the story teaches that labels are just complicated and unnecessary sometimes, and that not everything has to be in black and white. It was a pretty cute story albeit a bit confusing at first.

i absolutely love this manga. it's a short series, only 7 chapters but it's one of my favourites.
i love the characters because they felt so realistic and had so much personality to them. i might be a bit biased but tamaki is my favourite character in this as he's transmasc non binary!! and his experience with gender and his life just felt super relatable to me.
i definitely understand why the rating is pretty low as the translations can be quite confusing? (i'm not sure if it was that way in japanese too)

funny enough, two of kii kanna's mangas are in my favourites and i think lots of ppl would enjoy their work especially their most popular series, stranger by the sea.

J'avoue que je ne suis pas sûre d'avoir démêlée tous les rapports entre les personnages et les histoires qui se croisent. Il faudrait que je le relise... Ça laisse quand même un petit goût de trop peu même si l'effet "fenêtre ouverte un instant" sur des vies qui s'entremêle est chouette. On aurait apprécié encore plus de queerness.

Most people I know read the author's BL titles and had only positive things to say about them. I have not read any, but I love the drawings and the editor of this one title here in France has solid titles in their catalogue, so when I heard about it, this was a day one buy.

But then, the first chapters felt very unclear to me as to where the book was going. So I was very sceptic at the beginning. I loved the art style from the first page and forward, but the story was lacking... something for it to be very enticing. As the chapters go though, seeing how all the characters' lives intercept one another, I kinda got attached to them and I ended up actually wanting for more.

In the end though, I don't think this will be a book that will leave a lasting impression on me, but I honestly believe this is the kind of book that I'll enjoy re-reading once in a while over the years.

Lo stile di questo manga è adorabile, peccato solo la trama sia confusionaria e a tratti difficile da seguire. La storia e i personaggi invece sono ben caratterizzati ma forse in modo un po' superficiale, mi sarebbe piaciuto scoprire ancora un po' di più su di loro.

✨ Este manga está compuesto por un conjunto de historias cortas que a primera vista son independientes, pero que están interconectadas por medio de los personajes, cuyos caminos se cruzan en distintos momentos.
✨ Desde la juventud de los personajes, vemos diversos temas que les preocupan, como el paso a la vida adulta, escoger una profesión, el trabajo en sí, la amistad, las relaciones...
✨ Es una lectura muy cozy y ligera. Las historias parecen superfluas, sin mayor trascendencia, pero si se presta atención todas tienen un trasfondo sobre el que merece la pena pararse a reflexionar un poco.
✨ Los personajes hacen que todo fluya, cualquier situación se siente natural, no hay nada forzado. Y es muy fácil cogerles cariño, la mayoría de ellos despiertan una gran ternura en el lector, cada uno por diferentes motivos.
✨ En resumen, una lectura para una tarde de desconexión y en la que nos apetezca algo que nos haga sentir bien y nos deje el corazón calentito.

La mayoría de las reseñas dicen que es confuso, pero simplemente en los primeros capítulos te va presentando diferentes personajes cuyas vidas se acaban entrecruzando más adelante. Me gustó mucho, es muy lindo y el estilo de dibujo me encantó (definitivamente me gustaría leer más cosas de la misma autora, lo que pasa es que es una autora de BL).

No tiene segunda parte, pero en cierto modo me gusta más así. Es como una pequeña ventana en la vida de estas personas que, aunque se cierra sin que sepamos qué les ocurre en el futuro, lo hace con un tono de esperanza hacia lo que está por venir.


*Spoiler (en el móvil no sé cómo marcarlo): also el hecho de que hubiese un personaje nb fue bastante sorprendente dentro de lo que yo suelo leer en el manga y me gustó cómo estaba representado !!

Ya que me he leido todas las obras de kanna kii finalmente puedo decir que es mi autora favorita de por vida. En todas sus historias pone gatitos y en el final de esta ha puesto a su gato, me encanta yo haria lo mismo.
Hablando del tomo sinceramente es perfecto para leer algo facil y desconectar un rato, me encanta como se conectan las historias de los personajes y como se conocen

There's something about Kii Kanna's works that make the setting really robust (like I can almost feel that train ride with Kishi and the cat, I can see it in colour) that I'm willing to look over the fact that the pacing is so frantic and hard to understand 😂

This is a collection of interconnected stories. You don't necessarily have to read all of them to get what the individual chapters are saying, but I wouldn't actually say it's about just one character either.

