Adjacent: A Building 402 Novella

Rate this book
He’s the last guy she should be checking for. Arrogant. Sexy. A Certified F*ckboy. She’s the only girl he can’t seem to get off of his mind. Ambitious. Attractive. Adjacent. The proximity of them being neighbors certainly doesn’t help either of their causes. And when one side is ready to pursue their curiosity about the person next door, it quickly becomes clear that anything goes in Building 402… While this book tells a complete story, it is a novella meaning it is shorter in length by design. If you prefer your stories longer, I’d recommend checking out another Alexandra Warren project. :)

I Really Enjoyed….

Getting to know AJ & Eve ….going the the two of them navigate their way together. AJ knew exactly who and what he wanted, he just had to convince Eve.

The second read was the recently released audiobook narrated by Wesleigh & Myles Washington

The reformed Hoe won 🔥

Falling for your hoe neighbor is a trope I didn’t know I needed! This a short so I don’t want to spoil it all but Eve understood asap why those women kept coming to AJs apartment lol! Alexandra can write a good spicy time ok!?! I’m ready to see who else falls in love in this building! Definitely recommend this fun romance!

2021 Spring Bingo (#SpringIntoLoveBingo🌷): Term of Endearment

The voice is so funny. Had a few issues (weird that the maintenance guy came in without prior contact, italicizing brand names) but overall I really enjoyed myself.

I'm sorry but THE MAINTENANCE MAN STOLE THE SHOW. I can't wait to read his book. With that said, the way he just showed up unannounced was creepy...and I was scared it would go in a bad direction, but I'm glad it didn't.

As for A.J. and Eve, they make a cute couple. But Arthur's revolving door of women that just had to try to get under Eve's skin were soooo annoying. YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE, NOW LEAVE THEM ALONE.

Big Mama is my favourite character, she was hilarious and I hope she gets some cameos in the future books.

Neighbor Bae

🎶🎵All those other women* were practice, they were practice Yeah, for me, for me, for me🎶🎵

Eve had unfortunately become neighbors with the finest fkboy of the century. She low-key was gone give him the googly eyes 🤪 before she realized he had a rotation. She was crazy focused between work and grad school so she didn't need the headache. The way she as the neighbor knew his name and his grunts 🤭 ish was intriguing to say the least.

Art was single and living his best life. He had a good job, he was paid, he had his own crib, he was fine AF and young shii he was using his qualities to fk the baddies and kindly send them on their way. Attachments were not the type of time he was on....well unless his Neighbor Bae wanted to take him serious.

I loved these two together. Loved the back and forth banter with the sexual tension underlying. Aww this was just good! I loved the build up of their relationship and the way Art wasn't afraid of a little adversity. He had to let Eve know those other women were practice 😏 and listen she completely understood. We love a decisive reformed fkboy 🤷🏾‍♀️ A cute, fun read.

Laugh out loud good!!!!!!

Eve crossed next door neighbor, Arthur, off her potential boyfriend list after being forced to listen to his headboard hit her wall, over and over again as he "entertained" his numerous one night stands! So when they both ended up in church on the same Sunday, I couldn't stop laughing.

Now Arthur Is wondering if Eve can ever trust him after all that she has "heard" going on in his bedroom!

Out of all of Alexandra's releases, this one has to go in the top three favorites. If Only For The Summer and Love At First Spite are my other two favs. Art made arrogance look incredibly sexy and the chemistry between him and Eve was hot! Looking forward to what and who comes next from Building 402. Super cute read!

Well

Oh Alexandra, this is why you are one of my top faves. This was so good and refreshing. Not any drama. The couple didn't take long to get together and keep it that way. Great read!!

GREAT READ
My first time reading this authors work and I enjoyed reading this story. Very well written storyline and the character development is great. I loved AJ and Eve's story of neighbors who are secretly lusting after each other. The chemistry between them could no longer be denied and when they decided to take it to the next level, they knew right then they were made for each other. Beautiful love story.

So funny, flirty and a dash of filthy

I absolutely love A Warren - plenty of humor and heat mixed in her stories to give the reader lots of interesting dialogue and scenery on their way to an HEA. “Adjacent” is no exception - plot is funny and the banter between Eve and Arthur is nothing short of hilarious.

And I swear I want to be Big Mama when I get older 😂. Great read, highly recommend!

I found my 1st read by this author an enjoyable one. It was good Arthur was able to back up the words he spoke for Eve was not one to play. Well rounded characters & nicely flowing storyline has me looking forward to reading more of these novellas.

I want more

OMG it was just getting good. I wanted the story to continue. Eve and AJ make the best couple. When a man know he knows. All the other girls will disappear you just have to know when he is being honest and up front that it is the real deal.

Why were their apartment walls so thin, is my first question. This short read was a mix of the male whore next door & frenemies to lovers. I enjoyed watching Arthur’s pursuit of Evelyn. However, her grandma was the star of the show. Eve’s sister was getting on my last nerve, but she came around with great advice towards the end. I’ll most likely continue the series to see what happens with the other characters.

Short. Simple. Sweet

I'm glad Arthur stepped up to the plate and didn't let Eve's demeanor push him away. They were really cute together

AJ and Eve were totally cute and I loved their banter. Attraction aside, they liked one another and that was important. I like the way they handled the bumps in the road. The honesty was refreshing. I also loved the supporting cast- great family connections.

I can't wait to read about the rest of this building.

Cute story!

