Book Description Former Army Ranger Beau Jennings is first and foremost—just and only—that hard man in the darkest night holding fast against his country’s enemies, destroyers, and invaders. He’s a Viking. One of King Leonidas’ suicidal Spartans. A man forever alone. War was what he was made for and war is what he does best. He doesn’t aspire to anything higher. He has long since accepted his place in the world—until a woman of sunshine, light, and grace comes along...
Dr. McKenna Fitzgerald never married. A dedicated pediatrician, her life’s work is caring for other people’s children. After surviving childhood abuse at her mentally ill mother’s hand, she’s determined no little one in her care will ever experience what she lived through. It’s a noble calling, helping children and their parents navigate those stressful early years. She couldn’t be happier. She’s content and she’s successful. She has everything she’s ever wanted. Doesn’t she?
Growing up in the countryside of Wisconsin, I always wanted to be a writer. I've dabbled in poetry, short stories, and more daydreaming than most. Way back when, I remember long Sunday afternoon drives with my parents where they'd tell us eight kids to, 'Look out the window and see something!'
I've been looking out the window ever since . . .
In the great Northwest pines, I saw a woman who had nowhere to run find refuge in the arms of a tender warrior seeking his own road to healing. In the hills of Wyoming, I saw a broken man who thought he'd lost everything rediscover the man he was in the eyes of a pretty girl. And in the Dairy State, (yes Wisconsin), I saw two people fall in love and overcome horrific obstacles on their way to happily-ever-after.
Life is short. Pick up a good book. Read. Write. Enjoy. Look out the window and see something!
Omg i have never wanted to hug someone more than I’ve wanted to hug Beau. I love all of Irish winters books but this one tugged at my heart more than anything.
When it comes to Irish Winters and her TEAM you can count on an amazing story!! Beau has had a very hard life and therefor he lives for himself and knows he cant count on anyone around him to help. So when he finds his life in the hands of a crazy sadist he thinks he can take her on by himself without listening to Alex and the Team, However he soon finds out the road is a lot easy and enjoyable with brothers beside you and a warm woman to come home to. McKenna has one love in her life, her dad, she knows he loves her and will protect her from anything, after all he had to do it her whole childhood from the only other person that should have been there for her. But she has grown up and put her past behind her and done well for herself as a doctor dedicated to helping others i her community especially the children. So when her best friend calls her and asks for help but cant say why only that she will be sending a body guard to escort her McKenna is ready to help but is not ready for the change and horror that is about to follow her and possibly the family history that is about to be unearthed. This book is a must read but it does come with a WARNING: You WILL stay up all night finishing the book and you WILL need a box of tissues at your side.
Another must read from Irish Winters! Beau Jennings, the newest member of the TEAM, is a belligerent, foul mouthed former Army Ranger who is sure he needs no one and that no one needs him. Alex Stewart, owner of the elite covert TEAM unit, is ready to give up on him when Beau mysteriously disappears and a "memento" shows up. Alex knows he has to find his junior agent and fast. Dr. McKenna Fitzgerald is called upon to help when Jr. Agent Jennings appears out of nowhere and collapses in the Stewart family kitchen. She doesn't know what to think of this pig headed man and his inability to follow orders, like resting! It isn't until she is also taken and harmed that these two tortured souls begin to realize they can't make it alone. They both have to learn to trust before they can learn to.love. An action packed page turner with twists from every angle, you'll find yourself on the edge of your seat one minute and weeping the next. It is not often a book will successfully take you through so many emotions! Well done, Ms. Winters.
You can always count on needing a box of tissue and an ice cold drink when reading one of Irish Winters In the Company of Snipers series and BEAU IS NO EXCEPTION! What wonderful story with the best of the best broken men who don't need all the king's men, just the team and their women to put them back together again.
Beau's a hard case with more baggage than allowed on an airplane. His youth was beyond horrible. His military time was fraught with loss and danger as an Army Ranger. His present is a mess with survivors guilt and more.
McKenna is a pediatrician who is called on to provide emergency treatment when Beau escapes from a sadistic enemy. Even in the midst of this evil situation both are drawn to each other. When she is rescued he becomes her lifeline. Neither planned on a relationship and certainly not love.