So we have some main players: Kishi, a guy who works at an animation studio; Chiyo, a co-worker who works really hard and is good at her job (plus also Kishi's crush from way back, well before the two of them moved to Tokyo); and Tamaki, Chiyo's partner (we'll get to that later) and the guitarist of a bad that's slowly gaining popularity. We also have Kiki, a girl who decides she wants to be an idol after watching an idol live performance while in a school trip in Tokyo. And Tsumugi, who's Kishi's friend/workmate and pretty much has to deal with all of Kishi's bullshit.

Kishi works at an animation studio and he used to work hard but is actually pretty mediocre skill-wise. He has no real plans and even went back home to the countryside after a bad encounter with Chiyo. Kishi's drifting around and doing whatever.

Tamaki wanted to go to art school and pursue art but just doesn’t have the skills for it. (I think this is why Kishi made an impression on Tamaki: he was chatting with her* about the sketches in the arcade logbook and even handed her a pencil.) Tamaki ends up playing with a band because it's something she can do. Even if she can't sell CDs yet.

* I'm using she/her pronouns but maybe Tamaki is more they/them. She says she doesn't mind dressing up as a girl in general, but that there's no black and white.

Tamaki and Chiyo being partners is also an unlabelled thing. They live together. They love each other. They get along and sleep in the same bed. But they're not 'girlfriends'.

And it's kinda refreshing to see this, a genderfluid person in a relationship that has no labels in a josei manga. The main themes are dreams and aspirations, so it's nice to see some queer people in there.

And it isabout dreams and aspirations, even the lack of (like with Kishi) or the compromises one has to do to get anywhere (like with Tamaki). The whole thing ending with 'Maybe it's fine because we're young' is kind of freeing because they have all the time in the world / they can fuck up and still bounce back. And it really has that 'youth'ness to it that honestly I vibe with.

Lúc đầu mình hy vọng khá nhiều vào cuốn này và rồi nó làm mình thất vọng cũng khá nhiều 😕
Những câu chuyện ít có tính liên kết, được lồng ghép vào nhau nhưng rất hỗn loạn và khó nắm bắt. Cốt truyện theo mình là quá hờ hợt và thiếu cảm xúc, dù cho các nhân vật rất đa cảm hay có suy nghĩ độc lập riêng biệt. Các nhân vật na ná nhau quá + nhiều câu chuyện chắp vá vào nhau làm nó khó hiểu cực kỳ 🥲 Mình đã vắt óc để đọc nó tận 3 lần mà vẫn không hiểu những nội dung nó muốn truyền tải là gì.
Ở kết truyện, có lưng chừng và hụt hẫng quá nhiều…. Mình trong đợi vào một cái gì đó giàu cảm xúc, đem đến cho mình một cảm giác gì đó về “niềm tin”, “tuổi trẻ”, “hy vọng” hay giản dị thôi như tựa nó vậy “không có phép màu”…..
Điểm cộng là nét vẽ đẹp, trau chuốt và tỉ mỉ của tác giả 🤗 Mình đánh giá cao những cố gắng và những câu chuyện nhiều màu sắc của tác giả, mong tương lai sẽ được đón nhận một chút gì đó mới hơn từ những tác phẩm tiếp theo

✨️ VA TUTTO BENE - EVEN IF I CAN'T USE MAGIC ✨️

Era da un'eternità che questo manga giaceva nella mia TBR, e finalmente ho trovato il tempo di leggerlo. Premetto, non sapevo nulla della storia alla sua uscita l'avevo comprato a scatola chiusa, e non so perchè ma devo dire che le mie aspettative erano un po' diverse, mi aspettavo una storia più incentrata sulla magia e sui suoi poteri, mentre invece il manga si concentra maggiormente sulla vita quotidiana dei personaggi e sui loro rapporti interpersonali.

