(Spoiler for the faint hearted at the bottom of the blurb. Please read all the way through.)

Before world war two could reach its conclusion, the world suffered what could only be defined as a cataclysm.

Legend has it that an experiment failed. Catastrophically so. And when it failed, the center of the United States, from the Sierra Nevada to the Mississippi river became "The Waste", where everything changed.

In The Waste, every fantasy creature, fairy tale demon, or mythological monster exists. From Orcs, to Neriads, Ogres, Trolls, Wratihs, Elves, Harpies, and even Beastmen. They all exist, and all despise humankind.

In the ruins of the west and east coasts new governments have arisen. With new jobs.

Vince is a Ranger, a profession whose sole job duty is surviving in the waste, and taking missions from the Ranger Guild. Be it courier services, escorts, or simply exploring tombs and cities.

Taking up an escort mission, Vince encounters a situation that will shape his life forever onward.

As well as the lives of everyone in North America.

Warning: This novel contains adult themes and moral ambiguities. The main character is written as a real person in an apocalypse, and will not make choices that line up with society and cultural norms.

This story contains a harem and is an Adult Fantasy novel.

This is the Omnibus edition of the 1st Wild Wastes Trilogy. It contains all three books of the first trilogy. Only the description of the first book has been included to prevent spoilers from occurring.

So yeah, I bought the Omnibus sue me! Nothing changed there are some editing bloopers and repetition but nothing life threatening. I really liked the bonus epilogue with the POV of Taylor.

This was a re-read, and I don't know if it's just me or there were some revisions from the originals I read, but this seemed to be better this time around. There are so many moving parts in the "Runnerverse" that I find myself re-reading these stories to keep things straight, but I wouldn't do that if they weren't good.

I still don't know how Vince survived, but I can suspend a certain amount of disbelief for fantasy stories so I don't let that bother me too much. I find myself skipping a lot of the sex scenes, as they do carry on, but again that's easy enough to do and it's a feature of this nom-de-plume's work so be warned if that sort of thing bends you out of shape.

At times I wonder if the author has a plan to bring this all together, but it seems that things are moving in that direction and this is an important entry in the overall scheme. If you liked Super Sales and/or any of the other books you should read this.

Amazing

I love every thing about this book. Not sure where to begin it was so good. Unless you don't like sex in your slave harem fantasy books, this one is for you.

Great story and lots of fun.

Look it a great story and lots of fun. I like how it dovetails with his other series esp.
I rated it lower for one simple reason. It made sex boring. Sex in a good story is like a spice a little goes a long way, too much and you ruin what should be a payoff at the end of something. Sub story, arc, ext. Not the end or beginning of nearly every chapter. The story was great though. Loved the shoutouts even the one to Xanth. "Chet" the centaur. Texas orcs, there is a story right there.

FanFiction without the fan

First book has a solid idea but it gets convoluted from book 2. Could have been given several books with deeper plots. Writer needs beta reader with rewrites and a co-writer.

A great fantasy/harem series

Make sure you’ve read The Otherlife series before picking this one, and also read its sister series Supersale on Superheroes at the same time, alternating between the two, to get the full experience.

The Omnibus epilogue, like all the author’s omnibus epilogues, adds a lot to the story.

Fantastic ride

Vince is a grey hero, cares about his people but has no morality or mercy for his enemies. It’s a fascinating ride watching these character pull together and grow. The engaging storyline will keep you turning the pages.

I've read this book more than once. It's on my favorite book list. Randi writes a believable other world book full of action and develops his characters well.

Excellent series!

The omnibus was excellent! Vince built a community out of slaves and cast offs, beastkin, men women fey and more. Binding them together into community that grew into a kingdom. The story has fast paced action, adventure and quite a bit of spice. Overall an excellent tale. Do yourself a favor and read this book!
