I am continuing to review my Buddhist collection and trying to decide which books to keep and which ones should go into the “charity shop” box, and I have decided that this slim one is a keeper.
My ancient and peeling version is a bilingual edition in Thai language and English (not that the Thai pages would ever be of any use to me).

I found this very useful in the day, mostly to know and decide what volumes in the Canon to look for, and the re-read has been really fast. It contains a succinct explanation and summary of the organisation of the Theravada original scriptures (the Tipitaka) into the 49 volumes of the translation into Thai language, and despite the convoluted roundabout, it has helped in my journey, even though so far I have only ventured into the suttantapitaka, in and out, from modern sources.
Despite the author maintaining in the introduction that Buddhism is not a philosophy, but a religion, a position which is 100% opposed to my own, this volume will stay on the shelf for sure, as a reference, at least until the next desperate cull for lack of shelf space.
