Things have gone from bad to worse. Dr. Bastian Gibel is determined to right the wrong he’d made centuries before, and while the old man works on a way to eradicate immortals once and for all, the threat of the proxy worms grows stronger. Skyfall is in a dire place, but even with their world falling apart around them, the royal family is still fighting amongst themselves.
And not just the royal family, Reaver and Killian are on opposing sides, with Killian defending Elish, and Reaver defending Silas. Both of them think they’re doing the right thing, but only time will reveal the consequences of their actions, and what permanent damage it will do to, not only the family, but their relationship.
But with Skyfall acting as ground zero to numerous growing threats, including rogue genetically engineered proxy worms, and Bastian’s rebellion, relationships and family troubles may be the least of their worries.
Not to mention Elish’s mental state continues to deteriorate. The cold chimera’s moments of clarity are getting few and far between, and it’s a race against time to figure out just what is wrong with him. Elish needs to find out fast, because the proxy worms that he’s bred to obey him and Jade have developed their own nefarious plans – plans that will bring to Skyfall… a new king; a king that was once a man that some people knew quite well.
Quil Carter has been writing stories since he learned how to write. Now that people seem to like his stories, this is pretty much what he is planning on doing with his life.
Here I go with my book series rant. Mark my words this is the last book I will read of this series. I just don't give a F*CK any more.
*****SPOILERS AHEAD*************************
This series started out sort of weird, sort of good and interesting too. Gotta give credit to the author's writing. It's easy to read and engaging.
We're introduced to our two main protagonists:
The Reaper, Raven, Dark Angel of Death -- Reaver
And the blond little twink who cries at the drop of a hat, needing protection constantly cuz he trips over his own feet -- Killian
Mind you, neither of them are my IDEAL hero in terms of looks - they're both very young, Reaver is "tall" at 6 feet. Both skinny and full of attitude. The antithesis of what I find attractive, in other words. But I digress.
Anyway, Reaver is the more interesting of the 2 as I am always drawn to the brooding badass heroes, the protector/ fighters. And he is def that.
So, I might as well mention this is in a post-apocalypse world, post Fallocaust, where people live in barren lands without fresh food and greens. Where cannibalism is very much the diet. For example, Killian's parents caught a disease, and they had to be put down, and everyone in the town he lived in ate them. Which traumatized him for quite a while (not surprisingly).
Now, at this point, I'm like...OK, kinda weird but whatevs, and marked it as "horror."
Then, we get onto Reaver's rape of a young soldier to get info out of the father - with a knife. Huh. Kinda graphic, but OK, I've read worse. Moving on.
Fast forward hundreds of pages and a few different books (THOUSANDS of pages), I'm catching onto a theme:
1. Nobody dies, even tho you want them to. Every one of the main characters and their surrounding side characters are IMMORTAL. Even when they get their heads sawed off with a rusty knife or blown up or liquified in acid (all of which happened), they still come back from the dead. Reminds me of an evil guy from the Japanese anime, Basilisk. Every time the guy comes back to life, he's crazier, eviler. Which is pretty much what happens in this series.
Side bar: for those of you who don't know Basilisk or Jap Anime, crawl out from beneath that rock and get to it. The anime was def better than this series. Also very violent and gory, but the love birds (shocking!) stayed TRUE to one another! Died virgins too! And yes! There's GREAT DEATH!! As it should be!
So what's the point in this series? There's no real fear or worry honestly. All emotions are manufactured and irrelevant when you just can't die!
2. Everyone gets raped and each rape that happens gets more and more violent every time.
There's a whole book on Reaver being traumatized bc he was raped by Nero over a period of weeks, chained and several times a day. One time, he was raped with a knife, then raped with Nero's gigantic 11 inch cock which is as thick as a beer can until Reaver's colon and intestines came out of his backside and he died. So raped to death.
(This happens a lot to characters - happened to Jade, Killian, Elish, and I'm sure plenty of others).
