Team: A.L.P.H.A.:Six battle-hardened alphas with one goal—to save any omega in peril
Jonah McKiernan has a phobia of germs, dirt, and the government, so naturally his mate turned out to be an FBI agent who he found near death at the back of a shipping container under piles of filth.
Matthew Hutchins had been working undercover for years, until a fellow agent--and former friend--exposed him to cover up his own dirty dealings.
Matthew is determined to bring his betrayer to justice, and Team ALPHA finds out that maybe their loose ends aren’t completely tied up. But while Jonah wants to go full shifter justice on their remaining enemies, Matthew is a man of the law and will not budge.
But sometimes, you have to fight dirty to get clean, and both men’s core beliefs will be challenged as they approach the final showdown.
This is the sixth book in this exciting series, but can definitely be read as a stand-alone novel. You can expect to find naughty, knotty scenes of steamy passion, along with a lot of potty-mouth language and occasional violence. Be prepared for copious and inappropriate uses of sanitizer, the return of STAHP, and all your favorite characters. Trigger warnings: graphic violence and mention of human trafficking. HEA definitely included, intended for 18+ readers only. Seriously, would you expect anything less from Susi Hawke and Crista Crown?
I'm a total fan of M/PREG Paranormal Romances, first and foremost as a reader. I'm excited to share my own omegaverse(s) with you. What's not to love about adorable Omegas and the Alpha men who love them? If I'm not writing about men sporting baby bumps, I'm definitely reading about them!
I'm a native of Las Vegas, NV, so I'm pre-wired to love everything weird ~ although I don't find any kind of love to be weird. I'm a cis woman who's been happily married to the same lovable lug for 18 years. We have a 16yr old son, well, at least I think we do? Either that, or we have a ghost that eats all our food and uses up all wifi playing xbox while screaming into a headset.
As a new author, it's been amazing to find the amount of support that I've been given from readers and my fellow authors. Feel free to message me, I love to chat with fellow readers. Am I a reader? Heck yeah! In fact, I'm never certain that I can completely trust an author who isn't a fellow bibliophile.
I will try to update here when I'm doing promotional parties & chats. I usually do those on Facebook. If you haven't already signed up for my newsletter, you should totally do it! I only send out NL's to announce new releases or important announcements. I also like to note in my NL what I'm currently reading along with a cover shot and the link for anyone who is interested.
I really hate that this is the last of the series. For me it had it's ups(hot sex and great explosions) and downs (cheesy lines) but overall the series was well worth reading. I wonder will she do a series about S.T.A.P.H. ????
So happy to see the last member of Team A.L.P.H.A., Jonah, get his HEA. I hope the audio version of Decked is released soon. I can't start the Alphabits series until I've officially finished this series.
Colin Darcy has done such a wonderful job bringing these characters to life. I hope Susi Hawke continues to use him as a narrator for future stories.
This has been a great series, and it's been really nice watching all the boys of Team ALPHA find their mates, have their children, and get rid of the bad guys. This one wrapped everything up nicely. I still like Pax best though.
This book was great. I loved the connection between Jonah and Matthew. I loved it how Matthew never Judge Jonah for being the way he is, the tinfoil wearing germaphobe and wasn’t afraid to push back when they had completely conflicting views it just took them a moment to stand back and work out why they had such different thoughts on human justice vs shifter justice until Jonah explained that Team A.L.P.H.A let Preston’s dad get away the first time so what happens if that happens again and if they’d dealt with him the first time think at how many omegas they may have saved. Matthew realised that they both need to think before they fly off the handle as they could have a perfectly legitimate reason behind that. I loved how much Jonah was a massive marshmallow when it came to their fur baby kitten flowers and how he asked Boomer about which one of his sisters’ has the most experience looking after cats and asking if they could provide resumes. I found it awesome that Matthew knew the signs when Jonah’s brain was short circuiting with all his questions and different worries and got him to let him know his worries so he can try and explain them away so he can calm down. I still find it absolutely hilarious that Jonah’s mate was an FBI Agent considering he thinks that “the man” is after everyone and how much of a panic attack Jonah was having when Matthew said that him and Timothy can be added to his FBI insurance plan when they make it official and he nearly fainted just thinking about being listed in an FBI database. I think this book was a great way to the team finding their mates and wrapping up the human traffi*king case that pretty much started from book one with Preston’s dad. I’m looking forward to spending Christmas with Team A.L.P.H.A. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and both authors to everyone.
