High school twins Nick and Nora are hired by businessman Julius Wheeler to look after guests at his remote vacation home, deep in the Canadian wilderness. When the boat they’re travelling on nearly sinks, Nick and Nora are stranded at the luxury cabin with eight unhappy, squabbling adults. Then, after stumbling across a massive meteorite hidden in the forest, members of the group begin to change and disappear. Instead of adventure and summer earnings, Nick and Nora must survive for the next seven days. As the dangers increase, the twins realise the terrible truth – a malevolent alien presence is taking control of the guests’ minds and bodies. The remaining uninfected guests must quickly learn to set aside their differences and fight the deadly threat. Can reluctant leader Nick and resourceful Nora stay free of the invader? And can they figure out a way to destroy it before it’s too late?

About the author

David Anderson lives in Vancouver, Canada but is originally from Northern Ireland, where he graduated from Queens University, Belfast with a philosophy degree.

His short stories have been anthologised alongside Bram Stoker, Chelsea Quinn Yarbro and other acclaimed authors. His thrillers 'Earthly Powers' and 'Meaner Things' were published by Endeavour Press and republished by BWL Publishing.

'The Beachhead', a dystopian thriller, was his first Young Adult novel and 'The Remnant' is its sequel. His adult thriller 'Shadow of a Killer', "Enters Graham Greene land" according to noir expert Bruce McBay. Next came a YA thriller 'Uninvited', followed by 'The Citadel', the concluding volume in The Beachhead trilogy.

Well, this is a novel to definitely make you think twice about accepting an invitation to go on a luxury cruise to a remote island and hike out to view a meteorite that fell to earth there. Because said meteorite didn’t come…alone. A gripping they-walk-among-us-so-RUN tale for teens.
