A Love Letter from the Girls Who Feel Everything

Rate this book

Bestselling authors Brittainy C. Cherry and Kandi Steiner come together for the first time in an emotional compilation of poetry and prose. Written and collected over the course of more than two years, A Love Letter from the Girls Who Feel Everything is an intimate, honest, and raw assemblage of two women's feelings in a modern world that often quiets any kind of emotion past indifference.

Discussing themes of love, worth, loss and hope, A Love Letter from the Girls Who Feel Everything is a journey of discovery and healing.

"We are the girls who feel everything.

And this is our love letter. To you, to them, to us, to the world, to no one at all. Whether it's the brightest, sunniest day where everything is perfect, or the darkest, dreariest night of rain where life seems unbearable -- we have lived it, we have survived it, and we have felt every, blissful, aching second.

Here's to embracing the feels, to the brave souls that listen to the way their hearts beat and aren't afraid to ask someone else if they feel those same beats, too. Here's to the girls, the boys, the love we sometimes share and the love we all-too-often conceal.

And more than anything, Reader -- here's to you."

"How beautiful it is to be human.
That we can fall asleep drowning in tears and pain but wake to a new sunrise on a new day with a dry face."

this made my heart ache and i loved every single second.

______________

Poetry and Prose
Modern contemporary poetry happens to be a sweetspot for me. Add in touches of bittersweet understanding of love and life. Then encapsulate the whole anthology with a boost of girl power and you've got yourself a surefire way to make me sing with happiness.

A Love Letter from the Girls Who Feel Everything was more than just a collection of poetry and prose. It was little polaroid pictures of moments that happens in our lives. It was a series of heartbreaks and a journey where I could feel so many different stories meeting in the middle.

description

I felt like writing post it notes of the words that meant the most to me and taping them all over the house, so each day I could be reminded that I'm worth more than what society dictates I should be. Both Cherry and Steiner paint such powerful messages with their words that I can only imagine what are they could bring to this form of expressionism.

"I don’t want to lose you, and so I lose a little of myself, instead."

Verse and Contradiction
I think it's safe to say that I swallowed this book whole. I'm pretty sure I will go back to it time and time again in the future so that I can digest the poems again. That's one of the beautiful things about poetry and verse, each time you read a passage; the meaning shifts according to what point you are in life.

description

Some poems did contradict with both purpose and meaning. For example, we were told throughout that "you are enough" and "you will always be enough" but then there was a verse that threw me off because;

"One of the hardest lessons I have ever learned is that you can be the very best version of you, and still not be enough."

I assume they mean the worlds portrays of 'enough'.
Some of the poems seemed very tumblresque and perhaps, that was another thing that fell short slightly. Some of them seemed like they were lathered, rinsed and repeated.

Still, that was a very minor issue I came across but I needed to state it somewhere. Overall, this was truly beautiful and if you have half the chance to pick it up and scroll or turn to a random page and read the short passages. I honestly think, it could change your outlook on that day.

description

Values
I think the authors were spot on with how they conducted and wrote the book. I know for a fact, after reaching the last poem and reading the acknowledgements I felt so empowered. I would love for younger readers, especially girls in their teens to pick this up and know that they aren't the only ones.

"Hug a stranger. Hug a friend. Text that boy —or don’t, so long as you’re being true to your heart and its desires. Kiss like it’s the first time, or maybe like it’s the last. Tell someone how you feel. Travel. See the world. Meet someone new. Let someone feel the way your heart beats, and ask them to let you feel theirs, too."

Some Of My Favorites
"It was on the silent nights, the ones she spent alone, that she understood lonely was not the absence of another person, but rather the absence of self-love."

"It’s pleasing to me the way your heartbeats kiss my ears."

"When you look at me you’ll see that I am the light that ignites my own way."

"You are the moon and I the sun, forever chasing. We cannot be together without one of us erasing what truths lie within, of feelings and thoughts untold. Where your desire for love is shadowed, mine is bright and bold. So as you disappear again, leaving with the dawn, I ask myself which is worse: letting go, or holding on?"