Reaver had to get away by gnawing off his own hand. Then he got caught while running away and raped again before being rescued. THEN, he finally got over this trauma by having sex with Nero willingly. (long story). And they became buddies.
So.... the constant threat of rape and more rape just loses its punch after a while, ya know? I don't freaking care.
The last "gruesome" "horrific" blah blah blah rape scene was Reaver getting raped by the Worm King. Who is an undead body possessed by worms. Yes, leech like worms. Tapeworm like worms. Who gets hard through worm in his urethra, and his penis is like an icicle. And he shoots grey goo filled with sperm to fertilize the worm eggs that have been stored inside Reaver's intestines already (from all the other drug-induced worm-controlled sex he's been having with Jade and Malachy.)
So... if you google worm gay sex, there will be disturbing images found... You can thank me for not posting them here.
Which brings me to point
3. Everyone has sex with everyone else, even their rapists. And rapists can also end up being your BFF. And your supposed BF could also rape you if they're mad at you. Rapist and lover and BFF and BF, all totally interchangeable.
There is nothing sacred. Mortal enemies become lovers. Mark my words - Reaver and Silas are going to to have sex and fall in love like Reaver is engineered to do in the first place. And Silas is the mad King who killed Reaver's adoptive dads right in front of his eyes. Lovely, eh?
If Reaver can be friends with Nero who raped him until his insides are on his outside, why not love Silas?? Hey, why not have an orgy with Silas, Killian, the Worm King, Elish and Nero too?? That should be LOTS of FUN!!!
There are a bunch of other people like Sky and Perish and many more who I don't care about. And the whole Silas-Sky thing is just plain STUPID! Silas loves a psycho abusive guy and spent centuries trying to clone him just so he can come back and f*ck Silas off a cliff (where he falls to his death but dies very slowly while Sky goes about his biz).
WTF???
The ONLY reason this series and book gets 2 stars is... gotta give credit for the convoluted logic and gross imagination. Clearly there's an obsession with rape, worms, blood, and guts.
I don't think I've ever given a book from this series 1 star before. Usually I try to avoid doing so by not rating it. However I had no choice this time because I really didn't like this book. There wasn't a single thing that happened that I liked. Reaver and Killian being separated, Jade and Elish being separated, NERO RAPING KILLIAN!!!!! Among other shit that I despised. Too much fucking shit happened that made me angry and so fucking sad. How can anyone like Nero? HOW? He's a fucking serial rapist and he would literally rape a child if he got the chance. Also wtf was that epilogue?? Reaver having a weird feeling in his stomach towards Silas? I have to fucking laugh.
I swear to fucking God if Reaver gets with Silas or falls in love with him in the next installment I'm fucking done. There's just so much I can take Quil. I went from loving this series to slightly disliking it and if he develops feelings for Silas, that will be my last straw and I'll hate it. I don't even know how I feel about Reaver anymore which fucking sucks because he was my fave MC out of all the other characters in the 1000+ books I've read. I can take a lot, hell I had to read through Reaver getting raped repeatedly but at least Killian was there with him through it all. Now all of this shit is happening and they aren't together. I know I may be over reacting but I'm fucking sorry I can't help my feelings when it comes to characters I've invested my time and emotions in for the past 4 years. I'm so fucking sad.

I am, rather uncharacteristically when it comes to this story, very disappointed with this last book. Reasons will go under a spoiler tag which I urge you to heed if you haven't read so far as it will spoil loads across all books.
This third book was disappointing and I do dislike the way the story was left off. I hold hope for the next installment though and a return to form for my beloved chimeras.
I literally can't describe in words how I feel right now... Maybe I will write a review later but... I just can't comprehend it's over... IT TOOK ME TWO YEARS TO FINISH THIS SERIE! I'm actually devastated I started reading an unfinished serie... urg... That's the worst. The first volume and this one were the best books in the whole serie. It was a fucking crazy ride and I want more! Fuck... What do I do with my life now... I hope I won't get into a book slump.
Before I continue R.I.P to; • Nico Zhou • Aiden • Big Shot • Deekoi • Chaser Dekker
Gone but not forgotten.
