I read this book for a book club, and it was not only uplifting, but inspiring for me. As a teacher in an urban, underfunded, and a high-poverty district, it reminded me of the same struggles we have each and everyday in the 21st century classroom. The reminders make the reader realize the importance of teaching, the impact of teaching, and the inner reward that is received as a gift for all teachers, which is why we teach. It has snippets of reminders of the gifts we receive from teaching in the most trying and difficult situations that are engaging us each and everyday. After reading this, I have a renewed love for the reasons I chose to teach. I recommend this quick read for those need a lift to continue to share the gift of teaching and to be reminded of the impact teachers make, no matter how minimal we think the impact is, because the impact is palpable in this book.

What a wonderful book to read whether you are a Master Teacher or a New Teacher! The teachable moments in this book are worth learning from! They will touch your heart and remind you of so many students you have met along the way. It also can inspire you to look forward to the adventures we endure during our teaching careers! Glavac touched my heart with this book and brought back such sweet and funny memories for me! I highly recommend this book for all educators!

I found this book to be very enlightening. It reminds me of some of the days my mother a retired educator would come home with tales of wonder. Now as an adult I meet people who have either relatives who taught under her. Marjan's book gave me goosebumps because I could understand where he was coming from. Thank you for reminding us how teachers inspire each of us.