Will they be given the chance to find what they can be? Or will they let fear of a future tear them apart? Those will be choices if only they can survive the enemy who is out to ruin...Beau?...McKenna? Alex's team? All of the above?
Be prepared to be captured from the prologue all the way to THE END. Maybe the most tears will come when you read those last two words and know you are all done with their story.
Beau Jennings isn’t exactly making it easy for anyone on the TEAM to get close to him and Alex has just about had it with him. He is belligerent, angry and uncooperative, however, there has been so much sadness in his life it made me want to reach out and take him into my arms! Wow! He has gone through so much it is so wonderful that Dr. McKenna Fitzgerald has come into his life. She has had her own sorrows and it is nice to see them connect. It certainly wasn’t difficult to fall in love with both of these characters. Now Catalina Montego was another story; she has got to be one of the most sadistic, unlikable villains I have ever come across. It was difficult reading about some of the horrific things this woman did. As usual, Irish Winters gives us an emotional, well written story with plenty of twists, action and suspense. I must admit I did rush through this one as I was anxious to see what would happen next. I must go back and reread it more slowly next time to see what I may have missed! Lol! I highly recommended Beau. It is an emotionally entertaining read you won’t be able to put down.
Irish Winters grabs your heart once again with Beau. Such a strong man - with his ghosts and insecurities that affect every part of his life and heart. The twists and turns in this book keep you guessing making it hard to put this book down until the end....but when it's over you just want more! I enjoyed it from beginning to end, and can't wait until her next release so I can continue with my family of heroes - Alex and his men.
I don’t even know where to begin. Irish Winters has done it again. She has somehow managed to take these tough as nails, wounded warriors, on an emotional roller coaster with twists and sadistic turns a normal human cannot fathom.
Poor Beau and MacKenzie have both been abused by the very people that should’ve loved and protected them from harm. Winters has a way of taking warped circumstances and weaving them into a fabulously wonderful tale of redemption and love!
Each and every book, i think Irish Winters cannot top her last one...then i read her latest and she does it again. I loved Beau, from the start the story got my heart racing - Who did Cat take, Would the person be found, Will Alex' family be harmed? So many questions, but Irish answered them and more. Great book, another must read!
Beau was a thrilling ride, with one twist after another. Just when you think you’ve figured out who’s behind it all or what’s going to happen next, you’re thrown for a loop. Definitely have tissues ready for this one and set aside plenty of time to read, cuz you won’t want to put it down!
I’m blown away! Heartbreaking and yet heart mending As always an edge of your seat nail biter but oh the emotion and beauty of when love conquers all. Well done Ms Winters!
“Beau” is the next book In The Company of Sniper series. Irish Winters brought it again. Each book in the series is fantastic and I absolutely loved it. “Beau” just added to the series. From the very beginning, especially in the prologue, I was hooked. In the prologue this female is planting roses to hide a grave. Planting the roses was such a thrill for this woman that she was calling it orgasmic. Especially when she thought about Alexander Stewart, a man that is a few houses down from her. She said she would love him to pieces, literally. From the very beginning I was hooked. I could not wait to dig in some more. The woman who is obsessed with roses is Catalina Montego. Alex knows who she is and where from the information on a mission his fellow members where on. Its amazing the detail, the depth of this book. When Benjamin “Beau” Jennings is first introduced he was not at work, when Alex requested him. Mother told Alex about where Catalina was staying and that the police are there and there was a message for Alex. The message was with a finger. The message being you know what I want and you will get the rest of him. What was shocking was who the finger belonged too, Beau. The book just keeps getting interesting from there. Beau got away from the Catalina and escaped to Alex and Kelsey’s house. Kelsey immediately took action after Beau scared her. After speaking with Alex she called McKenna to help care for Beau’s injuries. McKenna is Dr. McKenna Fitzgerald who is a pediatrician who came to help Beau. Even though Beau was in extreme pain and trying to tell Alex what happened he could not help but to look at McKenna and find her attractive. He couldn’t stop looking into her eyes and seeing her freckled nose. The book just keeps getting better and better for you have action and romance all into one. I highly recommend this book.
I was given an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest review.