This book was a disaster I hate to say this especially after loving the previous volume.
It’s sex, sex, sex, rape, sex, sex …… that is 40% of the book I just wanted to give up and mark this as DNF but I struggled on ahead, Quil could have summarised 40% into few chapters I would have learnt the same thing!!
I prefer reading plot over copious sex any day.
The cast of characters has grown too much; I don’t care about all the lycans, night crawlers, clones, born immortals, chimera baby/ kids/ spouse.
Silas I cannot believe he is the same guy who ended the world. Every other chapter Silas is crying, screaming and sobbing.
The world is burning up around him, there are threats from multiple directions and Silas’s biggest concern is does anyone love him? I just wanted to bang my head against the wall.
Silas displays TSTL (too stupid to live) behaviour he falls for Sky’s trap not once but two times! Reno repeatedly warns him “don’t trust him/ he is lying” but Silas remains oblivious to his deceit. I just can’t.
Killian Whatever progress and character growth he made is gone, Killian went back to being useless how sad.
• Killian sees Reaver proxied and leaves him there he says,“Reaver this isn’t you” no shit Sherlock “You need to fight whatever he’s doing…” OR you could save him.
• The Killian and Elish relationship would have been more convincing if it developed over period of months. I don’t excuse cheating EVER he sleeps with Elish the SAME night of the rescue, not only that he thinks about Reaver several times does that stop him? No.
• Killian has no survival instincts Nero is raping the prisoners for information (no information was gained) he has no chimera abilities at all and he thinks it’s a good idea to confront Nero at that moment (I’m in no way victim blaming )
Reno
Reno gets kidnapped again (what a surprise * sarcasm*) I like Reno but he is the martyr no one asked for he is willing to sacrifice himself for Silas, Reaver, family whatever. His death scene was emotional and well written, Reno does not want immortality and I respect him for that.
They make him immortal anyway and he is angry for all of five minutes before he runs back, I’m not even going to touch the unbelievable way he was made immortal.
Reaver My favourite M.C he was ok I guess nothing to write home about.
Bastian He is one of those evil characters who loves the sound of their own voice, tells his nemesis in great detail what he plans to do and gets defeated in the “11th hour”.
Caligula had the most interesting story line in the whole book.
Garett Garett is dead I don’t care.
Nero Deserves a painful death, I loved him in Severing Sanguine but what he did was unforgivable.
p.s I’m fucking sick of rape being used as nothing but window dressing, I don’t think the author can write a book that does not include rape. The rape scenes in this book do not further the plot and are therefore unnecessary.

Amazing! This book and the whole series! 100 stars!!
*SPOILERS*
So, my overall thoughts: 1. I love Killian. Like FOREVER. The only one in this whole series with unselfish intentions. The only with a good heart. I'm so surprised how much he grew up and how capable he is now. After all what he had to endure, after all the shitty things that were done to him, he still has a golden heart. Poor baby. Just WOW. 2. I hate Reaver, LOATHE him!! Not only he has abused Killian in the last books, at the first moment that Killian feels stronger to defend Himself, he abandons him. Well, fuck him! I hope both he and Silas die or kill each other or themselves. I'm done with Reaver. I know at some point he'll reunite with Killian, but he doesn't deserve him. Killian deserves so much more. Not Reaver's BS or excuses about the way he treats him. He can go fuck all his family, be happy with them, true to his chimera nature. I don't know why Killian still loves him. Believing his lies (the whole Nero thing) and every other injustice by him .WAKE UP KILLIAN!! I hope the author surprises me. Please give Killian to someone better. 3. Killian's bros? My new favorite people :D 4. Jade? Someone please save this poor soul. Enough with tormenting him. 5.ELISH! What a Beast! Back on my "Favorite People list". He redeemed himself (to an extent). Elish and Killian??? WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT!! OMG! omg! O M G! Fireworks! The way he protected him, in every scene (HOW CUTE WAS THAT!), always looking after him (should have been Reaver's job, but Fuck him, again!). OMG! I think Elish SHOULD be Polygamic. I also know that his endgame is Jade, but I really hope that Elish reunites with Jade and Killian with Reaver in the VERY FAR Future. I want to see more of Elish and Killian together. With this new mission...together again. I can't wait!
