I will show them. Especially my scumbag ex. Whatever it takes. This is the new Amy.
It’s going to take a lot of convincing. Sam probably won’t like my proposal. We haven’t spoken in 10 years. Neither of us handled that mess with grace. I most certainly didn’t.
Even though nothing happened. There were so many emotions at stake. Attraction. Passion. Desire even. But today he probably hates me. His brother surely does.
But this is an important day. Everyone will be there. Friends, associates… and my ex. I need to show them. I have moved on. Even if I have to fake it.

The Bad Boys With Benefits series (originally published as Dirty Mechanic) revolves around the car repair shop where they all work. Some say it’s the hottest garage in town.
I Will Fake It (originally published as Fake It) is a steamy hot Fake Fiancé With Benefits Romance that will keep you up at night. Full length, standalone, no cheating, no cliffhangers and a Happily Ever After.
Blurb: DESPERATE TIMES CALL FOR DESPERATE MEASURES A complicated and off the charts HOT romance is about to unfold.
She’s stalked by her ex-husband. Her artist career is in great jeopardy. She needs help from someone she trusts. Someone she once secretly fell in love with and left.
As if no time has passed, Amy stands right before him when he answers the door. Even more beautiful than he remembered.
She's astonished how Sam has matured from a handsome boy to a real man with rugged looks and body to die for.
It was unforgivable the way she had turned her back on his brother and just vanished from the neighborhood many years ago.
Amy appears to be very successful these days, but Sam couldn’t care less. Not even when she reveals that her actual situation is far from it. Once bitten, twice shy.
This is when she presents a bold proposition that puts him in a very difficult spot.
Melissa Devenport never fails to deliver a story that will catch the imagination of her reader. FAKE IT just happens to be one of those stories. Connected to her "Tattoo World", this is the story of Sam and Amy, best friends since kindergarten.
Sam was always in love with Amy, even when she chose his twin brother over him. but she moved to Florida, to change her life, she married a lawyer named Richard but eventually divorced him. However after a year and a half of stalking her, Richard has decided that she needs him back in her life. As a result she moves back to her hometown with a proposition for Sam. Will he agree to her request or will he turn her down?
I must admit, at first I didn't like Amy, she seemed to be using Sam's history of his love for her to benefit her own needs. As the story progressed, I started to like her more and more. She was in a bed situation and she desperately needed help to get out of it. Sam realises that Amy is no longer the girl he once knew and all he wishes for is that the "old" Amy will return. Once thrown together in their awkward situation, Sam and Amy are quite funny together. The also share some very hot and steamy scenes that will fog up your reading glasses. The burning question though ... is fake turning into real? Are Sam and Amy falling in love?
Another great read from Melissa and highly recommended.
Ms. Devenport always writes an excellent story, and she’s done so again with this pretty unique fake fiancé novella. As well-written as this one is, I’ll admit that it started out a bit of a tough sell for me. The main love interests, Sam and Amy, just didn’t immediately win me over—I found them tough to relate to. Amy in particular just seemed shallow and weak, although to be fair both characters were masters of denial. Early on, I worried that this story just wasn’t going to be for me.
But as Amy’s scheme progressed with all the finesse of a penguin on stilts, I began to see more of the character in both of these one-time friends. They finally drew me in. One of my favorite things was seeing the amount of growth in these characters as they worked things out.
Some adult language and steamy love scenes make this a story that can be shared with your co-workers. This enjoyable read is a great demonstration of family, communication, and the beauty of second chances.
A novella length romance. The story line is okay and it flows smoothly. I must admit that my first opinion of the main female character was not very good. I did not like the use of emotional blackmail she used on the main male character nor her allowing his parents to coerce him into assisting her. Over the course of the story I felt better about her. This reader found that there was a moral to the story. If you are already upset about a situation but choose not to do anything but be upset, how do you know if you do something abou5t it that the result might be that you are no longer upset. This logic was provided to the main male character by two of his co-workers. Very true adage!
I voluntarily received an advance review copy of this novel and I am leaving an honest and unbiased review. I have no affiliation to this author.
