdita Darby wants no part of marriage to the cruel man who wants to trap her into marriage. With nowhere to turn she seeks the aid of Lord Vaughn, Viscount Darlington known for his roguish ways.
Vaughn is in desperate straits and needs the money Perdita is willing to offer for his help. But will this fake engagement lead to an everlasting love between this unlikely pair?
I gave this book 4.25 of 5.0 stars for storyline and character development and a sensual rating of 3.5 of 5.0 flames. The intimacy is sensual but mildly written in this book.
I originally read this title as part of the Hot Winter Nights anthology previously available on Amazon. I re-read it when offered a complimentary digital ARC of it as a standalone title. This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sandra Sookoo Wagering on Christmas, will add review for other stories once I've read them.
I love a good second chance romance story and this one hit all my feels. Colin and Lucy were very young and in love, but circumstances caused a bad separation. Many, many years later, they are thrown together around Christmas, which brings about good and sad memories for both.
Colin, a rake of the highest order, wants revenge on Lucy and Lucy just wants to have one last Christmas, making good memories with her children. Both of them are stubborn, both of them still have feelings for each other.
I was brought to tears when Colin broke down, it takes a man to be able to do that. If any couple deserved to be brought together, it's Colin and Lucy. The author made these characters come to life for me. I enjoyed reading about Christmas magic being in the air and what our couple has to overcome if they are willing to put themselves out there.
This looks like a great anthology and I cannot wait to dig into the other stories!
There is nothing better than a Regency Christmas stories! Wagering On Christmas is Sandra Solokoo story in Unwrapping a Rogue: A Christmas Regency Boxset. If the rest of this book is anything like Sandra’s story then I can’t wait to read them all. There are a total of 10 well known authors that joined together to write this collection of stories. Wagering On Christmas is a second chance at love. It is both sad and happy at the same time and even has a bit of surprise at the end. Sandra’s characters and descriptions are both charming and detailed that it makes it very easy to read, understand and you can’t help but fall in love with this story. It has misunderstandings, broken hearts, betrayal, hopelessness, carriage wheels broken, loss, death, a rogue, friendships, schemes, but does it find love? You will have to read this wonderful story to find out and I highly recommend that you do!

This is a wonderful showcase of some brilliant authors. The heroes are dashing and daring and the ladies are witty and charming. Each story has its own blend and unique style that the author uses to bring the best of the characters to the reader. My favorite is How To Marrying A Rake in Ten Days by Samantha Holt. I know it is one of the older stories in the box set but I never get tired of reading it. I have also discovered some new authors, Dawn Brower and enjoyed meeting her characters. This is a wonderful blend of new and old creating new friends and visiting old ones.

What an enjoyable collection for Christmas there are 10 really good regencies to choose from. We have a Rogue, a Captain, and a Marquis too along with a Prince a wager and a hellion or two. Christmas is the time for romance and you will get that with this collection. There are ups and downs and twists to enjoy. Well written stories, splendid characters and a pleasure to read. I adored Wagering on Christmas and Prince of Christmas Past they were written by authors somewhat new for me. The others are done by some of my favorite authors. This is a collection you will not go wrong with. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Collection of Historical Novellas, mostly Adult Only Reading. The Rhythms of 💘love and life beat💕 strongly throughout by this wonderful collection of mostly Adult Historical Romances. Every novella included is by a noted romance💕 author. The writing is intense and interesting.
The woman characters are strong and independent for the time period. Most are Regency Period stories, when men were titled, tall, dashing, roguish, and impossibly handsome🐺🍆🌋👋 and naughty! The young women👸💋 are young, untouched and ripe!
ARC Received from Booksprout🌱 I also got The book from Amazon for $.99
This is a good anthology with lots of variations by some good authors. Of course, in this kind of collection there are some that I didn’t like as much but I would leave it to the reader to pick and choose their favorites. I was mildly surprised at the amount of sex in these stories because I think of Regency Romance as a little more clean. Some of those scenes were quite good and seemed appropriate for the characters. No duds. Something for everyone in this book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
What can I say who doesn't love a military man, a sheik and all the other wonderful men in these stories, it was like opening a wonderful Christmas present early. To say that I truly enjoyed these stories would be an understatement but to know that I can go back and reread these amazing books is the greatest present I could ever receive.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a sexy, funny, and at times suspenseful collection of holiday historical novellas. Some books were better than others. The Rogue’s Seduction has domestic discipline, which the readers are not warned about. I enjoyed How to Marry a Rake in Ten Days where Miss Manners readers challenge her to use her own advice to get a suitor and she ends up wanting the man who caused her fiance to end their engagement which resulted in her ruin rather than the safe choice.
This is romantic, amusing, sweet, suspenseful and thrilling. Each story has it's own special brand of love, problems and drama, but all are entertaining reads. The characters are interesting and engaging, a few more intriguing than others. Every story was enjoyable and I recommend adding this to your TBR list.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a great collection of tales by a range of authors. Each story was hot and exciting in itself, but read together as a collection, it was very difficult to put the book down, even with the length of the collection. A good introduction to a few authors I hadn't read before, so back to buying more books ;)
This is a wonderful collection of regency romances. Each couple has much to overcome on the road to a HEA. There is drama, danger, passion, sweetness, pain and plenty of emotions in the storylines of these books. A very enjoyable and entertaining collection of reads. This is my truthful and voluntary review.
Wonderful set of historical romances. Loved the stories and the characters. They each have excitement, surprises, suspense, emotional situations, intrigue, fun situations and so much more. This is a set of stories that are good to curl up and relax with. I was given a review copy by booksprout and voluntarily review it.
A Christmas collection of Regency romances. Second time may just be the answer this Christmas! Some of my favorite authors banded together with these well written stories Story lines to make the heart rejoice !!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This boxset that includes stories by 10 wonderful authors who each put their unique writing style to each story, was a true pleasure to read. Each story includes a swoon worthy hero and a feisty heroine, as they struggle to find their HEA during Christmastide. Love these authors and their stories!!!
So much of this was right. Good characters, and plot. Too cute at the end, too contrived. However, my biggest gripe is the lack of trust she showed in the "love" of her life. She knew the family, the Duke, etc. and she saw his need to prove himself as materialistic. And her suspicion continued.
A series of stories that I enjoyed reading by some Authors I have read and others that are new to me and that I will be looking to see what else they have out. For this price, you can not go wrong buying this set. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I also bought it.
This box set is filled with lots of witty banter, exciting situations and thrilling passion.. each story has its own unique journey and all are emotionally thrilling, engaging and highly entertaining... could not put it down from beginning to end.
Fall in love with these wonderful rogues and see just how bad they can be out and in bed. Can a woman ever tame them? Would they want to? fall in love with them
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
So many great stories to read, how do I choose which one I liked best? Ten wonderful authors, each with a unique twist on the Christmas festivities. The strong characters and well-written storylines keep your interest from start to finish. A definite must have collection.
This was a nice collection of authors with fun Christmas stories. Some were naughty some were nice, but all were great reads. I look fwd to more collaborations or a box set for another Christmas.
A nice mixture of stories with happy endings and mostly believable characters. I especially enjoyed the interaction between parents and children in the last story.
I've enjoyed reading thie continueous recency love stories, each one page turning and filled with happy ever afters. Each Author brought their own personal influence and heart to each book.