Brittainy C. Cherry and Kandi Steiner are two favorites of mine. They both have this gorgeous, poetic, and lyrical writing style. So who better to write a book of poetry than these two? I am not normally a huge reader of poems, but I couldn’t pass this one up. I loved how the poems were about different things. Self acceptance, love and romance, heartbreak, it had it all. It make my heart happy and ache at the same time as only these authors can do. Here are a few of my favorites:
It was on the silent nights, the ones she spent alone, that she understood lonely was not the absence of another person, but rather the absence of self-love.

Yesterday it didn’t exist. Tomorrow it may be gone. Yet in this moment, we loved.

Love me slowly. Breathe me in. Tell me I’m more than all my worst sins.

Walk away. No —run. Run from the things that do not serve you, the past that does not define you, the present that does not please you, and the people who do not value you. Trust me, peace is found in movement, in discovery, and the path is never-ending.

If you are a fan of either of these authors, like poetry even a little, and/or are looking for a short and beautiful compilation of poems to touch your heart and feed your soul- pick up A Love Letter from the Girls Who Feel Everything. You won’t be disappointed!!

Brittainy and Kandi are both one of my favorite authors! So when I first saw this book I was really, really excited to read it. And I have to confess, I'm not a big fan of poems but still I enjoyed this collection very much. Also I'd love to read more from them. I hope in the future they work together again. :)

"Her insecurities were as loud as day,
but his gentle embrace made the noise stay at bay."

When I found out two of my favorite authors were collaborating together to produce a book of poetry and prose, I just had to get on that band wagon. Brittainy C. Cherry and Kandi Steiner both have such a beautiful way with words and I just knew each and every prose was going to be deep, powerful, inspirational, meaningful and it really was; some made me cry, some made me feel inspired, some really resonated with me and some made me think.

“I don’t want to lose you,
and so I lose
a little
of myself,
instead.
Because I want nothing more than to
keep you
in the sheets you’ve always fled.”

If you are a fan of poetry or just beautiful words and writing in general then I cannot recommend A Love Letter from the Girls Who Feel Everything enough, you'll feel every beautifully written word right down to your very core.

“Yesterday it didn’t exist.
Tomorrow it may be gone.

This is a book of poetry and prose that we have been working on for more than two years now. There's a lot of heartache in these pages, but there's a lot of joy, too. If you love poetry from poets such as Rupi Kaur, Beau Taplin, Michael Faudet, Lang Leav, and Atticus, then this book is right up your alley. Make sure to add it to Goodreads and sign up for a release alert! ❤

This is the first time B Cherry and I have collaborated, and you guys have been asking for it for YEARS. Now, the only question is... are you ready for it? (T Swift voice) 😂

Title: A Love Letter From The Girl Who Feels Everything
Author: Brittainy C. Cherry & Kandi Steiner

~AN ARC WAS KINDLY PROVIDED IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW~

Kandi Teaser 2.png

When two your favourite power house contemporary romance authors decide to write something, you know it's going to be magical.

A Love Letter From The Girls Who Feels Everything is PERFECT.
Considering the fact that we live in a world where everything is in constant motion and time is of the essence, where book dragons like you and I want to read more and more but time is our biggest enemy...This book just might become your saving grace.

I went into this  with great expectation and I will not apologise for it because this collection of poems and proses is incredible.
I think people tend to forget how impactful poems can be for the soul. There is no pomp and galore, just few little words that have the most profound affect to your soul.

A Love Letter From The Girls Who Feels Everything is heartfelt, funny, honest, optimistic, encouraging and hopeful.
This book is unassumingly profound.

Timely I'm still in the mood for poetry books and I finished A Love Letter from the Girls Who Feel Everything in one sitting. Brittainy C. Cherry and Kandi Steiner collaborated for a poetry collection about love, heartbreak, letting go, self-worth and wisdom. I haven't read any books by Ms. Steiner, so it's a good introduction for me but I'm familiar with Ms. Cherry's writing.

I like we're able to distinguish Ms. Cherry and Ms. Steiner's writing as they showcased their fortes. The verses are melancholic, relatable and enticing. However, it's not that emotionally stirring. It's mild and some these prose are common. Overall, it's a good collection but not my favorite. My favorite poem from each author are:

There doesn't always have to be a cage to
keep someone locked in.