Conclusion: Team #Killian (ALWAYS!!)/ Elish and Jade.
I do not have enough words for the brilliance and sheer magnitude of these books. Dystopian fantasy, m/m relationships, shockingly violent and completely surreal at times. Complex (this word doesn’t go far enough, but it’s the best I’ve got) relationships that go way beyond love and family, and so many emotions. OMG. Amazing. And each book is HUGE - I’m talking like 900 pages huge. They won’t be for everyone but push through Fallocaust when you hit the weird if you can, it will be totally worth it.
ALL⭐️THE⭐️STARS⭐️
p.s. I have become ‘immune’ to all the triggers after all the volumes, but these books are not for the faint hearted. Triggers include rape, violence, murder, sexual and physical abuse, cannibalism, suicide, death of parents and children - just about everything appalling you could think of. But these characters also manage to rise back up too ❣️
i wish there was somewhere to discuss these books, because after keeping up with the series thus far, this one is just... losing me. i struggled so hard to finish this one, where the first few books in the series where a breeze. im not talking about editing issues, ive gotten used to those enough that they dont bother me, but just the plot and the characters just feel kind of messy now, if im honest.
some shorthand notes, because i hate being too long winded:
-i really dont enjoy the new nightcrawlers/lycans subplot. it just feels forced and a bit dull, ive spent too much time invested in the other characters to make room for new ones in this universe
-i keep hoping elish will have some kind of redemption. i fell for him hard in a garden of spiders, but now this book (and the past 2 really) are just hellbent on erasing all of what i loved in him.
-i get that killian is meant to be stronger than what reaver -- and probably us, as readers -- sees on the surface, but it feels like he's a completely different character now.
-i was fully supportive of reno and silas, but reno is honestly shifting into garrett territory for me (see: pathetic and dull, not a character i care much for)
-nero is just... awful. this is my problem with this series (okay here's where i get long winded), you've got gratuitous amounts of rape, which is borderline romanticized, and then you get these moments of sanity where people are disgusted by rape, or see it as something horrific. but then you turn a single goddamn page, and rape is fine again. i cant even pick out specific examples, because its happened so many times, but its honestly getting a little exhausting at this point. with that, nero is the absolute worst for this. it's almost like the author wants him to come off as this brutish but soft teddy bear but he's... legitimately awful? like i know everyone in this series is, in their own way, but there's 0 redeeming qualities for nero. i really struggled reading any of the parts that had to do with him. and this was not a love-to-hate thing like i have with many other characters, silas specifically, but rather an i-want-to-delete-this-character-from-this-series thing.
-i love reaver. ADORE him actually. he's one of my favorite characters from a number of books but this book he just doesnt feel the same. i get that he's engineered for silas, and that he's a product of the environment he's in, but something just feels off about him, and not in a mysterious or plot-driven way.
im going to stop because im exhausting myself here, but just pretty disappointed with where this is going (and has been going, really, for the last 3 books). please just give me a character to love that i dont have to turn around and hate 2 chapters later!!! fuck!!!

Conclusion: Everyone either rapes or gets raped. Everyone is gay. Everyone is a damn hypocrite. Everyone has a nickname or gives a nickname. There are no women Everyone has somebody. And everyone has big dicks (except apparently Reno).
I enjoyed reading this series. Since reading the very first book to this book and everything in between. Every book did have me disappointed at one time, but whatever. This book gave me a lot of disappointments. There was just soooooo much sex, I literally had to graze the pages. I was overly done with it. Don’t get me wrong. I can read lewd sex scenes and shit but when it’s continuous, it seems repetitive. The rape scene with Nero and Killian just felt like it was put there to have a rape scene in the book. It was just unnecessary 🙄
Let’s talk characters:
Reaver is my absolute favorite character. No like, every book I have ever read.. he’s by far top. It disappoints me where Quil took Reaver to though. I’m hoping to see Reaver and Silas on an adventure together which it sounds like it’s going happen in the next book. No I’m not rooting them to be together but I do want to see more interactions. Remember: Reaver IS basically engineered to “love” Silas. That’s why in the epilogue he felt something “strange” happening within him when he was holding Silas.
