This Irresistible read features stories of couples turning their deepest fantasies into reality for uninhibited and imaginative sex. You’ll delight in discovering all the exciting erotic possibilities, and ways of getting and staying turned on. It all starts with a little sexting in A.M. Hartnet’s sizzling “Safe fro Work” office tryst and Cole Riley’s moving “Same As It Ever Was” shows that makeup sex can be the start of something new and better. Dirty talk leads to lustful surprises and inspiration for the neighbors in “The Mitzvah” by Tiffany Reisz. Editor Rachel Kramer Bussel notes that the lovers in this daringly romantic anthology are “able to open up in the ways they do is precisely because they have another person to rely on, coax them, challenge them, tease them and seduce them into traveling down a new sexual path. Whether that means outdoor sex, kink, a trip to a strip club or a very sensual massage, we get to see how the layers of trust that have been built up get used to stoke the fire that burns between them.”

I'd never really thought about it before, but I suppose one would more often see "two people meet" stories in erotica rather than stories about established couples. Funny how a common state of existence can suddenly seem so novel. Irresistible focuses mainly on heterosexual, monogamous couples, but the results are far from boring, and other sexual variances make their way into fray. The writing is mostly strong, and most every story is satisfying.

I was introduced to sixteen new authors in this anthology. The tales included here have something for everyone. I can’t say I loved everyone one but I can honestly say there was not one that I would say I didn’t like. I am sure when you read it you will pick your own favorites, if you like erotica there is something for everyone to enjoy here. I will tell you that contained in these pages are authors I will be keeping an eye on for future reading material.
A few of the topics made me a little uncomfortable but that has never stopped me before. Sometimes squirming in my seat is exactly what I’m looking for. Some stories are loving and monogamous and some are definitely raunchy and have more than two participants. Other than that I will say no more because I hate spoilers. While reading this book every time I finished a story I would clear my mind to prepare for the next tale and each time I was pleasantly surprised. I say surprised because usually when I read an anthology I find more often than not at least one of the stories I have to struggle through, that did not happen this time.
Warning: Definitely some raunchy/out of the ordinary sex. If you are looking for romantic this may not be for you.
This book is a series of smexy little reads. Some of them were really hot and others only made it to lukewarm. I don't mind quick hot reads, I have just come to a place I prefer a story around my steam. This is great for somebody who is looking for the steam alone. Each story has a little set-up, but the sex is more the point than an in-depth story.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Avery Wolf and a host of other voices. It has more of a radio play feel. Personally I found the changes jarring, but I was doing a one sitting listen. I am sure if couples listened they would space things out and probably not notice the changes as much. I liked the tone and pace, just wasn't feeling all the extra voices.
Overall this was a smexy read but I think it is more for couples to listen together or somebody only looking for steam to heat them up.

BRIEF SUMMARY This is a collection of erotic stories involving couples.
THOUGHTS I have to say these stories were sexy and even exciting. Some story lines for me were ok and others were more than I expected as they were experiencing something new. Even with the stories that were ok, physically the book was a turn on. I definitely think there is a little something for readers and find myself fantasizing as well.
Storyline; FAIRLY GOOD Enjoyment: GOOD Intimacy Level: D.R.I.P (don't read in public)/ SPICY
I did not enjoy this collection. After reading Dirty Dates and absolutely LOVING that collection, I bought a bunch of collections by Rachel Kramer Bussel, and so far have not been impressed. I'm not sure if there's anything wrong with these stories, and they're simply not to my taste, or if they are genuinely not good work. I just felt like these stories had SO MUCH world building that not much time was left for the erotic. and what erotic storytelling was left just didn't feel very erotic. The married couple having sex in a tree, while other trees in their neighborhood were cut down, felt really distracting and difficult to follow. I just didn't get it. The African-set story about Babatunde and his wives and lovers was interesting. Hurrah for inclusivity. but it was kind of a downer too. Also an inclusive choice was the urban fiction-style short. Once again, I appreciated a different perspective, but found it difficult to cheer for a couple who were each unfaithful. Maybe that's just a personal hangup of mine? Overall, I was just disappointed and not engaged. It took me months to force myself through the collection (especially that tree story--and I LIKE trees. yuck.). I still have another collection or two by RKB to read, but I think I'll read something else for awhile and hope I enjoy it better.
DNF. To be transparent, I didn't read all of it. Just skimmed the first few stories but I don't think some of these writing styles were for me. Seemed too mechanical and didn't do it for me.
It was refreshing reading an erotica anthology with established couples! As with any anthology, it was a mixed bag, though some I really enjoyed, so it was overall alright.
This anthology of romantic and erotic short stories will catch and keep your attention. Couples use their imagination to challenge and even surprise each other in a variety of sexual scenarios. Which story will be your favourite...?