Sometimes memories are the strongest
form of imprisonment. (Lock - B)

Dear authors,

Thank you for bringing such a beautiful book to us. While reading I felt everything there was between those letters, there was under every meaningful words. Some got to my heart more than others and this kind of words are the best to hear sometimes, even if we think we don't need it. Although everyone feel different, the intensity of it, in every situation, in the end, at the same time, we actually are not that different. We hurt and root for the same things. While reading it, even when the text was kinda sad, I saw two beautiful woman showing their strength and this is the best lesson I took from it.

Thank you.
And I'm signing it boldly at the bottom:

Caras autoras,

Obrigada.
E eu assino corajosamente na parte inferior:

GAH. I wrote a pretty little review for this andddd accidently closed my browser window. Of course.

Find this review and others at Carlene Inspired.

Readers of Brittainy C. Cherry and Kandi Steiner know both have a beautiful, lyrical way with words, taking us on journeys filled with emotion that leave you crying in a heap. A Love Letter from the Girls Who Feel Everything is a combination of poetry and prose that touches on love, sadness, loneliness, strength, and heartbreak. I connected with many of the poems, either knowing the feeling previously or in the midst of the motions of one right now. They're each beautiful and unique, some short and some long, but all part of the letter that these two wonderful woman have penned to us.

"Maybe we should've spoken
while the coffee brewed each
day.
Maybe we should've stated
the things that kept hurting us.
Maybe words would've helped
keep us from falling apart.
But maybe,
by mistake,
we simply forgot."
Forgotten Words - B

I don't often read poetry novels in one or even two sittings, I like to reach for them on occasions when I need their specific brand of companionship. Whether it is romance, sadness, anger, etc, poetry books to me are meant for those moments when you need to know you aren't alone, that the feelings you have are not just yours alone. Reading this in one seating became repetitive, but I still found myself highlighting the titles of poems and prose that really called to me. If you are looking for a book of poetry that you can reach for, connect with, and allow to empower you.

*I do suggest purchasing the paperback, as the Kindle edition is missing artwork.*

ZITATE
❝How wonderful,
the moment when you realize
Lost is not a place
or a tragedy
but a rare journey
a beautiful state
of Discovery. ❞
Lost - Kandi Steiner

❝If you knew how strong you were,
you´d never
doubt your heartbeats.❞
If you knew - Brittainy C. Cherry

COVER/ILLUSTRATIONEN

Individually, these girls who feel everything give us all the feels with their incredible writing. Together, they are an unstoppable duo of encouragement and girl power! I'm not at all knowledgeable about poetry, but I enjoy reading it from time to time from specific authors. For me, this was exactly the type of poetry I enjoy. It was straightforward and to the point, without making me analyze every stanza for hidden meanings. There were powerful chunks of wisdom within the pages of this short book and I highly recommend it, especially to "all the single ladies".

This book made me think and allowed me to feel ridiculously grateful to not be dating in today's age. Heartbreak abounds in 2018, there's an incredible lack of commitment, and everything seems like a game for too many singles. To the people interested in legitimately settling down or finding love, wading through the hoards of deceitful people only hoping for a few hook-ups and fun seems exhausting and daunting. I appreciate the authors' abilities in sharing these truths, which can only come from firsthand experience, while still allowing readers to feel hopeful and confident in themselves in this cruel world of broken hearts.

"...I found that more peace comes from the pain of letting go than the ease of holding on."

My favorite was piece in the book was "Sorry, Not Sorry"! Talk about girl power!!! I hope to see lots of people picking up this book and I can't wait to get my hands on the paperback. I've seen a few peeks via Instagram and it looks even better than I could have imagined, with beautiful pieces of art mixed in with the writing. I call this collection a win! Get your copy tomorrow!

This is the very first time I've read a whole book of poetry and prose. I had no idea what to expect and certainly wasn't prepared for the feelings that hit me.

