Wow! This book was eye-opening, mind-blowing and heart-breaking! Jerome, a Deacon in his church, not only lied to his wife but humiliated her by sleeping with a psycho woman that they both attended church with. And then he kept saying he made a "mistake". No! Adultery is a choice not a mistake. And the cost Jerome and his family paid, was out of this world. I am so glad that there were so many godly people, in Lynn's corner, that kept encouraging her to seek God first while standing on her faith. Awesome story!

Great read!!!!

I started this book expecting it to be either too churchy or too ratchet but what I got was so unexpected. This book was amazingly written!! It read just like how life really is . A dash of this. A dash of that. Unexpected turns. Finding your way back to God after making mistakes. Struggling to hold on to God in the midst of a storm. I mean it was so good, I found myself reading some of the prayers aloud because they were perfectly written for things I’m going through in my life! Huge kudos to the author!!!! Books like this are needed more than you think! Can’t wait to experience more of your work. God bless

First time reader of this author

I am a lover of Christian fiction but I was NOT prepared for this one. I read it all the way through because I actually hoped for a better ending, but that did not happen. Sometimes the storyline was confusing to follow, at least to me. At one point it stated that "Mattie and her sister were dancing in the room" when it was actually supposed to be Mallory the actual daughter. I'm trying to read another book by this author and haven't made it past the first chapter, not looking good.

Reading about Jerome and Lynn lets me know that no marriage is perfect. There will be good days and bad days. Hopefully the good outweigh the bad. Jerome made a grave mistake and he has to live with it for the rest of his life. Lynn is a strong woman, but the strongest woman can crumble.

High school sweethearts Lynn and Jerome Watson are coming up on their 18th Wedding Anniversary, have three wonderful children and active members of their church. Things start going downhill when Jerome forgets his wife’s 40th birthday and isn’t open to spicing things up in the bedroom. When Lynn decides to have some fun, all hell breaks loose. Skeletons begin to fall out of the closet and lives are potentially destroyed.

Only God and therapy can step in and make some semblance of this mess.

I love books by @kishajohnson, because they are relatable and spirit driven. This one did not disappoint and I highly recommend it to married couples who have been together for a significant amount of time.

This book actually turned out to be good. I was on the fence through a lot of the read, because the way the author wrote, made some things more unpredictable than you might think. I'm not always a fan of Christian fiction because I sometimes believe the outcomes of the stories are not realistic as some authors try to make them ideal because the parties involved are supposed to ultimately be living godly. That's not the case with this book. There were a lot of unexpected twists in this book, and I felt like the ending was realistic and the emotions conveyed seemed highly plausible. Good job Lakisha Johnson

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

You don't have to experience this situation personally in order to relate to this. The author throws you right into the story and you can't help but feel what both the husband, wife and children are going through. There's pain and regret for both spouses. Those prayers, though- they reached my soul. You can tell the author is a minister as she ministers in most of her works. So along with a great story, there's worship and praise. I LOVE 💘 this author and how she she writes. True Christian fiction that reminds you to store up before those storms come and keep praying despite the circumstances. Amazing story that everyone needs to read.

Could I?

This book was wonderful. After 20 years is thevgrass greener on the other side. Jerome thought so and in the process he lost everything precious to him. I loved this story and Lynn was my favorite. My favorite line. I'm going to get you a snicker because you acting like. B. This book shows the power of love and forgiveness. It shows just because you forgive you don't forget.

Nice

I really enjoyed this book the drama going with Jerome and Lynn's marriage the so called friends and betrayal and lies told all through out this book I didn't know who to believe at one time. I really wanted Jerome to get himself together so that he could save his marriage but things happen. But I really enjoyed this author's writing this was my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more of her work.

"The Marriage Bed" by Lakisha Johnson

My Perception:

The author gives the reader another good read...'The Marriage Bed.' Jerome would have been more brilliant than he was in having a wife like Lynn and knowing she would not put up with his mess after they had been together for over twenty-five years, especially when Lynn tells him that something is wrong in their marriage. And for Jerome to do this with a friend of theirs from church. Jerome had a problem, and he needed some professional help. As we can see from the read, he continued this mess and was supposedly trying to get his wife back. Pick up this good read to see what I am talking about. I wasn't surprised with the ending!

I agreed wholeheartedly with what the "Bible says in Hebrews 13:4, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous." However, when your life starts throwing all the mess in from 'daggers, lies, twists, murder, and turns all over the place,' as it continues, it may be time to separate, and divorce is evident.

Great Read

From the beginning of their marriage. Lynn told Jerome before he defiled their marriage bed. Give her the courtesy by letting her know. That went way over his head. Secrets starting coming out. Lynn learn that Jerome didn't honor their marriage. She was hurt but when she found out who it was. That hurt turned to anger and embarrassment and for that she couldn't forgive Jerome. Jerome knew he messed up and thought with a simple apology. All would be forgiven but that wasn't the case because he went too far. Maddie was delusional and crazy. She also didn't have any remorse.

Good inspirational read

This book was not something I normally read but it was pretty good. The scriptures could be applied to a lot of situations so I really appreciate that! The only reason I gave this book four stars is because the story felt incomplete to me. I wanted to know more about how the family continued to deal with everything. Also I wanted to know were they actually able to heal and move forward in life!

OMG.....this was the first book that I have read from this author and boy was it good! I could relate to this story on so many levels since me and my husband are high school sweethearts and also got married at a young age. My favorite character was Lynn and what I loved about her was that she stuck to her guns on her husband's infidelity. My least favorite character was of course Mattie but you will have to read the book to find out why :)

The Marriage Bed is part drama and mystery thrilling story of Jerome and Lynn who were married for over 20 years having a good life until Jerome step out of on his wife with a woman who was demanding more than he desire. This book was exhilarating and provide insight on what can happen in the church and our homes and wreck the marriage that pastors, elders, deacon and members built over the years. I love those beautiful prayers. Love your books Lakisha Johnson.

Why did I buy this book?

The plot seemed interesting, so I thought, I'd take a look. I'm so disappointed. This book seems to have been written from an angry woman's point of view. I get that she's hurt, angry, disenchanted, etc. However, I need to see the the viewpoint of the other character. Ijs. Yes, his responses made him look pitiful but, I still was only able to see this from the woman's point of view.

Absolutely loved this book

This book was so good. I loved everything about it and although I’m not married I still got a lot out of this book. I actually thought they were going to get back together but she did the right thing. Until Jerome fix himself he’s going to continue to hurt women. Mattie did the right thing cause she was crazy. I feel bad for the youth pastor they she killed. Deacon and his wife is a fool. Thanks for sharing another great book!!

Another hit

This book was very good. I felt bad for Lynn. She was trying to be everything her husband Jerome needed but he let the desires of his flesh win. Mattie was just crazy but sometimes things that happen in life change us into someone we never thought we’d be. I don’t want to spoil the book so I’ll just finish with read it and you won’t be disappointed.
