I really enjoyed this second book in The Bluegrass Files series. When doing reviews I don't go into what the plot is because this is a review ... not a book report. Just let me say, be ready for some unexpected twists and turns. This one - like the first book "Down the Rabbit Hole" - ends in an unexpected way. The only thing I regret is that I kept putting off reading it. I really need to get the next one "The Bourbon Brotherhood" and start it soon. I also need to make a trip to Lexington and check out Magee's and Papi's, as suggested by the author in the Author's Note at the end.
Set in beautiful Lexington, KY with side trips to Louisville and other small towns in the middle of horse country, the two ladies of Bluegrass Confidential Investigations track a missing woman for her family. Along the way they enter the craziness of horse racing that leads to the week long celebration of the longest two minutes in sports—the KY Derby. Enjoyable mystery with some romance and friendships explored.
