An impressive real estate bid on an old run-down mansion pins a corporate lawyer against her attractive ex-girlfriend who works for the town's Historical Society. Forced to have words, after years of avoidance, the two sift through their own rubble, pulling to the surface the dark secret that caused them to prematurely split-up.
I started this and was thinking..I am wasting my time and was going to dnf. I kept on and it got really good really soon..great banter and a good story. I am glad I read on and its a solid 4 book.
A lawyer unexpected encounters her ex who is opposing a plan to develop where a historical building currently resides. Really, the plot had so much potential.
They are both damaged by how things ended between them in college. But still obviously have feelings for each other all these years later. Still promising storyline.
The problem I had with this is that they seemed so juvenile. As if their personalities froze when things ended in college. The dialogue for all characters seemed younger than how they should be speaking as professional adults.
We are never provided any depth as to why they had such strong feelings in college or present. Just that they used to be together and had great sex. And that was really all they had in the present, too.
And they were so clingy and obsessed. It was truly awkward. Instead of rooting for them, I felt like they should move on because this is going to be a really unhealthy dependent relationship.
I don't mean to seem so negative, but I just didn't care for much about this one. I skim read the last 1/4 just to finish.
Written with heart felt feelings. The rough patch as explained prior to the meeting at city hall was especially interesting. A lot of couples have gone their separate ways over misunderstandings and lack of information. You presented the second chance for these two characters in a way that proved not only the feelings that were still there between them, but also a wonderful ending to a lovely romantic story.
Meat story and read. A !is up that happened many years ago between two young girls . Who meet up in a meeting about a historical building against each other. They eventually start to see each other but nearly ruin it. They both get drunk and one of them goes to the other house and breaks in ,has a shower and crawls into the bed . Well worth a read hope their is more to come by Emma Chamberlain the author
If I'm been honest it felt like nothing was resolved between them, I know when you're young you make dumb decisions and hasty assumptions but now in their adult life there's still no communication. Kim is still very much insecure and hung up on been ghosted and Amanda is living in guilt. Felt like nothing much progressed with this book by it's end it also needs editing
I really liked this story. The fact that a perfectly loving relationship can get torn apart by rumors and innuendos is so common and stupid. After reconnecting, This story went right in and addressed the situation. What develops is a new understanding between Amanda and Kim to try again because they realize they fit and they both still need each other. This was a simple second chance romance that was really good. Quickly becoming a fan of Blythe Stone.
A sweet story about misunderstandings and reconciliation with that one special person you just can't forget. The characters are well developed, given the length, and the chemistry between the leading ladies is wonderful.
🌈CAPTIVATING 🌈 Satisfying! Engrossing! Well worth putting in the time indulging in this story. I especially was satisfied 😌 with how they cleared up the cause for their relationship ending. That was nice 🔥💭🐇
Overall, it was a cute story; however the writing just felt inconsistent and even cringey at times. Also, I'm a fan of long lost exes meeting again but these two didn't act right and it kinda ruined the whole trope for me.
