Victoria is a broken woman that has been looking for the Prince Charming her parents told her about as a youth. She allowed this idea to take over her life and turn her into someone that really wasn’t worthy of finding her prince. Brenton was Victoria’s friend and lover in college but had always been kept as a secret by Victoria. The secret got out and her popular boyfriend took a lead pipe to Brenton, breaking his body and his sprit. Ten years later Brenton is out for revenge and Victoria is his target. There were parts of this book I really liked and the concept was one of them. I liked Brenton but I was really surprised by some of his actions. The biggest reason I did not give this 4 stars was Victoria. I did not find her character to be very redeemable and her actions did not really reflect remorse for anything but how crappy her life was. In the end I agreed with Victoria. Brenton deserved better.

MCs Brenton Fox and Victoria knew each other in college, when she tried to dump her sports jock boyfriend to carry on her romance with Brenton, formerly the chubby nerd from Maths class in school. As a result the jock beat up Benton with a lead pipe, hospitalising him and causing him to drop out of college.
Ten years later, Victoria's at another low point in her life when Brenton re-enters it, initially bent on revenge.
Several other twists make this a most engaging and enjoyable read as Summer Brooks reveals her inimitable literary talents for a billionaire romance/suspense story with a difference. Definitely one for fans of second chance romances and those who love a thrill or two along the bumpy road to a HEA ending. Get your copy today!

Victoria has gotten herself into a bit of a situation. After ten years of living her life with a broken heart and memories that just won’t go away the last person she ever expected to see again shows up out of nowhere.

After a near death situation, Brenton has changed a lot. He is no longer the scrawny kid that he used to be. He is a man on a mission, one that he is determined to fulfill until he sees her again.

Somethings in life you can outrun, bury or hide deep within yourself but there are certain things or people that can bring it all back in an instant and this story proves that.

This story is a bit darker then the others by Summer Brooks but still full of love, passion and mystery. If you ever had any doubt that second chances don’t exist then read this because it proves that they do.

This is my first Summer Brooks' book and I quite liked it. In this book we meet Victoria Mills and Brenton Fox in a second change romance with dual POV, that made the book feel complete since we had the chance to understand their feelings and thoughts.

With great chemistry between them and that touch of gray area aspect in the story with what was happen with Luthor and MossCorp... It made the book refreshing and had a good quick pace, perfect for a warm morning (that's when I read the book and it made my morning so much better).

I loved that we got to discover, chapter after chapter, what happened in the past between them, because that helped me connect with both Vicky and Brenton and understand their actions and feeling much better. Plus, how doesn't love a good second change romance?

I liked Brenton more than Vicky as a character. Although she was a strong woman that got into some trouble because of some decisions she made, she's trying to make them better. Nevertheless... Who can resist a Bad-Boy? Brenton is a bit of a bad-boy and I loved that about him. I also loved how he could be sweet to her, and protective. And of course every time they were together was so exciting. The sexy scenes and moments were such a plus, especially since they were hot.

And then the book ends like that. I was quite satisfied with it, actually. It was to the point and it made me smile and that's really the only thing that I ask for in a book, to make me smile from happiness for the characters and the story.

Victoria and Brenton once had a secret friends with benefits "relationship" in College, where she was the beautiful cheerleader and he was the fat dorky outcast, but was that all it was? When Brenton is the victim of a terrifying "accident" and believing that Victoria was simply using him to get a good grade, he decides that someday when he's rich and successful he'll get his revenge on her and hurt her just as badly as she hurt him. He spends years becoming the perfect male specimen, even going as far as buying the company she works for and becoming her boss just so he can throw it in her face, but he doesn't know the painful truth behind the reason for his accident or how horribly Victoria feels for her involvement with it. As soon as he sees her again he starts to question his own motives. Was he doing all this for revenge or was it because he's still in love with her? When he hears her truth will that change anything for him? And will he save her from her less-than-legal professional involvement with her former boss or will he let her burn? This story was a fantastic love story with a bit of criminal activity to boot. I really enjoyed it.

