All of her life Isabelle had been told how ugly and useless she was. Can Abe convince her of her worth before her light goes out for good? How will he react when he finds out she's been lying to him? Will the pressures of being the deputy's wife be more than Isabelle can bear? Isabelle is the third in the Girls of Twin Reach Saloon series, each following the lives of a different saloon girl as they strive for a life of freedom from their past. If you enjoyed Annabelle and Maybelle, you'll enjoy catching up with them when Isabelle and Abe pay them a visit. This book contains non consensual spanking for the purpose of domestic discipline.
I know this is fiction, but what kind of woman believes their actions should be punished physically by a less than perfect man? Not only accept punishment but thank the man for carrying it out and believing it is all done in the name of love? Isabelle and her friends are such women. Not only do they suffer physical abuse, but humiliation. Isabelle's so loving husband opens a window to allow the street to hear her screams, switched her bare bottom in front of his friends (while they do similar to their wives), makes her stand in a corner naked with her face to the wall; even the widowed seamstress allows the sheriff to do the same to her. Where is their gumption? They act like puppets. ' You lied about baking a cake?' Get the switch out. 'You opened the door to a stranger?' S spanking is in order. 'You threw a temper tantrum?' Bare your bottom and bend over. Drivel, drivel, drivel! The whole story is about spanking with no other plot involved. The author gets the name of a character wrong at the ending also. If this is talented writing then we are all talented as anyone can write a story with no plot, two dimensional characters, crying, whining women and abuse.
I'm conflicted. There were some awesome spanking scenes in this one. I did get very irritated with the spanking for not eating though. He went about that all the wrong way, even when he could see that she was not doing it deliberately. There were some really sweet and tender moments between Abe and Isabelle. You can tell he loves her even though he is pretty clueless with some of the stuff he says. Isabelle is a very strong woman who has been through a lot in life and has the emotional scars to prove it. I do wish Able would have been a bit more vocal in his support of Isabelle with the way she was treated in town. He really needs to learn to communicate a bit better too.
I've really enjoyed the 3 books I've read so far, I loved isabelle' fiery character and I do love a good girl fight so this has been a fun read. It's also nice to see the characters from the previous books included in each story
