Good books with practical tips

Through this book, I understand some factors that may cause my lack of deep sleep. Dr. Nerina also provides us with a lot of practical and natural tips for our sleep problems in various situations. There are some tips that I need to modify because it will be more relatable with me, for example I replace rooting practice with imagining myself prostating (sujood) in a big mosque. However, it will not occur to me to imagine that if I haven't read this book yet. In brief, I like this book. I even highlighted almost all lines in this book. 😂 Thank you Dr. Nerina.

When searching for more and better sleep, anything can help. Mostly, in addition to the ten steps, the book centers on the basics of leading a calm, meditative and yoga-type approach to sleep. Life is stressful, fast paced and it’s hard to slow down and remove yourself from life’s complications.

But, this is a positive attempt to try to solve the old “I can’t sleep” problem.

One thing not mentioned in this little book, is reading a book as a nighttime ritual or practice. Not a difficult or intense text, but one that is pleasant to read. It’s one way to end a busy day. You could even read “The Little Book of Sleep!”

I liked this book a lot.

Although I don't connect to everything in it, some of the tips there were useful for me. One that comes to mind is Letting Go.

When I'm having trouble sleeping, I sometimes tend to view it as a project and try 20 different things to help me sleep. This in turn complicates things and pushes sleep further away. So I'm trying to just let go. I'm sure you'll find some tip or piece of information that will help you in your journey for better sleep.

This book is filled with kindness and compassion, and you can finish it in an afternoon. Very cute, short book with pretty illustrations. Very accessible wisdom and some good entry mindfulness practices here for those who are not well versed in mindfulness practices. It might be a bit "hippy dippy" for some who are a little close minded, but when you're struggling with sleep I think anything is on the table to try.

I have a plan and that is to buy all of these “The Little Book of...” series.

This was a very much needed book for me because these past few years I’ve suffered from insomnia and I wanted to read a book about it or try and get some tips, this book will help me a lot. Looking forward to try out the 10 Steps to Great Sleep!

The thing is, a lot of what’s written is something that I've known before, so it's not a source of knowledge for me. Not for someone who seeks a more intermediate dive into their sleep journey.

What I love: is a lot of meditation practices are explained in a somewhat straightforward method. It's easy to follow for someone new to any sort of meditation.

The perfect little introduction to figuring out sleep habits. This should set you on a path to deeper knowledge, if you need it, but this book delivers what it promises; with useful information and practices for those starting to figure it out.

Don't judge, need to make up for some turtle pace during Spring and get this yearly goal chipped away at. Good read though - read on Sunday in a Vinings coffee shop. Proceeded to get some pretty bleh sleep last night, maybe the learning curve is delayed a bit.

Helpful

I am on a general wellness journey--more quality sleep, better eating habits and less phone time. This book was super helpful. I will be applying some of the tips in this book to my life.

The book is a short read with practical tips for having a high quality sleep. It provides a good summary of sleeping tips that you find in other books. In addition it gives perspectives from Ayurvedic practices for having a “sattvic” deep sleep.

My therapist gave me this book to read after hearing about my problems sleeping sometimes. It was good, however some of the really technical stuff was really difficult to understand and read, I didn’t quite understand it sometimes. It was hard to read at times. Some of the advice was helpful though.

Surprisingly helpful. Especially the audio book version.

TW though for some comments about weight and "healthy" eating and portion size.

But other than that a useful quick guide for those wanting to know more about their sleep.

I was disappointed with this read tbh. Some of the information was useful but alot of the information and tips mentioned in this book are things that are well known.
