As a premier stuntwoman in Hollywood, Zahara Parrish is no stranger to risk. Neglected as a child, she learned early on never to depend on others to keep her safe. Now, she’s as protective over her heart as she is over her hard earned success, which is why she’ll never mix business and pleasure. But Chase Layton missed that memo. The up-and-coming actor has his sights set on Zahara, and he’s just real enough to rock her world—in the most unexpected ways.

Chase Layton’s rise to fame hasn’t been easy. His rock solid family may keep him grounded, but nothing about his all-American-apple-pie life prepared him for the treacherous, winding paths to the top of Tinsel Town. When he meets Zahara, he instantly knows she’s his people and one passionate night quickly deepens into more. Despite Zahara’s attempts to deny the strength of their connection, despite the studio’s ban on relationships between coworkers, Chase won’t give up. He didn’t get this far by letting amazing opportunities slip away.

When Chase’s decisions threaten to tear them apart, Zahara must decide if love is worth the risk or if this is just another heartache in her journey. Because this time, hers isn’t the only heart on the line.

3.5 - "The rules have changed." Stars.

The eighth book in Skye Jordan’s Renegades Series, gives us stunt-woman Zahara Parrish’s story. And falling for your leading man it turns out is not all smooth sailing, even with a safety harness firmly attached!

She and Chase had clicked from the start… in so many ways.

As you would expect, being a woman working in a male dominated environment Zahara, takes her job, and her reputation extremely seriously, falling for, or being seen to have any connection with the leading man in the current movie she is working on brings about all-sorts of problems for her in that regard. Because although she cannot deny their attraction to each other, giving in to it could do more than just compromise her professional integrity if word got out.

"Being together and working together don’t have to be mutually exclusive…"

But Chase isn’t a man to give up something that he sets his sights on, and his all-out charm offensive, and smoking hot looks eventually wear Zahara down, but what she thought was going to be one night of scratching-an-itch, turns into something much more… or so she thought.

"What do you like..? I’ll do anything… any fantasy."

But Hollywood as you would expect is well known for its subterfuge, on-again-off-again relationships and general high level drama, and Chase finds himself in the thick of it with one of his former co-stars, something which quickly pushes Zahara to re-evaluate everything she thought she knew about him, and their growing relationship.

"I’m not giving up…"

Well written, albeit a tad predictable in the second half, I did not struggle to read Rapture at all. I think the fact that I liked both the leads immensely helped, and it was good to get updates on the rest of the Renegades crew as the story played out between Chase and Zahara as well. All in all, a really enjoyable addition to the series.

Even though readers aren’t privy to all of the ins and outs of Chase Layton and Zahara Parrish’s burgeoning friendship due to their interactions on set for the past few months, Skye Jordan makes it more than clear that these two have a solid foundation - one that both seem to want to explore further, even if Zahara’s hang ups with not allowing anyone close and never mixing business with pleasure pose quite the roadblock for these two who just ‘clicked’ from the start. And it’s because of that deep connection and the fact that Chase is one persistent guy when he sees something or someone he not only wants but needs that Zahara just might have to let down some of her walls and not worry about the consequences of giving into her feelings for Chase.

I really enjoyed getting to know Chase; he may be an insatiable flirt, but he’s damn good at his job and he gives all of himself in all facets of his life. What I found most interesting was how he dealt with the complications that entered his life; even though it could have spelled disaster for him in a number of ways, he does what he can to work through those things while still having some semblance of control over his life and his desire for Zahara. Careers are most definitely on the line due to some ill-advised actions and learned information but that doesn’t stop Chase from being the man he’s always been and giving his full attention to the woman who owns his heart, even if she has a more difficult time giving into her feelings for him.

While Chase is the hero of the story and is steadfast in his quest for Zahara’s love, Rapture is definitely more about Zahara and the fact that she’s a woman in a man’s world and what that means not only for her career but also for her as a person. Zahara is one heck of an independent woman, and the way that she approaches her career is admirable, but the way she views her personal relationships or lack thereof was a bit problematic. She clearly developed strong feelings for Chase but still remained standoffish because of her fears and past experiences, and while her hesitancy and overthinking is understandable, I did feel like it made her too close-minded, at times, as well as unwilling to allow herself to truly FEEL how much she liked Chase and all of the passion and caring he brought to her life.

