Blood Courtesans

Compelled: Cerise

Rate this book
Sink your teeth into a steamy vampire romance from USA Today bestselling author Rebecca Rivard...

Bard crossed the room. His reflection loomed over mine in the plate glass. “You’re not afraid.” He seemed curious, and a little surprised.

I sipped my vodka tonic. “No.”

“Good.” He tucked a curl behind my ear. “I promise you’ll enjoy yourself.”

“Yeah?” I took his wine glass and set it on the table, then lifted his wrist and ran my lips over the sensitive underside. His skin was cool with an earthy, very male scent. He stilled in the way vampires can so that even their sluggish heart stops beating.

“What are you doing?” His voice was strained.

I scraped my teeth over his wrist. “Earning my pay.”

Welcome to the shadow world of Blood Courtesans.
Where vampires are real, and one wants me—bad.

I’m the perfect slayer. Smart. Sexy. And lethal as hell.

Another wickedly vamp-a-licious must read in the world of the Blood Courtesans! "Compelled: Cerise" grabbed me from the start & held on so tight that I read it in record time! A contemporary PNR, smoking hot romance that will make you wonder if a vampire-slayer can fall for a vampire?! I'll never tell :o What a fresh, unique storyline with amazing attention to detail, well-defined characters & witty dialogue that kept me glued to my seat & turning pages like crazy! I originally read this among others in the boxed set collection I had purchased back in January, so I can honestly recommend this to all adult fans of fiction and look forward to more from this author!

Compelled: Cerise is filled with mystery, suspense, action, and steam that will fog your kindle. Cerise, a vampire slayer known as the Black Angel, has become a Blood Courtesan to get close to her target, Bard. When Felice is found dead, he leaves for Paris and takes Cerise with him. Things are not as they seem. Caution is needed, for betrayal comes from everywhere. The characters are well developed, and the story is full of surprises.

This book was so exciting! What’s better then hot sex with a vampire? How about adding a mystery to it also! Rebecca Rivard did just that in this awesome book of hers. She would turn you on and then add a little more to the mystery. As I got closer to the end of the book, I started reading faster to see what happens. Shock and surprises was what I found, even though I was semi right on one part. I loved fantasizing about Bard, the hot, sexy, full of muscles smooth talking vampire. But I also loved following the storyline and trying to figure out the who and why of the mystery.
Cerise is a top notch vampire slayer trying to get out of the business, until she got a message to slay Bard or her sister is going to be a blood slave. So Cerise becomes a courtesan to get close to Bard and slay him and she only has so many days to do it. Things turned into sex and more sex and Bard wasn’t giving her up for nothing. Then his maker passed and he took Cerise back to Nice with him and that’s when the mystery really took off.
You have a vampire and a slayer wondering if there could be more between them then they are willing to admit. You have a coven without a leader and Bard is next in line followed by John-Paul who is willing to challenge for the spot. And you have betrayal of a friend/PA that will shock you. This is way more than just a romance story and you have to read it to find out why!

I think I have almost all of The Blood Courtesans Series on my Kindle. This is the second one I've read. I really need to read more! I've always enjoyed a hot Alpha vampire! This is the second book written by Rebecca Rivard for this series. Like Ensnared: Star, her first book, Compelled: Cerise is excellent! Bard is a super-sexy, big, blonde Norwegian vampire. Cerise is an infamous Undercover Slayer known as the Dark Angel, trying to leave the Slayer life behind. To save her innocent sister from becoming a blood slave, Cerise is forced to complete one more mission--to slay Bard. Easier said than done...she fixes it so their paths cross, but she didn't count on their chemistry being off-the-charts HOT! This action-packed, steamy-hot, fun read is totally captivating from start to finish. Bard and Cerise sizzle together. Life for each of them becomes rather complicated. I enjoyed every minute of this well-written offering from Rebecca Rivard. I hope she writes more books in this series. Grab Compelled: Cerise and enjoy!

Can Black Angel Do It?

Compelled: Cerise (Blood Courtesans) by Rebecca Rivard is an outstanding mystery, love story and lots of action read. Black Angel is a vampire slayer, one of the best. Baird is a big gorgeous blond vampire she is hired to kill or the powers that be will turn her sister into a blood slave. Black Angel is being blackmailed when all she wants is out. What will she do? Rebecca Rivard has created very real characters with lots of depth to them. The world she has created grabs you and you feel like you are a real part of it. If you want to find out who is black mailing Cerise and if she chooses to love Baird rather than kill him, you need to buy the book. I loved it and I’m sure you will too.