Killian, I’m still rooting for him and Reaver. I’m sure they’ll end up together. I always thought of Killian as weak. Him being a mouse fighting against lions. But I guess that’s what Quil wants us to think. To underestimate Killian. The thing that annoys me with him is that his excuses for sticking up for himself is “I’m Silas’s clone; The man that ended the world”, which to me has nothing to do with you..
I know I’m in the minority on this but fuck it.. I like Silas. And I’m always eager to read his POVs. He does remind me of Killian in the first book. Yes, Silas is annoyingly a cry baby but he just wants love lol
Sigh.. Reno 😌 he’s top on my list as well. I’m shipping him and Silas hardcore.
Nero is a disgusting piece of rapist shit that should have been snuffed. ‘Nuff said, he puts me in a bad mood 😒
Jade and Elish, still in the minority on this one as well.. I just don’t like these two 🤷🏻♀️
Wow! I just closed the book and I am legit sad knowing the next one won't be out tomorrow. I'm not going to go into detail because everything I want to talk about is just a huge spoiler but I will say I don't remember actually crying in any of the past books but all day today while I was reading this I feel like I was about to cry. Luckily only 2 scenes actually made me need to be alone to shed a tear lol. Honestly though, this book was brutal! I remember Garden of Spider vol 1 & 2 being hard for me but this one might of been more heartbreaking. Pretty much from page one shit starts hitting the fan and it literally didn't stop until the very last page. That's not to say that it was just a sad book or anything, there were just so many scenes that broke my heart. Every book in this series there's at least one scene that sticks with me because of how brutal / violent or heartbreaking it is but I think almost every Dekker (and Kilian and Reno especially) broke my heart at least once in this book. Quil Carter writes some of the best books I've ever read and I want to say thank you for writing such amazing stories!
I’m utterly devastated by everything that’s happened in this book. Every single thing that couldn’t go wrong managed to go wrong times a hundred. I really, truly, deeply hate those worms, and of course, Silas - the man I despise with every fibre of my being 😃
As a hardcore Killian and Reaver fan, I’m absolutely struggling. They’ve been drifting apart since the end of Volume 1, and even though I know deep down they’ll probably end up together, I just can’t see it right now. It’s breaking my heart, and I honestly don’t know how to handle it.
The only thing I approve of in this book is Killian and Elish. Killian deserves a little “ therapy” session too - let’s not pretend Reaver didn’t have his moment with Nero before (just saying). And I love how Elish is completely himself with Killian. But honestly, the only person I feel bad for in this situation is Jade. He’s the innocent one here. I was iffy and unsure about him at the beginning of the series, but as it went on, I grew to really like him. I hate how he’s a doormat to Elish and the one time he stands up for himself and leaves, Killian happens. Give the poor boy a break 😭
Also, I have this theory that Killian isn’t just purely Silas’s clone. I think he has Cristo and Finn’s DNA too, which would explain why Elish is so fond of him and why he said “if only he didn’t get into a car accident that night.” Killian was meant to be his sengil. I feel like Elish made Silas clones after Silas rejected him, and Killian was his attempt to combine all three of the people he loved into one, making him somewhat his perfect partner. Idk just a crazy thought since I haven’t read House of Files, so maybe there’s an actual answer there, but this theory is living in my head rent-free.
I’ve always hated Nero, and this book just cemented it. I’ll never trust him, and my gut feeling was spot on - he’s worse than the lowest piece of trash for what he did to Killian.