I love the Renegade family and the insights readers get into the lives of previous couples in Chase and Zahara’s story allowed me to reminisce about the relationships of the series’ past heroes and heroines, of how they came to be, and of where their love took them, and I loved getting caught up with what was happening in their lives.

Skye Jordan crafts a sexy, adventurous, and complex story line for Chase and Zahara, which allows readers to see who these two characters are and what they’re willing to do, to give up, to endure to give themselves a shot at something lasting, instead of being just another Hollywood couple that burns too quick and burns out even quicker.

4.5*

Good lord I don’t think I’ve ever felt such anxiety reading one of the Renegades books as I did with Rapture. The only one that may have come close was Troy’s story, Relentless. But my God, my heart and my stomach were in turmoil throughout much of the book. As fun and flirty as the beginning of the book was I didn’t expect the angst that was to come. I loved this book, but boy did it ever frustrate me.

I fell hard for Chase, right from the beginning. Mylanta, was this man swoony. He’s everything you could want in a man- sweet, so flipping sweet, caring, charming, persistent, endearing...really just everything.
I loved how determined he was to win Zahara over.
Zahara is who I want to be when I grow up, although I’m old enough to be her mother. I love her strength and her resolve. She’s one tough cookie with a vulnerable side she doesn’t let many see.
I loved the banter and back and forth between Chase and Zahara. The sexual chemistry between them was off the charts hot! I was so feeling these 2, and loving what seemed to be the start of something pretty awesome.

Then things took a turn that kind of surprised me. I know there usually has to be some kind of conflict to move the story along, to get our hearts racing and blood pumping, but this was unexpected enough that it threw me for a loop. It sadly dampened my enthusiasm just a bit, hence the 4.5* instead of 5*. This is a very personal feeling and I’m sure many of you won’t have any problems with what went down, but for me it just kind of took me out of the story for a bit.

Although there was that blip in the road for me, I really did enjoy this story. Chase and Zahara are a terrific pair- they do a wonderful job of balancing each other out. And balance was something that was missing in Zahara's life, until Chase appeared and challenged everything she thought she wanted
.
I love the Renegades and it’s always a treat when we get to revisit the gang! I’m not sure if this is the last we’ll see of them, or if Ms. Jordan has plans to continue on with this series, but I will be here if she does!

I LOVE these Renegades!

Holy smokes, you will get SCORCHED early on in this book. It was quite a pleasant surprise, and a very well-placed interaction between Z and Chase. It illustrated a deep connection between the two, and I really liked that they were friends first and above all else. Although, the way of the romance novel, that good feeling was thwarted by one nasty villain who I loved to hate!

Zahara was awesome in that she was a no-nonsense, kick-butt stuntwoman who knew her job and did it well. I did, however, get a little frustrated with her "I will never rely on others or show my true feelings" side the emerged later on. This could be because I'm a jaded book blogger, or I'm psychoanalyzing a fictional character, but I was really hoping her strength in her job would equate to strength in her character/personality, but at times, in my opinion, she came out sounding and acting petulant. Though she certainly changed her tune eventually,

I LOVED Chase. Even when Z was having her frustrating "I don't need anyone's help at all ever" moments, he was relentless in his quest to be with her.

No doubt, Z was faced with a very difficult situation, and Skye did an amazing job of describing the emotions involved. Though I, thankfully, was never in that exact situation (though a similar one..you'll understand once you read the book!), I felt many of the emotions were spot-on.

Still a huge Skye fan, and I can't wait for the next book in whichever series of hers she publishes one! (Her romantic suspense books are FANTASTIC too!)

(I received a copy of this book in consideration of my honest thoughts)

Actor and stunt woman story.

Chase is up and coming actor while Z is an uptight stunt woman.

Both live in Hollywood world and they know how Hollywood relationship works.

But something long-lasting will keep them together.

So the actor couldn't just pretend act anymore, and the stunt woman stumbled into the relationship.

