Excellent lesson ideas. Though many of them are not new ideas, the lessons provide a great review when planning for next year. I ordered a kindle copy and the last page seemed to by in the wrong spot after Brian's lesson.. it was a repeat of the evaluation of the small books lesson. I wonder if I am missing a part of the book.

I love that this book takes on a very resourceful guide that allows for new or novice teachers to see what these master teachers have been through and what they find works well in their classrooms. I give this novel an A+ for layout, content, relevance to the modern day, and resourcefulness! As an aspiring teacher, I found this book to be very inspiring as well!

Maybe I've simply been at this game for too long (25+ years), and I found little that was new. I was both satisfied that I am already doing what the "masters" do, and I am a bit disappointed as my current professional development focuses on refocusing my practice towards student-led and feedback driven.

Although I did enjoy the shared lessons, some of them seem to overlap or repeat. On the bright side, they are very similar to what I use in my instruction. It makes me feel more confident about my writing instruction.