Tuttavia, nonostante le mie aspettative disattese, la lettura si è rivelata comunque piacevole.

In questa storia non credo si possa dire che vi sia una vera e propria trama quanto più "una serie di storie interconnesse" con un invisibile filo del destino che viaggia tra i i personaggi nelle loro vite quotidiane.
I personaggi di cui ci ritroveremo a leggere le storie, le scelte del loro futuro o le loro giornate sono diversi ma credo che si possa dire che la storia giri più attorno o meglio inizi e si concentri su Keshi, un ragazzo insoddisfatto del suo lavoro in studio di animazione si ritrova ad affrontare le sfide della vita da adulto, come la ricerca di un nuovo lavoro e la costruzione di nuove relazioni, mentre si imbatte in situazioni bizzarre e personaggi eccentrici. A poco a poco la storia si dirama e si collega fatalmente con quella Chiyo una collega di Kishi, Tama una persona molto speciale per lei quella di un gatto e la sua determinazione, due liceali amiche inseparabili alle prese con le loro differenze e sulle scelte che dovrebbero prendere per il loro futuro e un ennesimo collega di Kishi, che prenderà il ragazzo a cuore preccupandosi di lui. Tutti hanno storie diverse, caratteri e quasi temi diversi tra loro ma se sono raccontate con uno stile slice of life surreale e un po’ di magia.

Questa lettura vuole parlare della difficoltà di seguire i propri sogni, ma a parer mio soprattutto del' apatia quando non hai aspettative su di un futuro privo di sogni. Ci mostra le storie di chi come Kishi non ha un sogno, di chi come Tama ha dovuto dire al suo sogno senza mai perdere la speranza sulla vita rimanendo positivo a quella della liceale che tra fatica e sudore cerca di conquistare un sogno che inizialmente non sapeva di avere. Storie in cui tutti ci possiamo ritrovare, che camminano di pari passo l'unica con l'altra con sfaccettature diverse.

Nel complesso lo stile narrativo di Kanna Kii è unico e originale, e le illustrazioni sono delicate e suggestive e seppur mi sia piaciuta, mi ha lasciato una sorta delusione perchè il finale, non lo sento come un vero finale che mi ha lasciato il segno in modo particolare, ma è comunque una lettura piacevole che consiglio a chi cerca una storia leggera e surreale.

Des histoires entremêlées, du slice of life, la vie queer... j'ai trouvé dans ce manga une chouette fraîcheur qui permet d'aborder finalement des sujets pas si simple. On y fait le court portrait d'une génération citadine un peu paumée, flirtant avec la naïveté et la déprime, et finalement. Où vont-ils? C'est bien la question.
Le personnage principal étant un cis dude à l'esprit trop étroit pour comprendre son entourage (ou même sa propre vie), il lui arrive pas mal de galères et c'est assez drôle car la narration appuie bien sur le fait qu'il soit complètement perdu. Les autres personnages sont, pour le coup, bien plus riches en nuances et j'ai été vraiment heureux' de voir notamment un duo queer hors-normes, l'un.e étant une personne non-binaire masculine et le duo étant hors de toutes catégorisations, entre le couple et l'amitié fusionnelle. Bien trop pour le cerveau du personnage principal!

Very cute, a fast and light read, the style of the drawings and composition are very pleasant to the eye, nothing incredibly revolutionary, but it is effective in what it tries to achieve. I really enjoyed the way the more "intense" facial expressions are drawn, especially when the characters are drawn smaller.
Mayhaps the character designs would have deserved to be slightly more distinct, as I found myself confused to who was who while reading a few times, but the exercise of piecing everyone's relationships in a web added a nice element to the relatively simple slice of life story.
My favorite bit is the chapter about going to see an idol concert, I immediately found the main duo endearing..
If I was younger and it were one of my first mangas, it would have absolutely rocked my world though, and I know I want to revisit this one.
I recommend it, it's sweet and short, with nice emotional touches of hope, thumbs up!

