More than a quarter of a century has passed since Canada promised to recognize and respect the rights of children under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. This book provides a wonderful overview of children's rights issues in Canada, including both rights to protection and to participation. The authors analyze many different social systems that affect young people, including social services and the legal and educational systems. They also provide a basic overview of the complexities of integrating international law and treaties, such as the UNCRC, into national and provincial law here in Canada.
