Kyousuke is really a good person. In this volume, he goes to bat for his sister with her best friend who no longer wants to be a friend when she discovers that Kirino is an otaku. Kyousuke seeks to repair the relationship at considerable cost to himself.

This is the final volume of this series, but there is a follow-on series that I'll read next.

~3/5

I must admit that the sister character had me interested in the beginning. How could I not instantly like a character who literally found a job (as a model, even) in order to continue funding her otaku habit? I love that.

But then everything else about this series just ruined it.

None of the romantic options in this series interests me. Even his sisters' friends. I don’t care about them. And the hinted romance with his sister is just creepy and uncomfortable. I don’t like that at all.

Aside from that, it was also a little boring. I was not impressed with this series.

I was not impressed with "Oreimo". I'm a little surprised that Dark Horse would publish a manga like this. I won "Oreimo" volume 4 at the Kumoricon this year (2013), and I brought it home and thought that I would try reading it before I gave it away. I don't think I'll even give it away. I was so astonished about the content... a teenage boy falls in love with his younger sister, and the idea that child pornography is just misunderstood. It made me kinda sick! I was not impressed. I definitely don't recommend this manga.

Really 3.5.
I realized after finishing this volume that the story is actually pretty solid and that the protagonist, Kyousuke, is a a nice guy that I would have usually rooted for.
There are some solid moments throughout the series, particularly in this volume, but I’m still feeling major skeeve when it comes to how Kirino and her friend Ayase are presented. No matter how sweet or strong certain elements were I could never get over those feelings to truly enjoy what would have otherwise been an enjoyable manga.

Really boring installment, all focused on a single plot-line that's drawn out way too long involving the least interesting character in the series.
