अंतर्बाह्य हादरवून टाकणाऱ्या गोष्टी.. सगळ्याच कथा भन्नाट आहेत आणि शेवटची ‘गोष्ट अजून संपली नाहीं..’ तर पुस्तक संपताना अंगाचा थरकाप उडवून जाते!

खरंतर मी भयकथा खूप आधी वाचायचे, नंतर आवड बदलली आणि भयकथा वाचणं सोडून दिलं. मागच्या वर्षी social media वरून हृषिकेश गुप्तेंबद्दल कळलं, आणि kindle वर अंधारवारीचं sample download केलं. ओघवती भाषा आणि उत्सुकता वाढवत नेणारी पहिली कथा वाचताना पुस्तक वाचत गेले.
तर एकूण सहा भयकथांचा हा संग्रह, साधारण 2009-10 च्या सुमारास लिहिलेल्या. त्यातील काही दिवाळी / इतर काही मासिकांमधून प्रसिद्ध झालेल्या. भयकथा असल्या तरी 3-4 कथा खरंतर मनोविकार असणाऱ्या लोकांच्या. आधी सांगितल्याप्रमाणे ओघवती भाषा आणि वेगळे विषय असल्यामुळे आपण त्यात गुंतत जातो, उत्सुकता वाढत जाते. कथांचा शेवटही चांगला केला आहे, पण पुस्तकाचा मुख्य उद्देश कथा नसून आपलं त्यात गुंतत जाणं हेच असावं. भयकथा म्हणायच्या तरी खूप भीती वाटेल असं त्यात काही नाहीये (म्हणजे भुतं वगैरे काही नाही, एखादी कथा सोडून), मानवी भावनांत थोडी गूढता आणि विकार मिसळून लिहिलेल्या या कथा.
काही गोष्टींमधली दृश्य काही भय चित्रपटात बघितल्यासारखी वाटतात, पण ते अगदीच क्वचित. पुस्तक लिहून एक दशक उलटून गेल्यामुळेही असेल म्हणा. (तरी कथेतला जिवंतपणा संपत नाही.)
जर भयकथा आवडत असतील, किंवा कधीतरी बदल म्हणून वाचायच्या असतील, थोडं वेगळं, नव्या लेखकाचं पुस्तक वाचायचं असेल तर हे पुस्तक नक्कीच आवडेल.

A gem in disguise!
After reading almost all of Ratnakar Matkari books, I was looking for another author in horror genre. I stumbled upon this book while surfing on Amazon. Read some reviews about it, which are very less btw & thought to give it a try.
& what a delight it was!
I started with the shortest story in this collection- Bandekarancha Bal. As I was on the last paragraph of the story, I was thinking how I haven't heard of Rushikesh Gupte till now. I was sure if all the stories in the book are at par of this story, this book is going to my favorite collection.
As I read the last story of this collection, it turned out I liked remaining stories even better than Bandekarancha Bal.
I'll surely be devouring the next short story collection from this author- Ghangard soon!

खुप मस्त पुस्तक
हृषिकेश गुप्ते सर आपलं लेखन कमाल आहे. वाचकाला जागीच खिळवून वाचणाऱ्या कथांच्या विश्वात नेण्याची ताकद आपल्या लेखणीत आणि आपल्या शब्दांत आहे. वाचत असताना प्रत्येक पानागणिक उत्कंठा वाढतच जाते, आणि पूर्ण वाचल्याखेरिज मग राहवत नाही. अप्रतिम पुस्तक.

This book is more about psychology of mind ,fear,anxiety,pressure,tension which then converted into fear ,hallucinations of fear in mind etc. I picked this book as I read somewhere that, this authors style is different , its about psychoanalysis of fear etc. and his books/stories are much more fearful than narayan dharap and ratnakar matkari etc.
Reaction after reading book:
This book is just a below exception book. Not even near to Narayan Dharap ,forget about Ratnakar Matkari . description of Psychoanalysis of fear is correct, characters seems to end their life through suicide etc. But The Genre of Horror,mystry doesnt fit for this book. Its of different (but near to ) these genres but still not effective one. stories are over stretched looses interest of reader. I wont recommend this authors book to anyone, its a sheer waste of time.

पहिलीच कथा ज्यावर पुस्तकाचे नाव दिले गेले आहे ती एकदम भन्नाट... डोक्याचा पार भुगा विचार करून त्या बद्दल..इतर कथा वाचायला अजून मन पुढे धावू लागत... प्रत्येक कथेत लेखकाने जी कल्पना शक्ती आणि बहुदा मानसशास्त्रीय अनुभव यांचा वापर करून खूप खतरनाक कथानिर्मिर्ती केली आहे...