Two incredibly talented authors came together writing a love letter. To you, to me, to each of us who will read and listen. Showing us that we all feel everything and it's something that's valuable and something that makes us vulnerable at the same time.

They want us to embrace our feeling, to be brave and listen to hour heartbeats and never be too afraid to act on them. We only have one life, and we should live it to enjoy it. This is certainly a thing you'll get while reading their touching words.

The words you find in this Love Letter will touch your heart and soul. They'll make you smile, make you cry, make you remember. They will give you the hope and strength you never knew you were looking for.

Bin in Love!

With A LETTER FROM THE GIRLS WHO FEEL EVERYTHING, Brittainy C.  Cherry and Kandi Steiner took me on a path I'm not very familial with: poetry.

They explored the feelings of love through sometimes sweet, sometimes bittersweet, always raw letters. I found myself highlighting a lot of them, touched by their profound words and the level of emotions they convey.

I loved the idea behind that collection: to be strong and self-assured enough to express our feelings in a world where doing so means to be weak. This is a book about love in all its states, dying, unrequited, and most of all self-love. I could relate to some of them, and some other made me stop and think.

Truly, well-done ladies!

Yesterday it didn’t exist.
 Tomorrow it may be gone.
Yet in this moment, we loved.

Beautiful work done by Brittainy and Kandi.
Love me slowly. Breathe me in. Tell me I’m more than all my worst sins. How to Love the Scars —B
They pen their heartache, their pain in prose and poetry with the same potency as their novels. I've been a forever staunch follower of both of them and this book shows a different side of them.
Took me decades back to my youthful times when getting a love note was followed by butterflies in the stomach, smile on my face and dreams in my eyes. I still have all of them stacked and preserved.
Some poems are about heartache, abandonment, betrayal of sorts.
I don’t want to lose you, and so I lose a little of myself, instead.
Because I want nothing more than to keep you in the sheets you’ve always fled.
Choices

The anguish of those who are in relationship but not there, like ghosters who flit in and out of your lives. Inspirational words to bolster your self worth are also included.
ALL in all a very different, refreshing read
A great effort and I hope they keep going

A collection of short poems.
This took me less than 30 minutes to read so it’s very short. But, what it lacks in length it more than makes up for in content.
There are powerful words in here (and I would expect nothing less from the queen of emotional feelings). The heartbreak bleeds and drips from the words and then those feelings are offset by words that applaud inner strength and courage.

My heart was certainly touched by these authors thoughts and the passion in their feelings.

Excerpts:
Lonely Girl:
“It was on the silent nights,
the ones she spent alone,
that she understood
lonely was not the absence of another person,
but rather the absence of self-love.”

From Scars:
“Is it not pain that we credit for our strength? Is it not hurt that peels back the layers to reveal our true self? Is it not in our weakest moments that we discover just how much we can endure?”

From Power:
“I found that more peace comes from the pain of letting go than the ease of holding on.”

FIVE STARS*****

This book is just wonderful. These two authors created something truly special; a beautiful love letter to all readers. Words that will make you feel loved, cherished, and beautiful.

This is a tiny, but powerful book. I think I'll carry it in my purse forever, because I don't ever see myself getting tired of reading such beautiful poems.

My favorite Poem:

"If only you knew your worth wasn't
determined by the way he moaned as he
tasted your skin."

It's okay. I'm okay. I'm not crying at all.

"How does the girl who loves openly
survive against the boy
who never allows himself to love at all?"

This was actually my first modern poetry book, and I decided to read it because I knew Brittainy C. Cherry and Kandi Steiner would nail it which they definitely did by the way.

I loved the verses and I really would want to see them in their coming books.

My favorite...

How wonderful,
the moment you realize

Lost is not a place
or a tragedy
but a rare journey

a beautiful state
of Discovery.

'It took me a long time, too long perhaps, to realize that I was strong enough to demand what I deserve. And once I did, once I learned the power of walking away when what I needed could not be given, I found that more peace comes from the pain of letting go than the ease of holding on.’

'If there is a way for you
to see me: the parts that burn.

Don’t try to extinguish me.

Instead see
the heartbeats
within
the flames.'
