When Captain Rance Cooper picks up a new CO for her smuggling operation, she’s ecstatic.
Roote is a natural leader, overly qualified, annoyingly polite, and can live with Rance’s strict rules aboard the Star Streaker.
There’s only one problem: he has a mysterious past that endangers the entire crew.
When that past catches up to Roote during a run-in with mercs, Rance must make an impossible decision - abandon her new hire to his fate, or risk her crew’s lives to rescue him?
But of all the rules aboard Rance’s ship, only one applies to this situation: nobody gets left behind.
Humor and adventure team up for a wild ride through hyperspace that you won’t put down until it’s done. Wizard’s Flight is perfect for fans of Firefly and Star Wars.
Note: Wizard's Flight was originally published as two titles: Solaris and The Deliverance Code. It has been expanded with all new scenes, a new story arc, and new adventure!

Captain Rance is like a tootsie roll pop—hard on the outside and soft & sweet deep inside. Oh, did I mention hilarious?! Roote is mysterious, strong and brave. Great story!
kindle unlimited, this says #1, Solaris says #1 BUT is not available on amazon, and evidently was rewrite of sorts {bad one} for the reasons listed below as I show the 4 set {which have and reviewed on goodreads but not amazon because doesn't even show up} and is totally messed up confusing as to time period, continuity, title/s, order {the set has the prequel according to PUBLISH date, NOT actual order should be read in, again totally confusing}.

The set I read includes the supposedly first 4 published books: Episode #1 Solaris THIS one does NOT show up on amazon, instead Wizard's Flight, which TOTALLY skips what happened to the butlet and how main character's friend shows up as pilot, and where he was in all this before. Lists #1 Wizard's Flight: A Space Opera Adventure (Star Streaker Book 1) but not exact story as THIS #1, totally different time frame, 2 years later or else since the books/order so messed up, and attempting to figure order to read, looking at multiple books, but none make sense! Episode #2 The Deliverance Code Episode #3 Defiance--flashback episode (prequel) Episode #4 Prometheus Rescue Includes an additional short story, “A Conversation”
BELOW is order shows on amazon, so by this Solaris ? the Prometheus is 2, Persephone is ?, and the additional ones have not seen listed separately. Wizard's Flight: A Space Opera Adventure (Star Streaker Book 1) Prometheus Rescue (Star Streaker Book 2) Persephone Evasion (Star Streaker Book 3)
T.M. Catron’s Wizard's Flight: A Space Opera Adventure, the first book in her Star Streaker series, is just pure unadulterated fun. It’s also really well written and had just what I wanted including a great plot. I frankly adore Captain Rance Cooper and love watching her deal with, well, everything. Roote, and the rest of the cast of characters, is pretty amazing as well. The story definitely has the crossover Star Wars / Firefly vibe promised by the publisher’s blurb and perhaps that’s why I liked it do much. Frankly, I don’t even want to analyze why it’s so much fun. It simply is. Indeed, but for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
Back in 2017 or so I purchased a 4 book set called The Star Streaker Adventures for the Kindle and loved it. However, although the author, then known as T. M. Catron promised more to the story in 2018, the books never materialized and I wondered what happened. Then I found out the author had changed her pen name to Wilhelmina Kirk and retired the series. But then I guess she had a change of heart and resurrected it as the Galactic Heiress Series. At first it seemed like a word for word copy of the same story except the main protagonist’s alias had been changed from Rance to Montana. All the other characters were the same. I was pleasantly surprised that the Caduceus Drive section had been reworked with the mercenary attack and subsequent plot change. I am looking forward to their further adventures and hope for more surprises in the story.
Cannot go wrong with space ships, a Captain running from her father, and a new CO with secrets. Once Captain Rance hires the new CO Roote, the fun really begins. Running from Unity solders in space and on planet, we get a taste of secrets both Rance and Roote are hiding. Rance and her crew do seem to be on a streak of odd circumstances. There were quite a lot of funny and head shaking scenes. Well written and I was highly entertained through all of the story.
I really enjoyed the universe of Montana Cooper. The characters were well formed but left secrets from their pasts on the table for future unveiling. I'll be watching for more in this series.
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next book. There is a reasonable plot which has several different avenues to follow without getting the reader lost. Montana is well done as is her crew. Dialogue is pretty snappy, and the action scenes crackle with energy as she attempts to rescue a captured shipmate.
I highly recommend this book. I think you will enjoy it as well.
I am not normally a fan of space fiction, but I really did like this book. I especially liked the woman as captain of the ship, captain of her own destiny, and that she had the skills and abilities to conquer the bad guys.