Eve and Arthur are new neighbors with strong chemistry. Arthur’s reputation with women isn’t impressive. To say the least. Eve likes Arthur, but doesn’t let him get too close in order to avoid the inevitable fall. Arthur, who is used to loving and leaving, can’t figure out why Eve has taken up residence in his head. His refusal to let her go and her refusal to pull him close makes for an interesting round of give and take.
This story was just what I was in the mood for. Something cute, warm, and romantic. Not too much fluff. I love Art & Eve together and the progress Eve made emotionally is a beautiful bonus. Instantly downloading the next book in the collection.

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

I wasn’t sure how to take A.J. at first because he was definitely a f*ckboy, but his actions spoke of his character and his heart. Even though Eve was in denial, he could see the truth and also see that he would have to come correct if he wanted something real for the first time in his life. Now Big Mama was the welcomed surprise! She was beyond hilarious. I needed more of her in my life. I can’t wait until Law’s book comes out because I can already see he is trouble.

Thottie Pippen

It’s been almost six years since I read this book. I decided to revisit it now that it’s available as an audiobook. Of course Wesleigh Siobhan’s narration was perfection. This story was a quick and fun read. Plenty of humor was infused into their spicy courtship. I gotta say, I wouldn’t want Art after knowing he’s so ran through. It was nice to see him hang up his f*ckboy jersery though. Eve was spunky and very likable. Their chemistry was dope. This was the perfect quickie to check out again.

Hello Neighbor ❤

After Wins & Losses, I’ve been anxiously awaiting another book. I was so happy when I stumbled upon Alexandra’s IG and saw this book was coming. Now at first, I was a little nervous with it being a novella. I’ve read a few good novellas, but most of the time I’m left unsatisfied. But what can I say, Alexandra delivered an entertaining/satisfying novella…. but I’m not surprised as she always delivers.

If I could describe Adjacent in one word, I’d say sexy. Almost too sexy. I found myself peeking outside of my apartment building in search of a fine a** neighbor to help me get through these classes I’m starting in a few weeks….

& What I liked the most is that A.J wasn’t a perfect character. We have these romances where you have the perfect man. You know they type. The type that shows up and boom he’s what you been waiting for your whole life. But instead we have A.J, who had women slipping in between his sheets faster than he could change. I loved seeing his growth from being a player to a hopeless romantic!

Now I can’t wait until to hear from Lawson, especially since that man was described to look like Trevante Rhodes!

Enjoyable and funny novella. I can see how other people like this book though it didn’t really hit right for me for some reason. I think it’s more of a personal thing rather than a commentary on the writing. Very sexy writing!

I did really appreciate that there was little conflict and what did exist was very low key and easily resolved.

Small issues:

Neighbors to Frenemies to Lovers

AJ, the poster boy for fucc boys is banging his headboard against his shared wall far too often. To make matters worse Evie, the neighbor finds him annoyingly attractive and has to deal with him regularly as a neighbor and that their best friends are in a relationship. These two banter and give each other the business, but AJ really wants more with Evil and makes the conscious effort to change his ways.

The evolution of AJ and Evie's relationship was a joy to watch. They were hilarious, honest, and genuine. AJ knew he had a reputation he had to overcome when it came to making anything work with Eve, but he was all in and determined to make her see she was who he wanted. I loved that even when they joked and she seemed to want nothing to do with him, he still was a friend that encouraged her and supported her. Absolutely a funny, sweet, hot quick read.

This was a hot, sexy novella😍🔥

Queen Alexandra had me on a high after finishing her Thanksgiving novella. It put some fire in me to finally reading the books about the other 4 previous couples that's been in my library since they were released🤦🏾. Don't judge me, lol.
A.J was a super thot🤣. Due to her being his neighbor, poor Evie was subjected to his thot ways every weekend with his rotation of women😔. I'm glad his talk with his mom had him really reevaluating his whorish ways. That man really changed for her or as his momma said "he found the one that brought him to his knees", lol.
It seemed like every time they were out those women were popping up out of no where😳🤦🏾🤣
I'm so looking forward to reading the rest of this series and the other books mentioned in "No, Thank You" her new holiday novella💕

Just Enough

This novella was just enough to get my attention and peek my interest to want to know more about the residence of Building 402 Evie and Arthur were hilarious. There paper thin walls had me laughing and remembering a time I lived in a building where
Unless. Had the television on or music playing I felt like I was eavesdropping on my neighbor , fortunately it was our living rooms that were connected and not our bedrooms. 😂I loved the way Evie was determined not to give in to Arthur’s allure right a way However I really enjoyed when Arthur decided he was willing to make a change the way he was living in order to win Evie’s heart Like I said this was just enough to make me smile

Cute!

This was a very short, sweet, cute and beautifully orchestrated story of two neighbors that were feeling each other and themselves, literally. The chemistry between A.J. and Eve were off the charts. Their cute, funny, bad boy and bad girl vibe, nonchalant banter towards each other was definitely prevalent, because of the gravitational pull that they couldn't control. I'm just glad their attraction for one another put them on a path of a new discovery of my favorite end to every story I read and that's to experience, that trip, that journey of L-O-V-E. Great Story! ReneeG 👍

Can I move in?

I loved this introduction to the lives and loves of Building 402. Eve is feisty and Art is sexy as hell. Too bad Eve isn't with Art's efforts to get to know her; she's learned all she needs to know because they share a bedroom wall. Together, they have a playfully hateful banter as neighbors that makes you want to see them on each other's good side. Although shorter, this book was no less satisfying than Warren's other books. I definitely enjoyed it and can't wait to read more about this apartment!