Brenton was her friend in college. She was a cheerleader and he helped her with her grades, all the while falling in love with her. He was a nerd and she gave herself to him even though she had a boyfriend already. But she kept Brenton a secret - till it got out and then he was brutally beaten up and emotionally battered. He didn't deserve that at all. Poor Brenton ended up in hospital for months and eventually she never came to see him. She did write a letter apologising but got no reply. But ten years have now passed and Victoria is still the broken young woman that hoped for her Prince Charming/Knight in Shining Armour to come to her rescue. But he never did And now Brenton ids back and he is no longer a weedy nerd that she remembers. He's handsome, built and very rich as well as out for revenge. She nows works for a criminal boss and she is scared and wanting out. Who can and will be prepared to help her? An emotional roller coaster. One marred with angst, passion, caring and love. Brenton Fox is a very rich man,,,, he can have anything he wants,,, but what he wants is revenge,,,, revenge on an old friend and secret lover whose ex boyfriend beat him and left him for dead,,,, Victoria was a cheerleader in college,, she was a good friend turned secret lover with Brenton Fox,,, he would help keep her grades up, helping her with homework and any thing else Victoria needed,,, and she used him for all she could, then the secret came out and Brenton was beaten, left for dead, basically,,,, Victoria has lived with this guilt and now is in deep,,, her boss is shady and she's involved and now Brenton has shown up in her town, sexy, hot and is now her new boss after he buys the company she works for,,, now he's going to fire her and get his long awaited revenge,,,, but after he's seen her,,,, can he really do that to her,,,,???

In college Brenton Fox was a geeky nerd who was in love/lust with Victoria Mills but she was hooking up with the star quarterback and only used Brenton for his brains to get her through exams. Brenton is attacked by the jocks and left for dead. Fast forward to the present time and we see Victoria as the secretary and being used by a money swindling boss. She's unhappy, drinking too much and having erotic dreams about Brenton Fox. Brenton is now a very rich business man bent on revenge against Victoria and is in the process of taking over the company she works for collaborating with the feds to expose her crooked boss and get him put in jail. When Brenton and Victoria finally meet for lunch, they talk about their past and discover each of them was unaware of the real truth about each other. When all is sorted out they realize they are still in love....

Take Me Over was a quick enjoyable romance with angst thrown in. In college Victoria being a cheerleader was in the "in crowd" when she started hanging out with Brenton a computer nerd. Brenton helped her with her grades and he fell in love with Victoria but one night he got beaten up. He was in the hospital for many months and Victoria left him. Years later he tracked Victoria down and found out she working for a shady boss who he acquired the company with revenge in his heart. Victoria who's change though the years regrets what happened in college and her boss threatens her that she was part of his shady deals and she sees no way out. Can they forgive and mend their hearts? Can Victoria find a way to be free of her boss's threats? I minus 1/2 star because I thought the ending was short in this novella, thought there should of been a epilog to round the ending. I volunteer to read and review this ARC.

i read this book as part of an arc program. In this book, Brenton is a billionaire businessman who was attacked in college and left for dead. Brenton was a nerd in college and was best friends with Victoria, a cheerleader, and she used him for doing her work and played on his feelings for her. When her ex=boyfriend attacked Brenton, Victoria thought he died and she has lived with the guilt ever since. Victoria works for a company and is involved with some shady things for her boss, who is being investigated for crimes. Victoria drinks every night and when Brenton takes over the company she works at, he has plans to make her pay for his attack by firing her. Brenton sees Victoria again and is conflicted by his feelings for her. This was a good second chance romance. I liked how Brenton knew he loved Victoria all this time and how he needed to ask why she left him in the hospital. They had so much to talk about and try to work through. Good one.