Is this the beginning of the end for the Renegades? Will Zahara ever find her happy ending? Can love really conquer all? Rapture is the magic of what love can do. It's power can turn strangers into one big happy family. It shines a light on what it means to hope and pushes us to facing our fears. After all without risk there is no reward. With Chase and Zahara, Skye Jordan shows how a leap of faith can help mend a broken heart. Love is a master of disguise. It's not always kind. It's messy, heartbreaking, irresistible, irrational and inspiring. There is no limit to the adjectives that describe love, but if you get it right it's worth it in the end. Jordan got it right. Rapture is so worth it.

5 I'm in Renegades Heaven Stars!!

I have loved the Renegades since the Reckless was released and to have as much emotion with this eighth book that I had with the first book speaks volumes about the talent of Ms. Jordan! This book centers around Zahara and Chase and it was everything I wanted it to be.

What I really loved so much about this book is that really focuses on Z as the main character and stuntwoman in this story. Don't get me wrong, Chase is an actor that has the eye of Hollywood, but this book really brings to light that women can do anything they want to do. And what Z wants is to be at the top of her game in the industry she loves and she absolutely doesn't want to fall in love....yeah, Chase has other ideas about that.

These two have a chemistry that is reminiscent of Jax and Lexi which I think makes me love them so much. Their back and forth, and I'd call it sassiness had me laughing on a few occasions. I mean this woman doesn't really mince words. Which can lead to some problems but that doesn't mean Z is going to lose a major opportunity.

Watching the evolution of their relationship had me glued to my kindle. I mean I literally couldn't put the book down I was so invested in them getting their HEA. And it's not an easy journey. Along the way, there's a few surprises that had me wanting to slap some people upside their heads and the bonus is that we get to catch up with some of my favorite Renegades. This family that has been cobbled together because of their mutual love for the industry and their team is as fabulous today as it was in the very beginning.

Thank you to Ms. Jordan for giving us another fabulous Renegade read and I just know we haven't seen the last of this crew!!!

Oh how I can't get enough of Skye Jordan's Renegades! Rapture, the eight book in the series is captivating, steamy, raw, and romantic. When I read a series with so many fabulous characters, I often wonder if Jordan can write another story that will be as good as better as the others. I shouldn't doubt her. Zahara, the first stunt woman that has been featured in the Renegades series and I loved it!

Zahara and Chase, the main characters of Rapture are explosive from the beginning and the story works so very well for them. Their conflict is not so unlike others but it is a raw and real. Jordan has an incredible way of putting the reader into the story and feeling all the same emotions as the characters. From the beginning during the hot, passionate, incredible love scene to the anger and disappointment when Chase wasn't quite living up to his words. I love feeling the gamut of emotions while read Jordan's stories.

I have enjoyed the stunt world that has been the Renegades series. Just like in the intimate scenes, Jordan does a fantastic job of showing us what is going on in the stunt scenes. From the exhilarating jumps over cliffs, to the painful landings of some stunts. It is an exciting and action filled part of the story! I loved every minute of Rapture!

If you are looking for a very sexy story with a long, detailed intimate scene along with fantastic story and well developed characters, give Rapture a read. Each of the books in this series stands alone, so while reading the others is a must for entertainment purposes, you can still start with Rapture. You will love it!

I love the Renegades series so much and Rapture just embodies everything I have come to love about it! This is a great story that roped me in from page one.
Zahara is such a cool, bad a$$ heroine! I mean come on, she’s a stunt woman! More than that though she is just an amazing person and such an awesome member of the Renegades family. They are such an awesome bunch of people who care about each other like family. Zahara has been hyper focused on her career and hasn’t really let anyone oast her walls as far as relationships go. Until Chase. Chase is a gorgeous, sexy actor that has been doing his own stunts in the film Zahara has been working on. There is serious chemistry between them but Zahara is afraid to take the next step with him, and she is pretty much not afraid of anything. Chase isn’t sure if he could handle it if she rejects him because he is more than halfway in love with her just from working with her and developing that relationship/ friendship, but he wants so much more. When they finally do take that leap into ecstasy, it is hotter than anything Zahara has ever experienced. But complications arise that make this relationship anything but easy despite the feelings they clearly have for each other. Careers are on the line and the future is uncertain. Can they see that it would be so worth it to work through it all and find their happily ever after?
And OMG I just love the epilogue!!!

