She couldn't help the little gasp that escaped her lips when out came the sexiest man she had ever seen. Shayna is awestruck upon meeting a handsome stranger. She soon learns things aren't always what they seem.
Shayna mentally shook herself when she realized her jaw had gone slack as she took in the raw masculinity of the man before her. Then she froze as she realized he'd paused on his way into the nightclub. She looked back up to his face and he appeared to be staring in her direction. Shayna quickly looked around her and saw that she was standing apart from anyone else milling about the sidewalk. When her gaze was drawn back to the man, their eyes locked for a moment before he began a slow perusal of her body. She could feel him taking in her soft brown eyes, perky nose, and softly rounded mouth. Heat suffused her warm brown skin as his eyes traveled the length of her exposed neck and chest to the tops of her full breasts as they strained against the bustier bodice of her little black dress. She held her breath as his eyes dipped to her small waist and the full skirt of her dress that stopped mid-thigh, on to her shapely legs and her black stiletto mules.
His eyes slowly retraced their path and once again locked with hers. There she saw what she could only describe as a predatory gleam and she shuddered a little at the smirk that played about his lips. Her free hand nervously fluttered up to the back of her neck to smooth away an imaginary stray hair as her hair was pulled into a tight bun atop her head. He looked as if he was going to approach her when suddenly she heard someone calling her name. Shayna's hand dropped and she spun on her heel to see her cousin rushing up to her with two other women in tow.
Jamie Lake is the author m/m gay romances such as The Trainer, Boyfriend for Rent, Marked for Love, Bad Boy: Naughty at Night, Stay Always and many others.
But the book wasn't a bwwm ok. It is bwbm an i like that but the false an misleading the reader is how one lose support from fellow readers. The end was wrong you could have finished this book for in this book alone i see Several stories that could spin off. The mom and dad of jake. Jake brother story. Who is his other brothers an sisters. Shay cousin. Then the story of her great grandma and the red wolf. There is a whole lot of storries that can be written from this one story. I do understand the other readers rating but this was a good story that was building than you stop it at the climax. You need to reread your story and put out the whole book not half of it. The next book would be BWWM. The great grandma and the red wolf. Do some spell check and look at your word placement and this book is a winner. I gave my rating for the ending and the misleading of labeling the book a BWWM and words not in the correct placement.
The book was well written and was definitely intriguing. 2 BIG issues for me though and both feel like false advertising. The first is that the genre was mis-labeled. This was NOT a BWWM. It was still a wonderful book and I enjoy BWBM as well. It's just that I selected the book expecting one thing and received another. THE BIGGEST issue of the 2 is the ending --- or rather lack of ending. I'm not even sure you can call this a cliffhanger as it was more of just an abrupt stop. What was the author & the editor thinking????? If it was meant to be a cliffhanger, it would have been helpful to include that information and some expectation as to when the conclusion could be expected. If the ending was meant to be as it was --- I can only say, VERY POOR CHOICE.
The plot was engrossing and the characters were easy to love but why oh why did the editor of this book allow this writer to end the book in this manner. This was no cliffhanger but an abrupt end at the end of a paragraph. I almost wish 'everyone died in the end' then what did/did not happen after the last period. I looked at other reviews of this author and she has done this before. I am glad I did not pay for this book.
I really enjoyed this book all the way through this is my first time reading from this author but will not be the last. Can't say I liked the ending but I'm assuming there will be a part two to this story I hope.
This is the first time I've read anything by this author. Why is there not a warning that it's a cliffhanger? The book just stops, until then I was enjoying it. Who knows when the next one will come if ever!
In the title it says "BWWM" and that was a lie. I can't tell if the ending was dropped due to a glitch or if the writer forgot to finish the book! I refuse to think of that mess as a cliffhanger! I would not recommend this book to anyone.
