Her partner, Deputy Jake Nolan, was a Feral having a psychic bond with an African lion, Clarence his Familiar, and can make use of the animal’s powers within himself. Yet despite using their magical powers to help keep people safe, they become a target of a hate group of bigots, which looked to be motivated by jealousy and envy. As if the hatred alone is not enough, both of them are then in danger from a magical assassin hired by the plotters to kill them both.
But despite having to keep an eye out for the assassin, the two of them find time to fall in love. But even love has negative consequences when it causes Jake to lose some of his self-control as the lion part of him gets overly possessive and protective of Erica, considering her a member of his pride. Will they have to give up their relationship to concentrate on the hate group’s attacks? Can they find out who is behind this and bring it to an end?

Action and Magic
From bigots to bad guys, both magical and non-magical, Erika and Jake have a lot of work ahead of them, both in protecting their city and forging their relationship. I loved all the action in this story, both between the sheets and in the sheets. Another fantastic Arcane story, and I really hope Dave gets a girlfriend!

I have loved this author's books for many years! I truly enjoyed this book and feel that it is an amazing read! I love the sexy and engaging story and I am looking forward to read more new to me stories! I Loved every Page!!!

Just great!
Enjoyable, exciting romp with familiar characters in this new series. I really like this new world of Ferals and witches. Good story too.

Too much sex and too dark for my tastes lately. I read to escape and this book had a lot of hate crimes in it. Felt too much like reality in spite of the fantasy elements.

A great read. I wish a book could be done on Dave....somehow getting his human back.