But the biggest disappointment? Reaver. It feels like everything is about Silas now. It’s Silas’ world, and we’re all just suffering in it. Silas is absolutely pathetic. I’ve never read a character this pathetic in my life, and I don’t feel bad for him - never have, never will. I can’t understand why Reaver is so obsessed with him, why he’d still want to protect him. I can only hope it’s because he’s been engineered to care about Silas, otherwise, I have no words.
I sped through this book hoping the ending would make things better. After all, the last few books have been intense. But no, the ending was just as depressing. Honestly, I feel like I need to re-read this book soon, just to torture myself some more and maybe take everything in properly. Right now, my emotions are all over the place, and I’m just left feeling really, really sad about it all.

Fallocaust is a series that understands how to keep things interesting. Whether it's the constant evolution of the characters and their relationships, or the introduction of new characters and concepts, each book raises the stakes while staying true to what came before.
A God Among Insects Volume 3 firmly cements this book as not only a high point in the series, but the bravest book in the series so far.
Volume three picks up right where Volume two left off, with our heroes working against not only Bastian and Faction B, who want to bring down their family, and Elish's hyper-evolved proxy worms, who have made a dangerous alliance with the Worm King. That's all I'm going to say because, honestly, anything else would be too much. What I can say is that, like always, there's plenty of twists and turns, and there are a few times where I was legitimately blindsided. There's plenty of romance and tragedy and emotion, and there were moments where I legitimately screamed. There's a real sense of pathos in this series that's often lost in a lot of post-apocalyptic series, and we've spent enough time with these characters that we really do feel for them.
The characters are starting to become OOC and not in a good progressive, "character developmental" way. It feels like the author just lost sense of who they are when trying to finish the book. Too many characters coming back, no real punishments or consequences. Feels like a comic where the only person to truly stay dead are Batman's parents.
Also the main ships of the book are veering into uncomfortable avenues which is my breaking point for the novels. The Epilogue left me dying and not in a good "I want to read next book!" feeling. It's going to take effort for me to read the following book if things are progressing as implied. I would leave this as a unfinished series and have this novel be the last.
I was disappointed with this installment. I really read this series because of Reaver & Killian. With the book becoming so bloated and redundant (how many kidnappings have there been now? And how many rapes?) And, with Reaver falling away from his Killabee, I've found myself losing interest. Seriously, after Reaver exploding the first time because of realizing his fathers were dead and not entombed, how can he be so caring to Silas? I certainty hope book 5 will be better.
This continues to be an amazing roller coaster but damn we took some emotional detours here that really hurt. One in particular that has left me hating one of our leading characters. And while this character has some horrid realizations regarding previous events, I’m still finding it difficult to feel much for him.
And wow...so much happens. I’ll need a notebook on my reread, prior to the release of more.
Now the wait begins...I can’t wait to see where this goes next.
Quil Carter continues to amaze me. His mind was in overdrive in this latest book of the Fallocaust series. We get the usual cast of characters playing musical chairs, with Silas in all his bi-polar glory leading the way. My goodness his mood swings gave me whiplash. I swear “He loves me, he loves me not” was a constant mantra from him, lol. Weaving a slimy trail throughout were the horrific prions/worms oozing and slithering into every orifice imaginable. Yikes! And we get lots of sex, primal, and sometimes violent sex. HAWT I tell you. The epilogue left me puzzled and anxious in a way that I should be used to after reading this complex and most unique series. I mean, Quil Carter after all....but still. WUT?! I’m never going to give up on you Reaver & Killian/Elish & Jade. And Silas, man up and make a choice. Until the next book, I’ll be waiting.