Another great Renegades story. Zahara is a stunt woman for the movie Chase is starring in. He is an up and coming actor. He is attracted to Zahara, but she does not date or anything with actors. She needs to be low key to keep her job, where actors love publicity and all the attention. When the shooting of the movie ends, Zahara finally gives in and the two have a wonderful weekend. The next day Zahara leaves for another shoot she is working on. She can’t wait to see Chase again, but when she does see him, he is with his ex acting like they are back together. This crushed Zahara. She has a hard time trusting anyone because of her past, and no one has ever put her first in their life.

I loved how Chase was so down to earth and had such a good heart, even though he was a little naive just starting in the business. So many times when you try to do something good, it comes back to bite you in the butt. This is exactly what happened to Chase. The circumstances made it hard to get close to Zahara again. Zahara knew she shouldn’t have trusted a man. I couldn’t stand Chase’s ex and couldn’t understand how he ever hooked up with her. This is one of those books you don’t want to put down until you finish. I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.

First, I love the Renegade’s series with it’s foundation in the stunt world of Hollywood. This unique family has captivated me from book one and keeps me coming back for more. Zahara, she is a tough, independent, driven woman that doesn’t let a man tell her what she can or can’t do. She avoids relationships so her connection to Chase, the star of one of the films she works on, truly surprises her. Chase is not your typical actor, he has a great sense of family and loyalty which is sometimes his downfall but he uses it to his advantage to lure Zahara in but then, well, it blows up in his face. I loved getting to know why Zahara works so hard to prove herself and maker her way in life. When Chase betrays her trust, well, it just confirms everything she learned as a child. Then she gets the surprise of her life. Can these two navigate all the Hollywood craziness and find love? Another fun, sexy, unexpected romance for one of the amazing Renegades crew. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Zahara is a stunt woman working for the Renegades. She is smart and loves what she does. Hidden inside tho is a scared girl who is afraid to love. She is drawn to Chase Layton, the up and coming big star, but her career is to important to her. She doesn't want to get involved with him. But when she can no longer say no, she decides to give them a chance. They are so cute together. I love the way they talk and tease each other. Things seem great until she returns from he newest assignment. When she sees him again he is hanging all over his ex. And Zahara decides then and there they are over. When tries to tell her why and what for she just does't want to know. But Chase isn't giving up.
It kinda broke my heart that Chase was putting someone else's issues before hers. I wanted to bang his head in a few times. He is a fixer and I wanted to tell him fix your situation first. My only complain of the whole book was the ending felt a little rushed and I wanted Chase to grovel a little more. She gave in way to easy for me. 3.5 stars

Another great instalment in the Renegades series this one spotlighting Zahara, the stunt woman on the team and an up and coming actor Chase. The two become fast friends which turns into best friends and finally into lovers. Zahara is hesitant, she doesn’t sleep with co-workers not wanting to tarnish her reputation but Chase knocks down her walls and she takes a leap of faith. Only to have it turn to ash when Chase makes decisions without thinking of Zahara and what she would want....will it tear them apart for good?
A great read with steam and I loved how independent and strong Zahara was and I was 100% behind her in everything she thought and how she felt. Chase had an amazing heart and was grounded which I loved and loved reading all the ways he tries to make it up to Zahara.
The story flowed beautifully, there was a bit of humour, some heartbreak, the characters were amazing and the book was hard to put down.

This series was one of the first that I read when I purchased my first Kindle and I've been in love with Skye's writing ever since and couldn't be happier that she revisited the Renegade family again! Oh, how I want to be part of that family of hot heroes and strong, brave, kick-ass women! I loved seeing/reading about the other characters that make this series so very enjoyable. I wondered who would be able to keep Zahara on her toes and Skye did an excellent job of matching her with Chase--perfect partner! As always, there's angst (just the right amount!), intrigue, interesting secondary characters, emotions and "feels" and lots and lots of steam. I couldn't be happier that we have another Renegade book to add to our collection! I only hope that this isn't the last one! Always a solid 5-star read!