Revenge is a dish best served cold. Billionaire Brenton was not the most attractive man and was considered a nerd while he was attending university. His best friend was Victoria, a beautiful cheerleader who used him for helping her get through her academic career as she knew that Brenton would do anything for her. She was also his “secret lover.” When this came to light, he was attacked and left for dead. When Victoria believes that Brenton is dead, she feels guilty as it was at the hands of her ex-boyfriend. Time passes and Victoria is working for a somewhat shifty boss who is being investigated for certain crimes that unfortunately she has a hand in. However, there is a new sheriff in town as Brenton has purchased the company where Victoria works. His original plan was to make her pay but will he really be able to do it? This is one appealing second chance love story.

I absolutely fell in love with Take Me Over. Truthfully, I actually was wishing that I join the characters in the book just to hurt her horrid self. Victoria's as well as Brenton's characters were definitely written exquisitely. You could imagine every scenario in this book, if you cared to try. Brenton was my favorite person throughout. I got to say, maybe because I was the overlooked and overweight woman at one time, before I lost over 80 lbs myself, however, never did I forget the torment and pain of others. I found this book to be heartbreaking in parts but beautifully and superbly crafted none-the-less. A lot of lessons are learned in this must devour book.

I voluntarily requested an advanced reader's copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion and if I'm being 100% honest... To me personally, Take Me Over IS MS. BROOKS BEST WORK.

Victoria wasn't a very nice person when she was at school she was a cheerleader who made use of Brenton a nerd she had him at her beck and call which led to him been bashed by her boyfriend at the time. Brenton had not only his bones broken but his spirit as well. Now 10 years later he is bent on revenge he has bought the company that she works and where she is involved in some very shady dealings for her boss and he has every intention of sacking her, but when they meet again his feeling about her become confused. I must say I really didn't like Victoria in this book I never gelled with her at all and some of Brenton's actions where a little suspect but I suppose that is hat been bent on revenge does to you.

This book starts with Victoria's letter to Benton who is in the hospital. He doesn't quite know what happened and in trying to find out, his Dad tears up a letter from "that girl" so you aren't sure if he gets to read it. Heartbreaking story of a nerd who had a crush on a girl in college but something bad happened to him. Years later, he is a billionaire and out to get revenge on those who hurt him. Hard to give a review without giving away what actually happened but this is an angsty book with a few twists. The guilt people carry can be devastating. Some things are not quite what you would initially think. I really liked this story and am glad the ex-nerd made good yet still kept his heart (at least where it counted).

Victoria was not the best kind of person in college. She used the nerdy Brenton to help her with her classwork, knowing how he felt for her but not returning the feelings. She wouldn’t allow him to let anyone know about their relationship. When Brenton is attacked and beaten badly by Victoria’s boyfriend, he is out of her life. Until years later they cross paths again. Now however, he is a wealthy businessman and wants some revenge for the horrible treatment back in college.

There is much more going on in this story, but I never warmed up to Victoria. I don’t like people using and hurting others, no matter what the reason. Brenton is a good guy and even when he is hurt and wants revenge, his heart isn’t really in it. Will he get Victoria out of the trouble her criminal boss gets her into? Will he give her another chance to make things right with him?

After 10 years everything changed....the mean girl Victoria have changed into a soft and struggling soul, while the nerdy teetotaler Brenton turned to rude womanizing billionaire. He wants to get his revenge for she has done to her, but never couldn't stop loving her. But when he is finds, the revenge could save her from the harm that she is always in, he is ready to take it. This is nice loving lovable love story..... however our life takes turn, the love never changes and the love can change many things.

Brenton and Victoria have a bad history and now when they are working together after years of never seeing each other Brenton plans to get his revenge. Victoria let Brenton help her when she needed it back when they were in college and they even became more than friends due to the time they spent together. However when it got out about them Brenton got himself beaten within an inch of his life just for being with her. Victoria is guilt ridden over what happened to Brent so when he takes over as her new boss she knows that she in trouble. Will Brenton be able to move forward and let the past stay in the past?

This is a great story once I started I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Brenton and Victoria was off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

A very enjoyable well written second chance romance with some angst. It is full of love, passion, twists, turns, drama, deceit, anger, mystery and doubt. A real page turner with good relatable characters. Victoria the popular girl had a secret affair with nerdy Benton till one day he was beaten badly and left for dead. Years later still in love with him he is a millionaire mongrual that just bought the company she is working for that has a shady boss making her participate. Bently is bent on seeking revenge but all his past feeling come flooding back. Can their connection and chemistry be enough to get past the hurt of the past to a HEA and can they defeat Luther her shady boss.

