Abigail had three goals when she turned herself over to The Order of the Crest:
1. Find her brother. 2. Stay alive. 3. Escape.
Two out of three wasn’t bad.
What she didn’t account for was making friends, leading a rebellion, and falling in love, twice. While the combat training was intense and almost unbearable at times, coming face-to-face with her destiny would test her faith in herself and what she had to do to save the people she cared for, even if it meant the ultimate sacrifice
I am a self-published multi-genre author with an emphasis on YA (young adult) paranormal, dystopian, and fantasy. I also write Contemporary with an emphasis on NA (new adult) and women's fiction.
I grew up in southern California and graduated with a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Southern California. I married my high school sweetheart who is a firefighter for LA City and we settled into a quieter life with our two kids in Utah. I returned to my artistic passion for writing in 2013 and am loving every second of my art, kids, and husband.
DEFINITELY better than the first one! The writing smoothed out and the plot was much more consistent and interesting. It did unravel at the end but the majority of the book was actually really engaging.
I enjoyed reading this book!! It starts off right were book one left off! There's never a boring chapter. there were a lot of writing errors but not too bad that I stopped reading! I do wish it lasted longer, I did feel the ending was a little rushed but I still loved it! Can't wait for book 3 to find out what happens next! Hopefully I don't have to wait long.
All you need to know without spoilers - I couldn't wait to download the 3rd book when I finished. It was about 1am, but I had to keep reading, so I bought the 3rd book and read for another hour before going to sleep.
Being the second book in the series, it still held my interest and I want to read more /learn more about the characters. Really having a hard time waiting for another book in this series to come out.
Trials and tribulations of Abigail rose. She's working her way through the houses, wearing all the colours of a rainbow and the storyline plods along well. Then the trial comes and it's flash, bang, wallop and the writing just goes into summarizing and straight to the point without giving the reader time to digest what's happening. The characters are good, dialogue good, but I think the writing went a little off course because up until the last few chapters the writing was even. Definitely entertaining but this style of writing would appeal to a younger audience. The last two chapters needed structure and patience, it lost all the tension in a few lines and major characters just died.
Not as good as the first book, but I'm invested enough to see what happens.
Oh, man. This story leaves you hanging and the ending wasn’t what I expected at all. Poor Elijah. What the hell happened to Abby once Jasmine raised her back from the dead? It’s like she’s a whole other person. I thought for sure her and Elijah had a close connection. And where is Wes? So many questions, but I know one thing. I can not stand the order. Definitely looking to see what’s going to happen in the next book of the series.
Good story, but transitioning needs a little work as well as some editing. I think this author has potential in the YA fantasy realm. Excited for the conclusion.
Wow, what a great story! The author keep building on without just going in circles to stretch it out for a book 3. I can't wait till it comes out! Well done!
I really have enjoyed inhaling the words in this book, that's truly how it felt. "Like when your little and your parents tell you to finish your vegetables or you can't have something you're really looking forward to." I don't want to give anything away but I'm so hopeful that everything works out with Wes and Abi. I won't lie, normally I wouldn't touch a book with a love triangle, much less buy a second installment but even though Abi has a strong bond with Eli, her heart truly only belongs to one, the one her soul lights up for, he's her person, literally the one who brings peace among all the chaos. I definitely know how that feels and this author draws you into every piece of her world, even when the words have long been read, the last page turned, the story lingers, it haunts you with the epic What's Gonna Happen Next! I truly wish I had magical powers at the rare times like this, where I don't just find an amazing story but a freaking epic I want the next one right now, type of series. I'd definitely recommend this series to friends and family, I really hope there will be a HEA because as sad as some of this story is, where your heart shatters along with Abi's, you come away with a sense of hope, maybe that's just my take, I truly think Abi is amazingly strong and there's a true sense of right and wrong, a bright light if you will, that no one can truly breach that "pureness". I hope the next book comes out very soon because I can't wait to see what's in store for this mismatched, crazy, chaotic group of family, bonded not by DNA but by love, friendship, shared heartbreak, beautiful memories, war and the hope for future peace.

In her acknowledgements she thanks her editor and advance readers. She needs to find herself an experienced PROOFREADER. Spellcheck doesn't catch a lot of things: your/you're, bearing/baring, accept/except. correct use of me/I, slipping into present tense improperly in the middle of a paragraph, abrupt shift between paragraphs with no warning to a later time and place....
This is just a sample. It is so distracting to be pulled out of the story over and over again, being reminded that the writer needs another English class with a demanding professor. Also, the big build up that there are 12 levels with 12 colors, and then it's glossed over, most levels never even explained.
There is so much love for this series! Dani Hart totally knocked this out of the ball park and I just couldn’t get through it fast enough. I was on the edge of my seat, along for yet another great ride. There is so much we learn and so much more mystery and I’m without a doubt Team Wes all the way! This book is interesting and smart and has a great balance of all the elements that a YA book should have. This is absolutely a series people should give a chance! Guys, seriously, you will not regret it!! The anticipation for book 3 starts now!
I really enjoyed the story but I honestly don’t think the book was as well written as Midnight Rose. There were several typos throughout the book and the timeline was kind of confusing at times. I feel like some details may have been left out that really needed to be there in order for it to make sense, especially at the end of Elijah’s point of view/start of Abby’s. I would still recommend the book but just be aware.
Book two was equally as good as book one in this beautifully written series. Abigail is now trapped within The Order the only thing getting her through the physical and mental trials is the hope of finding her brother. Will she be strong enough to survive what they have in store for her or if she can stop their evil plan. I can't for the next book in the series
Second book was even better than the first (I didn't think that was even possible)!! Wow! I can't remember the last time I read books so fast and thought about them while at work etc. Recommend reading if you like supernatural stories!! Action packed with romance.