Mi è rimasto un po' l'amaro in bocca. La copertina mi ha attirato tantissimo e dalla sinossi mi ero immaginata una storia diversa. Ho avuto un po' di difficoltà a seguire bene la storia. Tra il primo e il secondo capitolo non capivo se fosse la stessa storia o ne era iniziata un'altra.
Le illustrazioni mi sono piaciute ma in alcune pagine c'è troppo, avrei preferito delle illustrazioni meno affollate così da comprendere meglio tutta la storia. Devo dire che la storia a primo pelo appena finito di leggere non mi ha lasciato nulla. Spero in più gatti, in qualcosa di magico e forse a sto punto era meglio aggiungere qualche pagina in più per lasciare almeno un messaggio, una metafora al lettore. Al momento non mi ha lasciato nulla, se domani a mente fresca mi dovesse venire in mente qualcosa vi farò sapere. Al momento, non mi sento neanche di consigliarvelo, una piccola delusione :(

Kanna Kii se convierte en el reverso luminoso de Inio Asano en esta historia de jóvenes un tanto perdidos en la vida.
Es una pena que sea un solo tomo y no un par, como Solanin, por seguir un poco la estela de Asano, para profundizar un poco más en el trío principal y en sus relaciones entre ellos y la gente que les rodea. Aún así es una buena lectura, entretenida, tierna y con un dibujo espectacular.

P.S.: si en una primera lectura te pierdes en el laberinto narrativo de la segunda historia, solo puedo decirte que a mí también me pasó, pero una relectura ayuda mucho.

Questa storia di un unico volume vi teletrasporterà non in un universo fantasy, in un mondo da salvare o su un pianeta lontano, ma nel Giappone di tutti i giorni. Le giornate trascorse dai protagonisti vi trasporteranno nelle loro vite come se fossero le vostre, il tutto con tranquillità e scorrevolezza. Non c’è una vera e propria trama da seguire, ma semplicemente ci vengono raccontate le vite dei personaggi e di come queste siano legate tra loro. Legami che nascono da un incontro casuale, sul lavoro o per amore. Se volete continuare a leggere passate sul blog.

Los primeros capítulos son muy confusos, pero pues es la intención de la escritora ya que después todo se entrelaza de cierta manera. La historia muestra la vida de diversas personas y las dificultades que estás tienen, para terminar con un final esperanzador de que no importa lo que pase todavía somos jóvenes y tenemos mucho por delante.

El arte es bonito al igual que el objetivo de la historia, pero la verdad la forma en que se dió todo no es mi tipo. No logré empatizar con los personajes, la forma en que se entrelazan las historias es confuso y en especial el final alentador que intenta dar no es el tipo de mensaje que me motive.

Me gusta mucho el estilo de esta autora y me encanta Un extraño a la orilla del mar y Un extraño en primavera. No he terminado totalmente satisfecho con este manga. Es muy interesante lo que trata de hacer: contar en un mismo hilo narrativo y a través de las experiencias de varios personajes, una suerte ¿coming of age? ¿Florecimiento de la juventud a la adultez? Mis favs fueron el amigo paranadagayquévaenabsoluto del protagonista y la parejita preciosa conformada por el/le chico/chique guitarrista y Chiyo.

Lu courant Juin, et déjà plus grand souvenir. Une partie liée à mon mood actuel, l'autre parce que malgré leurs qualités, ces courtes histoires ne se montrent pas aussi percutantes (qu'espérées). Un trait de dessin que j'aime beaucoup, qui nous enveloppe tout de suite dans son ambiance nostalgique, posée, introspective. Les histoires des personnages qui s'entrecroisent dans le recueil sont empreintes de poésie, mais l'ensemble ne dépasse pas vraiment le cap du sympathique mais pas transcendant...
Je le relirai un jour, et qui sait, je l'aimerais davantage?

L’idée est sympa, on suit différents personnages dans la vingtaine qui se posent des questions sur le travail, les rêves… le message est simple (pas besoin de mettre des labels sur tout, tout n’est pas compliqué les choses s’éclaircissent parfois avec le temps). Cela ne m’a pas trop émue ceci dit, les personnages se ressemblent parfois, et c’est assez simple.

Les il·lustracions moníssimes com sempre, però en aquest cas la narració és molt caòtica. Històries de personatges que s'entrecreuen, flashbacks sense previ avís, tothom cridant... Gens destacable, la veritat :(