Beau (In the Company of Snipers Book 18) Irish Winters Alex Stewart thought his family was safe. He placed them is a secure community, behind a gate. He knew his neighbors, all of them. Or did he? Catalina Montego talked with his wife and daughter right as she dug in the soil next door to the Stewarts, right under Alex nose. Alex had lost family once, was it about to happen again? Kelsey Stewart, wife of Alex, just had this gut feeling that there was more to “Athena” and called Alex. While on the phone, Alex heard this “CRASH”! Benjamin “Beau” Jennings, former Army Ranger, the newest member of Alex’s TEAM, was about to get a fast indoctrination into what it meant to be a member of TEAM when he fell, wounded, bleeding, into the Stewart home. He had to warn Kelsey……. Dr. McKenna Fitzgerald is a Pediatrician, in fact Lexie Stewart is her patient. But when Kelsey calls telling her Its an emergency, I need you to make a house call, it’s not Lexie, she’s intrigued. When Beau and McKenna meet, under the most stressing circumstances, the attraction is instant, mind blowing, sexy. Each can only think about what if….. Now that you have met the main players and the stage is set, its time to open the book for yourself. Irish Winters writes books about romance with a raw side that makes it seem real. Alpha males meeting equally alpha females under extreme, extenuating circumstances. Yet love can not be denied or stopped once the flame ignites. I was given an ARC but the Review is mine and freely given.
Having read all of Irish Winters books, I was excited about this one and it did not disappoint. It's a nail-biter from the very beginning, Beau and Mckenna meet under harrowing circumstances and their attraction is almost immediate. And opposites do attract. Mckenna is a sweet and caring, but fairly naive, pediatrician. Beau is a former Ranger, dark and angry because of his past. As in all the books in this series, there is danger and suspense along with the romance. Ms Winters can create the most vile and evil villains and this book is no exception. It's up to Alex and the TEAM to figure out who is being targeted and why. Is it Alex himself, Beau, Mckenna or the entire TEAM? There are twists you won't be expecting.
The men and women of the TEAM, their spouses and children are one big family. They are there in support of each other. We see it especially as Maverick tries to reach out to Beau and his anger. We are reconnected with several of the TEAM family. Mother is one of my favorite characters in the series . Her part in this story is so very poignant as her friends come together for her.
Beau, In the Company of Snipers, Book 18 is a must read.
Another must read from Irish Winters! Beau Jennings, the newest member of the TEAM, is a belligerent, foul mouthed former Army Ranger who is sure he needs no one and that no one needs him. Another absolute winner by Irish Winters! Opened the book and stepped right in to the action packed, hot as hell, full of suspense story! All I can say is "WOW". My only complaint is that I started reading it after work one night and did not have any other days off to finish until this weekend! That was rough! This is one that once you start it you do not want to put it down. Irish is so amazing when it comes to getting down and dirty with her characters, you can see them and almost touch them they are so real. Beau certainly does not disappoint with his bluster and brashness to cover up a lost little boy. One look at McKenna and he was lost....but refused to believe that he was worthy. McKenna had a childhood from hell, only made bearable by her loving father. She was keeping away from guys but when she saw Beau, she felt tingles that she had not felt before (more like electric shocks!) If you have not read the other books in the In the Company of Snipers series, I recommend that you start at the beginning and keep going......you will not be sorry! Irish never disappoints!
Irish never fails to disappoint. But Beau..... BEYOND all expectations!
Beau is one hurt man who doesn't know the meaning of family. McKenna has her Dad, who is her ultimate Hero. These two were inevitably made for each other. BUT, in typical Irish fashion, it's not easy. In fact Beau may be one of her most convoluted books yet! Everyone on the TEAM all makes an appearance, pyscotic women make an appearance and one truly evil Beotch shows up, as well. Irish runs us through every emotion we've got in this in her pursuit to show that Family means everything!
Grab a drink and some tissues (yup, you're going to need them) and maybe a stressball, or two and ENJOY!!!!
Beau was a difficult story for me to dive into and stay interested in. I knew when I picked up the book that I was going to get something that was intense and would be dragged through all of the emotions. You definitely need to be ready and in the right mood for Beau. Once you start Beau, you will be dragged over the coals with him and McKenna. This story isn’t a sparkly romance where everything is in a nice little package. There are bad people and bad things. The book doesn’t put a stopper on the action and emotions to finish wrapping Beau up in a pretty bow. This is either the book you’ll love because it tears your emotions up or it’s just not for you. I loved it even with the difficult start.