I have been liking Summer's books. They have drama, twists and turns, some action, romance and of course some hot and steamy scenes. Brenton and Victoria knew each other in college and she used him. He ends up getting beaten almost to death and has changed. He is now a billionaire and wants his revenge on Victoria. Victoria hates her job and her boss. He has her stuck between a rock and a hard place. If she doesn't do what he says, she will go down with him. Brenton is taking over the company she works at and can't wait to get his revenge on her. However, when he sees her, will he be able to go through with his plan? They still have a connection with each other and their chemistry is undeniably hot.

What we get is a story-line about heart-brake, revenge, life full of hatred and angst, emotional and psychic abuse.
Is revenge a dish best served cold? I won't spoil this story for you, you just have to read it.
Victoria and Brenton are not your typical enemies to lovers characters who bicker a little, have one steamy moment and in an instant recognized they are in love and have their HEA. There is more to them and their story and at the end I fell in love.
It was very well written, real page turner for me, I enjoyed it a lot. There were some unexpected twists that made the story even better.

HOLY PADLOCK!!!
Talk about locking it up. One interesting tale that takes angst to a whole new level. You have all the drama, deceit, anger and let's not forget a pity party that takes the cake. The characters are well developed and believable. Their personalities are deep seeded and a little on the dark side. The scenes are graphic and detailed it pulls this little suspense filled guy together in a way that really hits home in more ways than one. The twists and turns along with a few glitches here and there make for one enjoyable read. Summer did a super job bringing this read to life. Great job Summer, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.

Victoria had always been selfish to a point and had one big regret at when she was younger she had used a friend and he had gotten hurt badly because of her. She also always loved princess tales her parents told her when she was young. Now the her biggest regret walks back into her life. Brent had had a long recovery after being badly beaten 10 years ago but had made it big and over the years got his own back on people who had done him wrong with only one left to deal with but his heart it not in it. Touching story that has more than one evil git in it, but not all are as they appear to be. It shows that we all have a prince to save us.

I'm still out on my feelings on this book. I liked a lot of it, but there was a lot I just did not. The beginning was a little slow, but did get better toward the end. Victoria has always wanted the best, but never picked the right people. Her only friend she just did not want to be seen with. Brenton always loved Victoria, but Victoria never seemed to return them. When he meets her he wants revenge, but when he sees her can he do it? Can Victoria change? Can she stand up for her self? Can Brenton ever forgive her? Will Victoria go down for everything she has down?

Victoria was a user & took advantage of Brenton when they were in school together. Years later, she's become a better person but is now trapped having to do job duties for her boss that are wrong at all levels.

Brenton is hell-bent on getting his revenge against Victoria on her treatment towards him years ago. Seeing her again has him tossing his revenge plans out the window. Once he finds out the truth of what happened years ago, his walls around his heart are broken down.

Follow their journey as they go down the road of forgiveness & HEA. Excellent read!

This story was so awesome it brought a tear to my eye. It had a great storyline and the characters are awesome. In here you will find a man bent on revenge towards the woman he fell helplessly in love with. Also you will find a woman with a lot of regrets and bad choices. An addictive is the storyline is so real and imaginative it's almost real life. A great and stunning read that will melt your heart and rebuild it again.

First you have the popular girl, a cheerleader, then you have a geeky nerd. Victoria grows into a beautiful woman and Brenton grows up to be a handsome man. Brenton hates the way Victoria treated him in high school and wants revenge. Victoria knows she screwed up by the way she treated him in high school, but doesn't know how to make amends. I can't say anymore without telling the story so you have to read this book. It's a great read.

As the story progresses secrets come to light, personal reflection force changes and romance with a happily ever after eventually occurs. This is a nice billionaire bad boy romance that makes for an enticing afternoon read.