Hidden is book 6 in Team A.L.P.H.A. series and I guess it could be read/listened to as sort of a standalone if you're at least familiar with the series concept. I have listened to most of the Alphabits books, which is a spin-off series from this one, so I had an inkling of what I was getting into, still, I think it might have been a lot easier to get into the story if I'd known at least Jonah from before.
I found Jonah and Matthew to be very likable. While the whole 'mates' concept means that they'll have an instant attraction and connection between them, I loved that they both were willing to make things work by talking. They were complete opposites so that made it difficult to find common ground on certain issues, but they made the effort and I appreciated that.
The case was interesting, although, again, having a bit of backstory would have made it better, but that's my own fault. LOL
While I've enjoyed other books narrated by Colin Darcy, this one fell a bit off its mark for me. I didn't care for the voice he used for Jonah and some of the other Alphas, like Ezra. They kind of grated on my nerves and diminished my overall enjoyment of the audiobook. Plus, I felt like the narration wasn't as smooth as all the others I've heard by him, but that might just be me, so pick it up and try it yourself.
I absolutely adore these authors and love anything they they write because its impossible not to. I'm also so sad to see this series end but was happy with the way it did. Throughout the series Jonah was pretty much in the background because he is their computer guy. Not until the last few books does he venture into the field and we get to know him a little more. So now, this is Jonah's story. Jonah and his mate Matthew. I was not surprised at depth of feelings that Jonah has inside him. Even though he's an Alpha, he's not the mindless, hormonal, muscle -bound meathead that most are. His first reaction isn't to fight although he most definitely has it in him. Right away, Matthew nicknames him Shakespeare so that should tell you alot right there! All the Alphas on Team A.L.P.H.A. are good, caring men. Each one has his own strengths and weaknesses and that's what makes these characters so lovable. The writing is fresh and "real". You'll laugh one minute and cry the next. You'll get angry and frustrated right along with team. This would make a great mini-series.
I loved this one so much! I love that Matthew and Jonah are so well matched. Jonah is a super nerdy germaphobic techie and Matthew is a (sort of) laidback workaholic. I love that Matthew gets these big heart-eyes whenever Jonah starts to nerd out about things and that Jonah helps Matthew relax and take a step back when he’s getting too caught up in his work. They’re just so god damned cute together 🥰!
I think the only thing I didn’t like was how drawn out the plot with catching the bad guys was. I really just wanted more domestic fluff with Jonah and Matthew!(and the rest of the gang)! This book was so sweet and funny, I almost died from cuteness overload. This one gets a solid four out of five stars.😊
4.2 ⭐s Letter of the Law It was always going to be interesting and entertaining when Jonah found his mate. I just never imagined the circumstances would be so dire. To my great surprise Jonah scented his Omega mate and here I was all this time thinking Jonah himself was an Omega. I loved the addition of a cute fluffy pet.
Jonah didn't trust the "Man" / the "Government" and his mate turned out to be a Company man for the FBI. That put them at odds when it came to dealing with the bad guys - the truly evil guys.
What is the best way to have Justice served by gathering evidence to present in court or being a vigilante judge, jury, and executioner? Jonah confounded Matthew by not giving him what he demanded but instead giving him what Matthew didn't even realize he needed.
The weakest of the bunch, which is tragic because I'd been looking forward to wonderful Jonah's story. I liked both men just fine, but there's just So Much Monologuing!
The whole time, I was dying for some more instances of, "he looked around before continuing", "he scowled", "I paused", even just "she said". There were so many half page speeches (sorry, dialogues,) and one even went on for 3/4 page without a breath or a break.
There were other things I disliked (like getting pregnant by the first fuck again,) but the babbling was like having a pebble in one's shoe the whole way through.
Jonah and Mathew are great together, Jonah got the perfect man who understands his quirks and has no problem living with them. Matthew is normally a strong, independent man but right now he thinks he is a dead man. When he wakes up he is laying in a clean bed with an alpha wolf laying next to him.
As they work through there mating, and why Mathew was so injured. They work together with the rest of the A.L.P.H.A. team to bring justice. This story is sad in a way because it comes across as the end of the series.
This is the last one of this series, I have enjoyed each of them some more than others, but have definitely found them to be worth reading. It's Jonah's book after having finally got his brother back in the last book, he comes across his mate in a shopping container with other omegas, Matthew is an undercover agent who's been betrayed and can't believe it when his mate smells him under the rubbish he's been dumped in. This is a fitting end with the whole team happy safe and mated, well done on a fantastic series.
