"This is not a book of outrageous stories about supernatural abilities you do not possess. This is a book of outrageous stories about natural abilities all humans possess." From the Author's "My Promise to You"
You already share a deep, loving bond with your animal. But what if you could enrich that bond even more? What if you could also listen -- and truly understand? What if your cat could reveal his mischievous secrets (not that he would) and your dog could tell you about her day? What if you could assure her you'd be back soon or assuage her fear of a visit to the vet? Would you like to know how to help her stop biting? Would you like to know why your show horse has stopped jumping? Would you like to know if your iguana is in pain? What if, when the time comes, you could say good-bye heart to heart?
You can. Amelia Kinkade, professional interspecies communicator, will show you how. In Straight from the Horse's Mouth , she shares the program she developed that has helped hundreds of her clients break through the only barrier that really separates people from any other skepticism. Using guided meditations and other exercises in this book designed to increase intuition, you can literally learn to "talk with the animals," share memories and make plans, negotiate house rules or mediate sibling rivalries, diagnose illness, track a disappearance, accept one another's differences, and find each other again. Read Amelia Kinkade's adventures in animal communication in all their hilarity, passion, and tenderness, and know that you can join her.
Practice her exercises, and you will. Hear the chorus of troubled and endangered species, and learn what you can do to help. There will be no stopping the conversation.
Let Straight from the Horse's Mouth -- as practical as it is inspiring -- be your guide to better interspecies relationships, and it will change your life and your animal companions' lives too. That's our promise to you.
I discovered this book in 2004, after our kitty passed away in her second decade. I needed to know other people are aware animals are sentient like we are; that the expression about being "voiceless" is inaccurate. I always knew they understand everything we say and that they're answering to us too. But I was thunderstruck to discover that all of this is provable! People were indeed the ones who weren't understanding, when animals spoke. The inferior communicator wasn't them. And we can learn to understand what they are saying! It changed my life and was all the proof I will ever need, that my beliefs and inklings were right!
I hadn’t heard of Amelia Kinkade or the surreal practice of “animal communication”. She happens to be Rue McClanahan’s niece. She spins narrow-minded perception, the human illusion of superiority, on its head. The question of whether other mammals and every other animal speaks, reasons, and has opinions are the chief reason for presuming inferiority and disposability. Imagine how many fewer would be eaten or killed for being homeless, if you witnessed or held for yourself a two-way conversation with them! Their lives depend on us having this information.
I hope Amelia teaches in Canada. She addresses the soul of loving animals as family; revealing that they do think of us as “Mom & Dad”! Their answer to everyone’s most poignant question: “Do they know how much we love them?”.... is an easy YES! Tears streamed, when she described what it was like the moment her cat crossed over, of natural causes. I rejoiced at finding this book. It refreshed my grieving soul. I need it again in 2014. Unfortunately one sweet cat son, is gone twenty years too soon. I’ll try to take heart that our connection is still here.
Amelia has a funny and easygoing writing style. I really liked all of the exercises and meditations in the book and was amazed and touched by many of her anecdotes. I definitely feel confident in learning to communicate with animals after reading her book.
I wish I had read before losing our cat to a coyote attack and knowing what to do to prevent it. The story telling and her style of writing is a delight. She has a gift with animals and shares with us on how to enhance our ability as well.
As with her book The Language of Miracles, I found her understanding and explanation of spiritual things just as deep and enjoyable as her knowledge of animal communication.
