I am doing family history work on some people that are Japanese so I picked up this book at our Roy library. This book is very elemental as I only wanted to get some simple, overall concepts about Japan like its customs and history. One thng I had never known was that they have a lot of mountains, which makes sense since they are lslands which came out of the sea with volcanic eruptions.
They do have a history of earthquakes and I knew that from my science teaching on earth science. There are a lot of special things from there including sumo wrestlers and the art of paper folding called origami.
I enjoyed this.

I like that this book included information about soccer and more information about Japanese activities was interesting. It was cool to see different interesting things like Del Piero visiting Japan, or the inclusion of the Nintendo DS in it. I learned a lot.

Very informative and organized. I really like the designs and pictures. Overall, the entire book is perfect for teaching young children everything beginners should know about Japan.
