Memories will make you.

Natalie isn’t dead, but her past is. With Protocol 00 finally having been shut down, the free will of the country was received at the price of the memories of Natalie. After being found trespassing in Area 51 she is taken as prisoner where her mind is wiped and life meets its impending doom. However, just before she is about to be executed she is broken out of Area 51 by the White Knights, where she is thrust into a war-torn land with the expectation that she will lead the overthrow of President Ash’s regime once and for all.

But although Natalie wants to help end all the destruction she feels she has caused, she wants to get her memories and past back more than anything. Surrounded by lies and manipulation, Natalie quickly realizes that no one seems to care or have answers about her past. And with the government still out to kill her, the real struggle becomes, not if she will get her memories back, but if she will live to make more.

I abandoned the idea of writing this review by retelling what happened to Natalie and Ethan after escaping death from the hands of merciless President Ash in the bowels of Area 51 because the ending of Delusional, book 2 in Control Freakz Series, surprised me so much that I still try to process what on earth happened and why the author did it!

I want to hang on to this feeling, without spoiling much the reading to those of you who will grab this futuristic, dystopian, action-packed thriller, eager to see what has Natalie gone through before completing a full circle from escaping to returning to the hateful Area 51 facility where she left behind not only the ones she loved most, but also the vital part of herself—her memories.

After posting this review, I’m moving on to the last book in the Control Freakz Series box set, where I also read this book. The suspense and adrenaline in me are still high and waiting won’t help. Thirteen months after reading the first book in the series, Michael Evans hooked me again with this story and I am determined to plunge without delay into another set of action scenes, mind and political games and fights for the world domination, manipulations, dark thoughts and personal crisis, not delusional but aware that I should expect the unexpected.

Delusional was intense, thought provoking, and driven. Full of action, self discovery, and horror, this one was an adrenaline ride. It was fast paced, emotional, and surprising!

It was a continuation of an intense fight for survival amidst a terrifying war and rebellion. It was a story about self doubt, guilt, depression, and love. It was unpredictable and compelling.

I definitely enjoyed this one better than book 1. I felt like I was right in the middle of things with Natalie, and it was terrifying. I enjoyed getting to know her character better, and found it intriguing that she went on a second journey of self discovery that allowed for reminiscing from the first book as a refresher.

The writing seemed to improve a little from Control Freakz. I was still impressed that this young author managed to capture my attention, and kept me glued to the book long enough to finish it in one sitting! There was still room for improvement as far as tenses went and not trying to be so descriptive at times, but the heart of the story was there, and the excitement and story twists kept me reading until the heart wrenching cliff hanger!

I enjoyed how intense and refreshing this one was. It reminded me a little of The Hunger Games and Divergent, but it also felt unique and exciting. I felt like the story continued at a nice pace, and I was left craving the next book!

Thank you to the author for providing me with this free e-book in exchange for my honest review.

I received this book to give an honest review.
I see so much potential for this book to be great, yet it was not there I just can not put my finger on what it is that is holding it back. The characters were okay, at times I felt Natalie was in repetition mode when we were told something. It felt rushed at times like trying to make it all come together fast. It had been a while since I read the first book and I would recommend going back and rereading the first one. As I started the book out sorta confused. There were a lot of grammar mistakes, little ones, but if you found someone who felt they were the grammar police it would be a big deal. As the story progresses we see that Natalie and Ethan loses their memories, that is a big thing yet do they really want them back? The are on the run from President Ash and it seems he will stop at nothing to get them both. Natalie is having so much happen around her and everyone wants something from her. it is hard for her to find herself. We see what Natalie will have to go through to get her memory back, yet the question will be is that good or bad. Who can she really trust? It seems everyone has an agenda when it comes to Natalie. There was one part that had me going OMG!! That was towards the end when Natalie and Ethan found what they thought they were looking for. I did wonder about the helicopter and exactly how big it was because you got folks getting up walking around, hitting others and I am thinking how is that happening because they don't seem to have a lot of room. The fighting scenes are pretty good and it was nice to see that Natalie can fight back once she got her memory back. I do believe I will read book three to see if there are some improvements and what will happen now. I hated to give this book 2 stars but it just wasn't clicking for me.

I picked this up as the first one had intrigued me and I wanted to see where the author went with the story. I felt like I was pulled in, yet there were times when there seemed to be too much of the same thing. Natalie has lost her memories and is in a race against time to either get them back or learn to move on without them. Yet everyone around her wants something from her, whether that's what she wants or not. She's left without a choice and while she fights against the system, she finds hope in that one day she will truly be whole again. I enjoyed the read and didn't see the ending coming. I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series!