Wow! Definitely one of my favorite books. Trying to summarize this story would require a complete rewrite. trying not to leave out an important detail needed later. Beau a hero that has trouble playing with others but always reliable on missions. McKenna a pediatrician called into action to treat Beau while the TEAM makes sure it is safe to move him. If you have read any of this series you are already in love with some of the characters. We see more of Mother than we had before. But everyone loves Mother that doesn't change. The love of the brotherhood and sisterhood shines through. Beau and McKenna 's love story will bring you to tears. But you keep pulling for them. Again my favorite book in this series. Wow
It's never the same story with an Irish Winters book. The backlash from the previous story has hit home as a dead suspect's family wants revenge. That's just what Beau and the other members of the TEAM are dealing with. McKenna, sweet pediatrician, has her own issues and struggles. The whole TEAM, the family, gets in on the action along with their wives. You don't need to read the other books because each book is independent and the author does a fabulous job of reminding us if necessary. Winters does wonders writing stories that give our tough heroes, each struggling with a range of issues, a family and ways to cope. I received an early copy and voluntarily wrote this review.
Beau is about a man that had a rough childhood and due to this he thinks he is worthless. He believes that is only good for one thing. Protecting others. He feels he is not worthy of love or friendship, and is very angry. This book is about how everyone is worthy. This book touched me beyond belief. It made me take a look at my life and the lives around me. Me Winters is an amazing story teller. It is amazing how much heart and soul she places in each and everyone of her books. This will definitely be a book that I will read again and again. This book was given to me by the author for an honest review.
Wow, this series gets better and better. This book was so emotional, but heart felt. It always had you guessing, and wondering what will happen next. It kept me on edge of seat, and wanting to read more. It made me realise even if you feel like you not worthy, others may think your worthy.
I loved Beau, he is hard headed, stubborn, but also has a soft side. He will do anything to protect others, and he don't like laying down.
I loved McKenna, she is sweet, sassy and bossy. She loves her job, and wants to make everything better for mothers out there. She has a big caring heart.
I can't wait for more, and highly recommend this series and book.
I don’t know how she does it but she gets me every time. Beau is definitely my newest favorite book by Irish Winters. Beau and McKenna are broken people who are struggling to become whole again, only they don’t know how to do it or how to let others into their lives. Catalina is just plain evil as are a few others who get their just deserts. Irish brings such depth to her characters that bring out strong emotions in the reader – some good, some sad, some mad and some happy. There are always a few twists and turns that I never see coming which keeps the story intriguing.
Irish winters has done it again. Another amazing story. This one is about Beau and McKenna. Beau is a man with anger issues due to a terrible childhood. McKenna is a sweetheart with a rough start. When a crazy murder targets the TEAM Beau gets caught and mutilated. McKenna is the first to treat his wounds and it's love at first sight they just don't know it yet. Push and shove turns to more. Over all a book to keep you seated and locked in.
Beau is kidnapped by a madwoman, but gets free, minus a finger. This is how he meets McKenna. She is a doctor. When he goes looking for the woman who attacked him, he ends up saving McKenna from a woman trying to kill her. The TEAM is busy trying to figure out where the pyscho woman is plus trying to figure out who the other woman is. This story kept me on the edge of my seat once I finally got into it. This series definitely keeps you on the edge until the very end!!!
Whoa! Just whoa! I was so on the edge reading this. I just wanted to get straight to the end, but I also didn't want to miss every tiny detail. Beau, another extremely beautiful written story. I just can't get enough of Irish Winters in the Company of Snipers books. Thank you so much. I have enjoyed reading books 1 - 18; and I'm so looking forward to starting on book 19.
Beau grabbed be from the very first sentence and I couldn't put him down until the end! Irish Winters has an amazing way of drawing you in and never letting go!! I say it all the time but this is my favorite book series, I love all the men and women in the Sniper series!!
This has to be one of my favorites in the series so fare. I so love how Irish just lets you feel all of emotions and feelings that her characters are going through! It makes you feel like you are right there with them. Thank you for writing such fantastic books and please keep them coming!
This was a tension filled story with almost too much horror for me to handle. All I could do was keep telling myself Alex and his TEAM would take care of business. God bless Beau and McKenna.
I've got only a few words to say oh my god I love Beau he makes you want to hug him I want to read this again and again when you read this book you fall in love with him