I have adored the Renegades series since the beginning. I have missed the last few books, but was super excited to get to read Zahara & Chase and get back to these amazing stuntmen!

I loved Zahara and how strong she was! How cool is it for a woman to be a stuntwoman?!? She was able to stand on her own and didn't need a man.

"The man fed her soul the way food fed her body."

But Chase was able to break down her walls, which is just what they both needed. I adored how Chase was with Zahara!

"She'd never had a man stand by her this way, and realized in that moment, she never believed she ever would."

This story was full of action, adventure, steam, and was oh so sexy! I loved seeing so many of the original Renegades and can't wait for more from this series. It keeps me on the edge of my seat but has lots of heat too! The perfect combo! (4 stars)

Awesome story! This is the 8th book in the Renegades series and it did not disappoint. It was a little slow to get started but then BAM I could not put it down. There was so much chemistry between Chase and Zahara that I am surprised the pages did not catch on fire. They were friends, the best of friends since Zahara had rules. The main one? No dating co-workers, the authors on set with her. Once filming wraps thought, Chase decides she is fair game and he goes after what he wants. Oh there are a couple of ummmm... twist... involved. No spoilers, but I went oh crap! I loved the play between the feisty Z and stubborn Chase, and the journey to their HEA.

Smokin’ hot. That about nails this book. Chase and Zahara are working together on a movie set and they have much heat between them. You’d think two single adults would just ease into a relationship but not these two! They both have doozies of pasts and presents to make a great book. No spoilers but Chase is persistent and keeps chipping away at Zahara… It’s both charming and loving and silly-boyish. It takes Zahara a while to get on board but first she needs to come to terms with her own past and inner feelings before she can enjoy this ride. I loved the ending because it’s great to read a “start” for Chase and Zahara but there’s also a touching scene about Zahara’s friends and co-workers. Great read!

Rapture follows stuntwoman Zahara. She had always been neglected as a child and never able to rely on any of her 5 stepdads. On her last action film she builds a special connection with up and coming star Chase. However, Zahara is reluctant to get involved with an actor and the drama that goes with it and the damage that could do to her career. She is determined to never rely on a man. Chase works had to break down Zahara’s walls only to hurt her when he goes along with a fake tabloid story to help out his act- exactly the type of drama Zahara wanted to avoid, and to make things worse Chase has just landed the leading role in a series of films Zahara is working on. Another in the Renegades series and as enjoyable as the others.

I really enjoy Skye Jordan's books, but the Renegades series is my least favorite of hers. I'm just not into the Hollywood stories in general. I was pretty disappointed with this one. It was full of cliches, like the two main characters having a misunderstanding and one not letting the other explain. This often happens towards the end of a book, as the "conflict," but in Rapture, it happens right after Zahara and Chase get together, and made me want to stop reading. When the real conflict comes, it's one that has happened in several of the books I've read lately, so I guess I was just tired of reading about that particular conflict.

I've really enjoyed Skye's recent series, about the Manhunters, so I'll just look forward to reading the next one of those.

So happy

I am so happy to have a new installment of the Renegades series. The life of a female stuntman is a great insight into the world. The chemistry is so good between our main couple and her fears on how she will look to the industry of she gets involved with a star is so relevant to today. Now don't go thinking this is a politicAl book, it's not. It's great romance with real like people and how they each handle their feelings within the Hollywood world. We also get to see and hear from past characters that we love and miss. However, don't worry if you haven't read the other books, you will still love this story and not be lost but having read the other books will enhance the story. This is another winner by this author. I highly recommend all her books.

I love the Renegades. This book was captivating from page one. Zahara and Chase were a couple that at one point you want to slap and then next you are rooting for them to figure it out and have their HEA. Chase was such a true friend that he could not tell that his "friend" Lila was using him and doing everything she could to destroy his fragile relationship with Zahara. When you have relied on yourself for so long it is hard to open up and trust someone who ties your heart and gut into knots. This is a great read, it had action, angst, drama, and chemistry. I love getting a glimpse into the other Renegades couples.

