This book discusses adding text to quilting projects and many templates are provided. Readers will enjoy the range of projects/templates, but some readers may not appreciate the large expectation of applique. It would have been interesting to see other ways to incorporate text besides applique--one project did use hexagons, which added interest. Overall, projects are bright and modern, and there are several wall hangings.

For: quilters looking for a book that mixes modern with traditional techniques.

Possible red flags: heavy use of applique.
