Dear Aggie, there’s this guy I find impossibly sexy, and when I’m with him I forget everything. I know that anything we share will be short-term. I’m worried a relationship will end in pain. What should I do? Yours, Light-headed.
They couldn’t be more different. She’s a behaviour psychologist who has a successful advice column on dating and relationships and he’s a successful divorce lawyer who doesn’t think relationships last. Both think they know how relationships should work and how it’s not for them, until they meet…
He loved the way her eyes lit up. He loved the tiny dimple that flickered at the corner of her mouth. He loved the way her hair whipped across her back when she ran. He loved the way she ran like she owned the park. He loved the way she loved her dog—
He was definitely in trouble.
I loved Daniel and how determined he was to get Molly’s attention. He was so intrigued by her when he saw her running with her dog in Central Park, he even borrowed a dog in order to get a chance to speak with her. And no matter how many times she refused him he kept being persistent. It was very sexy ;-). I loved his confidence and how he was with Brutus, the German Shepherd he borrowed from his sisters’ dog walking business. And I liked how much his job meant to him, how he did it to help and not because of the money.
She’d built walls and barriers that no one could pass, but she was sure that this man with the dangerous blue eyes and the sexy voice was used to finding his way around barriers. She felt breathless and swimmy-headed, and she wasn’t used to feeling that way.
I loved Molly and how much she loved her dog, Valentine. She’s an expert at giving advice to others about their relationships, but personally she finds herself very bad at it. I loved that she was the reluctant one and Daniel the pursuer of their relationship.
He framed her face with his hands, forcing her to look at him. “You’re enough for me. Everything you are, the person you are—” he lowered his forehead to hers, holding her gaze “—you’re more than enough. You’re everything.”
I loved their romance, their flirting and what big friends Brutus and Valentine became, it was so sweet. I loved how different they seemed professionally but how similar they were personally. Both are a bit scarred by their childhoods, thinking that commitment and relationships weren’t for them. I loved the intense chemistry between them and that their romance was a slow build, both falling in love gradually without even realising it.
“You should never be afraid to be you. Flaws, faults, weaknesses—that’s what makes us human.”
I love this author’s contemporary romances, how much depth there are to her books. It isn’t just great romance but also full of emotions and character depth. She doesn’t just write wonderful main characters, but also great secondary characters. Daniel’s twin sisters, Fliss and Harry are amazing, identical in looks but total opposites personality wise and I can’t wait to read their books.
If you love your romances to have that close family, or small town feeling, with great characters and wonderful sweet romance, then you can’t go wrong with this author. Highly recommended.