Working together for the past two months on a movie set, Chase and Zahara have become really good friends, good friends with enough chemistry to turn a movie into a blockbuster.
But as a stunt double, Zahara knows getting involved with Hollywood’s newest golden child is like committing professional suicide.
What will Zahara do when Chase refuses to give up on their connection so easily.
I loved Zahara and Chase, Zahara as the strong yet vulnerable heroine and Chase as the swoon worthy hero with a soft tide, and when they come together sparks fly. I also enjoyed catching up with the characters from the previous books. Can’t wait to read more of the renegades.

Reviewed on my blog, Becky on Books, on 9/27/18.

Zahara was an amazing character--a female stuntperson!--and I warmed to her right away. She and Chase (an up-and-coming actor) threw off plenty of sparks every time they were on the page; I can just imagine how that would have transferred on the big screen (if Z ever got to be on the big screen as herself, that is--sadly, she didn't). The stunts that the two of them carried out in the book were pretty intense, seconded only by their (ahem!) other scenes...

I liked Chase as well, though he had an annoying tendency to make dubious decisions that negatively affected people who weren't him...without thinking ahead of time that such outcomes were a possibility. In a fairly conflict-free book, though, I guess the conflict has to come from somewhere, right? Still, everything came out well in the end, and the actual end of the book was pretty squee-worthy, so...

This was only my second book from the series (after Riptide ) so I'm not quite as familiar as other readers undoubtedly are with the other series characters. It wasn't a huge problem, though. The focus is really on Zahara and Chase, so even new readers to the series shouldn't have any problem following along and enjoying all of the accompanying drama.

Rating: 4 stars / B+

Never saw this coming 😍🔥

Sky did not disappoint, this truly is an epic book, a breath of fresh air from the paranormal I read. The whole Renegade series is the 💣.
One problem Skye forgot to use a blond actor for the cover 😂.
The storyline and mostly the plot was not expected, a stuntwoman being pregnant and fired at the same time, while she’s darn good at the craft. But hey it’s the authors right and the plot worked out well. But I really wanted more! I hope to see a new book with Jax and Lexi soon.
My love for the Renegade series is what keeps from reading from Skye every time after many years.

Rapture was a fast read for me because I was captivated by Chase and Zahara's story at page one and didn't want to put it down! These two are so perfect for each other, but life and Zahara's insecurities keep getting in the way. Chase is such an awesome and loyal guy and is head over heels for Zahara. Zahara is tough and independent, but is afraid to commit. An unexpected surprise and a meddling ex cause lots of drama and heartbreak for these two, but they eventually get their HEA. Loved the ending and this couple with sizzling chemistry and great banter.

This author is one of my favourites, and I just love this series.
This book is about Renegade stunt woman, Zahara, and movie actor, Chase. From the word go, the chemistry between these two had you wanting them to go the distance, and their easy friendship and bantering had you smiling.
It was great catching up a little with the other Renegades, too.
Once I started reading, I just didn't want to put it down. It got me out of a book funk where I had struggled to be interested in reading anything.

Rapture is book number eight in the Renegades series by Skye Jordan but can be read as a standalone. This story is Zahara Parrish and Chase Layton’s story.

I really enjoyed Zahara and Chase’s characters. This was a fun, emotional, and heartwarming read with intense chemistry. Even with all the chemistry between them getting their happily ever was a bumpy road due to hangups, miscommunication, and interference from others.

FYI, contains mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I loved Rapture - the 8th book in the Renegades series. It's a quick, fast-paced read, I blew through it pretty much in one sitting - didn't want to put it down. Chase and Zahara are smoking hot together but there are also sweet and tender moments. Zahara is such a great character - independent, badass stuntwoman, but vulnerable as well after a difficult childhood. Chase is an up and coming movie actor, but so down to earth and such a family man with his mom and sisters, and ultimately Zahara as well. I highly recommend this book and all others in the series.

3.5 stars - I really have enjoyed the books and characters in this series so I was super excited to find I hadn’t read this one yet.

I really loved reading about all the stunts from the female’s perspective and I really like Zahara. I loved that she was strong and didn’t want to depend on a man for anything. I also like Chase though his need to help Lila did annoy me.

It was a good book that kept me ready. I didn’t love the ending and felt that Zahara relented a bit too easy but overall I enjoyed it.
