A richly illustrated history of the Samoan Islands, particularly its relationship with the U.S., published to commemorate its 100th year under the American flag.
Very factual, and encompasses the history of Samoa very well, starting with times just before their contact with haoles. I found descriptions of tribal traditions to be fascinating and the book to be very well presented. I particularly admired the statement of the Samoan governor in the front because he mentioned the new opportunities for todays Samoan people because of American Samoa and I know people that are directly affected as he said, by getting a good education and having lots of opportunities that they otherwise would not have had. It was fascinating but very informational and is best read in small doses.