It’s hard for me to rate this book but because I love this series so much that I just can’t give it below 2 stars. All characters are getting weird. It feel like I don’t know them anymore. My big disappointment is for Killan. He was my most favorite character because he is kind but strong and definitely LOYAL to his boyfriend. I was shock that he sleep with Elish and afterward think that it makes him feel better. WTF!! Though he has his reasons but this is not my Killlian that I know. So everybody is a chimera now huh. Whenever someone having sex with people that is not their boyfriend/husband they just blame it on their genetic. It hurt me to see Reaver having sextherpy with Nero in the last volume but now my heart is totally broken to see Killan with Elish. Killian and Reaver just keep saying that they love each other but their actions seem to speak something else. All of problems with their relationship just happen because Reaver cannot accept that Killian has become more independant. And there are hints that Reaver might develop feelings with Silas though Silas had killed his father, hurt Killian, stole his best friend, made him flee his hometown and more. I hope that I won’t see Reaver end up with Silas in the next book cause I will definely consider dropping this series. Seriously, I just need more story and reasons for their actions rather than be given an explanation that they are clones of Silas and Sky and that they suppose to act like it.

*Spoilers* This was a tough read, A LOT, of things happened in this book that were less than ideal. I've powered through 12 books with these guys and it's hard not to get emotional when they keep getting put through the wringer. I swear if I read all this just to see Reaver and Silas end up together, disappointed doesn't even begin to cover what I'll feel. You can't give us the perfection that is Killian Massey then take away his love interest..! We basically grew up with this kid and watched his and Reaver's relationship go through absolute HELL, but they ALWAYS pulled through TOGETHER. I love every single one of these characters and I'm trusting Quil to give us what he feels is best for his chimeras, but GOD DAMN it Quil, this book killed me. This just further cements the fact that Quil Carter is a freakin' mastermind of writing that he can have his fans so devastated over fictional characters.
The only good thing that happened in this whole 3-part book was Crow and Jack.
Let me protect you," Crow whispered. "Let me love you." Another kiss was laid upon Jack's lips. "Let us both help repair this city, take care of our family, and make sure you're happy beside me."
"Okay, he whispered back. "Okay, Crow."
Awwww.
Side Note - Color me surprised when I blew through the entire 12 books in this series only to find out it wasn't completed! So here I am not so patiently waiting for the next book because Fallocaust has permanent residence in my head.
Oh. I loved this one. There are so many things that made me go WHAT out loud, which is absolutely great.
Since I already put some comments during my progress updates, I just want to add that I HATE it when Silas and Reaver have a moment. Like. Of the romantic type.
SILAS IS RENO'S. That's it. That's literally it. Nothing else matters, okay. Nobody else should have him. Just Reno.
And, btw, as I already said, I totally believe Reno to be Perish's clone, because that's the only way for me to accept that my baby Perry is gone forever, sobs. It makes sense. Silas should have been with Perish from the start, but he chose Sky. History is kinda trying to repeat itself with Silas and Reaver, but SILAS WILL CHOSE RENO IN THE END BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT'S RIGHT.
This said. I really like Elish and Killian together. Goddammit, why do I like them so much.
This is going all wrong! ALL WRONG.
No, okay, Crow and Jack being a thing is totally right. Thank you, Lord of small mercies.

There are lots of things I didn’t like about a god among insects, but the worst part is this thing between Elish and Killian. I don’t like it at all. It was nice knowing that they had sex because the prion inside Jade was manipulating them but Killian reminding him of Finn and the relationship they have in this last book disgusts me. Jade doesn’t deserve this shit. Btw, the epilogue? It makes no sense at all I hope in book 5 they rescue Jade because Jade and Elish are my favorite couple and it is so sad what’s happened to them on this last book. I need them to be together
I put off reading this series for 10 years, and I thought it was finished- until I had about a quarter left of this book and realised we aren't fucking done and my GOD. OH MY GOD. If you split up Killian and Reaver, Quil- okay I need to go lay down, I'm feeling too much. So much happened. Killian, Jade, my shaylas 😭 and FUCK NERO
First of all, I loved and hated this whole train wreck. 😂 There were very little happy moments in this last installment. But there was a lot of heartache and several permanent deaths. We lost our most human and usually most harmless chimera, Garrett. Had to say goodbye to Nico, Chaser, Big Shot, and Deek.
