Always wanted to read epics. But didn't want to get into too much details. Children's version of "The Odyssey" was perfect for me.
To the story, yup... regardless of how talented and skilled one might be arrogance has strange ways of letting people down and this story is a good reminder of that. Fortunately there are many people who are very down to earth despite their achievements. I look upto them and hopefully those qualities rub into me.
Instead of having such cautionary tales that lasted through eons, I wish we had more examples of "wow! that is a nice way to lead life".

Having studied this story in Latin GCSE I appreciate the effort of making this a story suitable for children to understand.
It is simply a very long and very confusing epic! To be able to shorten and simplify this tale to make it child appropriate is a feat this book does well.
Given its complex nature, I have put off reading Greek Mythology for a long time now, BUT this gorgeously simplified picture-book definitely helped me to make a start.