Who doesn't love a GOOD Vampire..

I read this story when it was in the box set but when it came out again I purchased it and read it again. Yeah it's that good. Bard is a tough vampire with good intentions and treats human's good. He falls for the new blood courtesan he met at the courtesan party.. not knowing she's there to kill him...she's a slayer and just wanted out but someone doesn't want her out. Will she fall for him the way he's falling for her? Will she trust him with her secret? Or is she going to kill him? Loved this story. Definitely recommend it!! It's hot and full of action.

Compelled: Cerise (Blood Courtesans) by Rebecca Rivard is a Paranormal, Vampire Romance. Welcome to the shadow world of Blood Courtesans, where vampires are real. Cerise and Bard’s story. In order to get close to him, she becomes his Blood Courtesan. I love the Blood Courtesans series. And this one is a must read! Rebecca Rivard did a beautiful job with Cerise and Bard’s love story. Cerise is an assassin who finds and kills vampires - she is pretty, emotionless and very cool and professional. But she has decided to retire from it until she is blackmailed into doing one more job - but the target is a blond Viking and after going undercover to kill him she joins forces with him to find out who is behind the blackmail. However there is a fly in the ointment - she falls in love with him.

This is a great story. lots of action and twists and turns in a complex story. Very enjoyable.

The best of the series.

Unlike most in these stories, Cerise does not become a courtesan because she is desperate for money. She is also not ignorant about vampires. She is a brave and strong vampire slayer. She holds her own against the will of vampires. Bard is the vampire she is hired to kill. She is attracted to him. Cerise is Bard's equal when it comes to fighting the evil vampires who want to take over the coven and keep blood slaves. She is a great heroine.

A vampire romance where keeping your enemy close has a whole new meaning. With one kick butt woman that can take on any vampire, you know the story will have action. But when she meets one vampire who looks like a Viking, well she may have to change her stance on vampires. A must read for any PNR reader.

I just love the Blood Courtesans series. These have all been amazing books, and this was no exception. Rebecca Rivard did an amazing job with Compelled: Cerise. It caught you right from the start pulling you into the action, and the mystery of the tale. I was trying to figure out who was blackmailing her. Not to mention her amazing Vampire Bard. You will not want to miss a moment of their story to see how it turns out.

The slayer that fell in love with her target.

Bard is to be next in line to be Lord of his coven , if something ever happened to the Lady of the coven. But you see there is one that wanted all. You'll have to read to see who. Cerise is a slayer Posing as blood courtesan. That's where it gets interesting. So worth reading. If you like vampires you will love all the blood courtesan series.

I'm not usually a paranormal romance reader, but I ended up reading this one and it delivered and then some. When a kickass vampire slaying heroine meets the sexy vampire she's supposed to kill, her plans go a little bid sideways. It had scorching heat that had my Kindle smoking from time to time. A great mystery twisted into the love story to give it an extra level of awesome. Five stars for this book, and it won't be my last with this author.

The Black Angel

I always enjoy the Blood Courtesans books, but this one totally captured my attention. It is an excellent paranormal romantic suspense.

Cerise is a Duvall, from a family of slayers who can't be compelled. She has worked for Slayers, Inc her entire adult life, killing vampires who needed to be killed. But the last two years, she's noticed a change in her assignments and has made plans to get out of the business. Then she gets a text giving her a new target, a short timeline, and threatening to turn her little sister into a blood slave if she doesn't succeed. So Cerise does what she must. She applies to become a Blood Courtesan and makes sure she crosses paths with her target.

Bard is second to Felice as leader of the Nice coven, though business often takes him to other locations. He's in the U.S. when he receives word of Felice's death, just as he's getting to know Cerise, his new Blood Courtesan. So he takes her with him to return to Nice to investigate the murder, knowing he has a strong rival for the position of Lord of the coven, but not knowing he is taking an even greater threat, a notorius slayer, the Black Angel, into the coven's stronghold with him.

He is a vampire and she is a slayer. She is paid to go undercover and kill the blonde vampire. Things are not what they seem. They have both been lied to and they may need to work together to get to the truth. Can they stay neutral towards each other? Will things change? Follow their adventures

A light, easy read with good action and an interesting story. Half of it is sex scenes...would have preferred more action and less sex, but still a good read. Not sure I'll continue the series, though.