This book was great! Funny with so many feels and some gore!
Character breakdown;
Jonah: I loved him he was better than I thought he be but oh so sensitive poor thing! Glad he got his happy ending.
Matthew: mixed feelings with him mostly because I felt he was trying too much to change Jonah rather than accept him. And pushing his ideals rather than meeting him halfway. But I did somewhat complimented Jonah.
Loved this series and I hope to get a major epilogue to see how everyone is doing!!
A great addition to a wonderful series. I think it's great that Jonah's mate, Matthew, works for the government! I really like the connection between Jonah and Matthew and how they accept one another. They are on opposites end of the spectrum especially with how the case should be handled but it's great that they compromise. Great close to the series even though I hate to see it end. The narrator did a wonderful job with the story and the characters. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.
Another great add to the series. I love Jonah and Matt! I loved that even though Matt is a omega he was still a tough as nails FBI guy who was working a very dangerous case. We met when he is at his worst and you can't help but feel for him and want him to get his justice. Jonah is over protective and paranoid about the government so to see these two guys with very different view come together is interesting. With the last of the series ending now I can't wait to see what happens next with the spin off; this Universe is far from over and with each new set of characters I love it more.
Undercover FBI agent Matthew's cover was blown and he ends up being rescued by his mate, who happens to be everyone's favorite A.L.P.H.A. Team nerd Jonah. They just have a few lose ends to tie up concerning this nasty cartel business.
Matthew is a really sweet well rounded character. He is happy to have found his mate, even if there are a few bumps in the road in store for them. I felt like we got to know Jonah a lot better here. In the other books he just seemed a little on the fringes of the family unit, but with Matthew he finds his place.
The team's cases have all been leading up to this story. Every bad guy they have taken down has turned out to be connected to the worst cartel around. Even after destroying the cartel, there still remain a corrupt FBI agent and a greedy ex-senator. Taking down those final pieces leaves the team with time to finally turn attention to home. I don't usually comment on book covers, but this features the hottest guy in the series. Does Channing Tatum have a brother?
Through out the series I assumed Jonah was an omega because he was quite and paranoid computer nerd. We see a little bit of his tough protective side when he finally finds his brother but when me meets his mate, a FEEB of all people we get t see a more dominate playful side of Jo Jo. I love Mathew, he is the perfect mate for Jonah. He is a relaxed by the rules guy who loves his nerdy man.
I enjoyed this book and it was probably my favorite of the series! Jonah is one anxiety away from wearing a tinfoil hat. Despite all of his neuroses, he’s the perfect match for FBI agent Matthew. Similar to several of the other couples in the series, their relationship isn’t typical alpha-omega, in fact for some reason in earlier books I had thought Jonah was an omega, but it works for them
Wasn't a huge Matthew fan. I did like Jonah however. I thought that their story was sweet, regardless of not liking Matthew that much. As far as the conflict with the bad guys in this book, it was sort of a throwaway and the last part of the book felt like a giant conclusion and summary for the series. This one wasn't my favorite by I was happy to see Jonah get his HEA.
I know there are a couple more series' with this series but I'm sad this series is over - I know there is one more but that is an update book - who's KS awesome!!!! This whole series is full of page turning action lots of love & sex and also laughs & sarcasm!!! You can't help but cheer everyone one & want to hug & cuddle with every couple!!! Thank you Lori
Such a sweet conclusion to a very fun series! I loved how Jonah has been so distrustful of the government and law enforcement in general, and ended up being mated to someone so completely dedicated to upholding the law, and the FBI. It was great to see the team all together, with their mates and families.
So glad Jonah got his happy ever after! Jonah's germaphobia was crazy! Sanitize wiping the cat!! Matthew went threw hell because of a betrayal, glad the betrayer got what he deserved. The STAHP team was back and still as awesome as before, hopefully they get their stories told!!
I've done a disservice to this series by reading Hidden b/f the others. I liked the recap refresher course of the other characters. Jonah and his germaphobic traits were fun to read but I really liked Matt's roll with the punches philosophy. Now to go back and start at the beginning.
I loved this book. Aside from the mating and romance, we got the satisfaction of seeing the last strands of the drugs and human trafficking cartel tore down. It was really interesting seeing how Jonah and Matthew, who are not on opposites sides of the law, but definitely have a completely opposite approach to make bad guys pay, reconcile their differences.