Writing was stilted, the characters were flat, and the story dragged on way too long. Everyone spoke so formally, with very few contractions. The author kept talking about how much emotion and feeling each character was experiencing, but I never felt the emotions. (Although I did find it frustrating when Amy mentioned never crying, but is constantly fighting off tears.)
And at one point two characters switch. (At the beginning of the book there is mention that Sam's co-worker Jay has married Rone's sister. Then towards the end of the book, Rone married Jay's sister.) Also, while I don't like books where the guys talk amongst themselves using vulgar language, having these mechanics stop and share an "Oprah moment" was just as unbelievable.
Will not be reading any more from this author. It just made me too angry.
Amy and Sam have known each other since they were kids, they were the best of friends. As they got older Amy started dating Sam’s twin brother. After graduation Amy knew she needed to get away and not look back, breaking not only her heart but Sam and Howie’s as well. Ten years later, Amy needs help and there is only one person she trusts enough to turn too.
Sam thought he was content in life. He worked hard and visited his parents every Sunday because nothing was better than his mom’s cooking. While there one day the doorbell rang and he was more than surprised when he answered the door.
Will Sam help Amy out or turn his back on her like she did to them ten years ago?? Will he get the answers he needs to finally move forward??
I am not big on second chance stories. But I do enjoy Melissa's stories, so I thought what the heck.
Amy and Sam have been friends since childhood. But different things have happened that made their friendship fall apart.
When Amy comes back home after getting a divorce. Although her ex-husband doesn't seem to want to leave her alone. So while she is being stalked by him. Amy and Sam find a new relationship growing. But is it real or fake? Is Amy using Sam to protect herself, or is she falling for him?
Melissa Devenport books aren't good because of the steam level. Nor the interesting array of characters. Her books are good because they show heart and intense in depth thinking of the story. This story bought you the tale of unrequited love that took blossom a decade later. True love revealed to these beautiful characters that it was well worth the wait and that that love could usher in more rays of sunshine. An exceptional story of second chances. And it is definitely worth recommendation and its FIVE STAR rating.
Very well written with nice story line and plot. A story of a nice length. A story that is a bit different that normally romance reads. A woman that has a lot thrown down at her. How can she survive all that? Likeable well described characters that develops through the story. Amazing chemistry and passion. I like the unexpected twists and turns. Captivating and enjoyable read. Steamy scenes that are realistic and hot. The mix of danger, drama, secrets, passion and twists makes it a great read. Recommendable.
Fake It, is connected to the Tattoo series by author Melissa Devenport. This is a very entertaining read that will pull your heartstrings and capture your sense of happily ever after. The saying, “you can never go back home” - well in this story and sometimes in life is utterly ridiculous!! You can go home again- always you just need the strength and courage to take those first steps. Enjoy reading how these characters manage those steps. Enjoy!!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Amy and Sam was a sweet wonderfully story of reconnection with a childhood friend to ask for help with her ex-husband. This story was one sexy steamy read plus they still have chemistry thats off the charts. So can they fake it to make for HEA or go there separate ways, Well you just to ONE-CLICK NOW. A must read, I voluntarily read an Advanced Readers Copy. Well done Melissa
Amy and Sam have been in love since they were kids only neither knew of how the other felt. It took Amy trying to prove that she moved on and "hiring" Sam to play the part of her fake fiancé to bring them together finally.
The book was good. The story line was good. I enjoyed the fact the charecters and thir relationship developed organically.
Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is a good read, with steam, drama, and characters that seemed shallow. It took some time for me to like and relate to these characters, thankfully during the course of the story the H/h were more relatable. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
This book is just not for me. I found it hard to connect with the characters. It was a quick read and even though I didn't like it you should give it a try. You midnight love it.
Take it until it's obvious you've always loved it! Love it!
Amazing read and had everything a book should have. Love this book.. Absolutely will be reading it again! Anyone whose every been in love and then ground each other again . This would and how it should be written..
I really enjoy fake fiance books. I just couldn't get into it though I did finish it. I found the writing very immature, the dialogue was stilted and immature, and I just didn't really care for the characters. I love this author, but this one is just a not one for me.
I got to 44% and could not finish it. It did not make sense. It was so high schoolish. Silliest quote. "Of course he hadn’t stated anything sexual, but that didn’t mean he didn’t mean it." Seriously?