Besides the permanent deaths, all our favorite couples are broken. I feel that Elish and Jade's breakup is temporary but not so sure about Reaver and Killian or Silas and Reno. The reason being that Reaver and Killi's relationship has been on a downward spiral for a while now and add in that Epilogue! Reaver's coding is forcing him to develop feelings for the Ghost King that he's always had, however, being with Killian and his hatred for Silas prevented Silas from getting the dark Chimera as his own. However, Elish made a very valid statement that Reaver's attraction toward Silas is actually stronger than his attraction for one of Silas' clone so this doesn't fair well for Killian especially since Silas and Reaver are now trapped together and the only other thing keeping Silas at bay was Reaver's hatred for him that seems to be dissolving along with Reaver's overbearing feelings toward Kilian. I'm like dude, he still killed your dads or did you forget. 😂 So that's happening now and I seriously don't see Silas choosing Reno over Reaver so altogether that's going to be some interesting drama. Oh, and Reno now being immortal has made a lot of us relieved for the happy greywaster. His being around and being mortal always made me nervous because I just adore Reno!!
Surprise, surprise we got Valen back but who made him immortal? 😱 Silas?? Why and when? And is it just possible that Valen is an even stronger empath than Jade? Right now, that would be a good thing. In the future, we'll have to see. And of course with Valen being back has put an interesting twist on the triangle that has formed with Jack, Sanguine, and Crow. 😀
Saying goodbye to Perish again was just as heartbreaking the first time. And is Silas finally ready to let Sky go?? He couldn't let Sky go for Reno whom he loves so I'm wondering if he would let him go for Reaver who he's in love with?? Also, is anyone besides me tired of watching Silas use Reno. He's so not in love with Reno, he loves how Reno makes him feel and how Reno comforts him but as soon as Sky or a Sky clone comes around, umm, it's 👋👋 Reno....Reno, who? I'm so over that, my sweet Reno deserves better.
I didn't think that I could possibly hate Nero more after what he did to Reaver but thanks Quil for proving me wrong. It amazes me that he didn't attack Reaver when he saw him but instead took his rapey revenge over Kiki out on Killian who was a weaker target. Not cool at all Nero!! 😡😤
Do we finally have Elish back? The real Elish because I've missed that guy. I miss Jade too because we haven't had the real Jade in a while either thanks to those slippery, intelligent little prions. Speaking of intelligent worms.....omg, could that scene with the Worm King, Reaver, and Malachy been more twisted? I think not!! 🙊 But at least we finally confirmed the identity of the Worm King and hopefully not many of us were shocked.
So Quil is now working on other books but God, I can't wait for book 5! Please, please don't let it be 2 yrs before we get book 5! 😭

Fuck what a ride. So there were a few minor things that I didn't love but for the most part I was hanging on for dear life as this book dragged me behind it. Elish breaking my heart which of course he does that's all he does to me. Killian. Fucking Killian. I s2g. I keep expecting him to pull out some kind of super power or secret ninja moves and yet every time he does something it's the same. He runs in with (sometimes) a knife waving around with really no training and he yells and stamps his little foot and he really is just a little kitten that isn't very good at many things which is FINE for the record except he thinks he HAS to be and it's like buddy just chill the fuck out everyone has a job to do here in the Fallocaust. I hope to see change in him in the future. Reaver. I feel like I didn't see as much with him during this book. Which is usually fine I'm okay with visiting other characters and the situations in this book didn't exactly call for this psychopath. That being said I would also like to see some growth from him in the future and I believe we certainly will be seeing that if the epilogue is anything to go off of. Malachy. Kept picturing him as that guy from shameless. Dunno why but it fucked with my head a bit. Reno. What a treasure. Sky. Fuck sky. Silas. Oof.
What can I say about this volume... Nothing or else I'll give something away, but holy hell was that a wild ride, well worth the price of admission. I can hardly wait for the next one, I mean my heart is pumping, thoughts twisting. This book was superb from the first page to the last.
I was sooooo excited to see Quil is planning at least two more books in this series. I thought this was the end, the end, which would have been no bueno.
Luckily, the author’s head is in Fallocaust, and that makes me a very happy plump middle aged woman. While I am reading, anyway.
