Lies In Ink & Whiskey was my first read by Leaona Luxx and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very well written and told in a dual point of view. There was a nice pace to it and definitely some twists and turns that you won’t be expecting. It was a steamy slow burn romance that had me captivated from beginning to end.

The story begins with Maisyn, who has just escaped an abusive relationship. Because of her history with men, she has sworn off relationships. Instead she is focused on her career as a tattoo artist. At least until she meets Lachlan, the wealthy businessman who enters her shop. The attraction between them is instant, but they both have their reasons to try and fight it. Ultimately though, they just can’t stay away from each other. The chemistry between them is smoking hot and will leave you yearning for more. My only complaint is that it ends in one crazy cliffhanger. Thankfully we don’t have to wait long for book two in this duet. I can’t wait to see how all of this comes to an end.

Wow! I didn't see that ending coming. This was my first listen by Leaona Luxx. What a great way to start. Loved Maisyn & Lachlan's story. Maisyn is one tough chick! My kind of heroine. Already started book 2, Whiskey Rebellion. Excellent narration by Kelli Lindsay & Jarman Day. They were both new to me narrators & they totally delivered!

Ha Lochness meets his match. The man is unabashedly single and makes no secret of it. . . until. . . Well hell she aint much better, doesn't think she deserves better than she's had, which means less than garbage. These two want each other desperately, everyone knows it but them. But life and this author wont be taken out of the picture easily. It isn't just a story about their individual insecurities and strengths though nope can't be that simple. No siree. They have to battle against outside forces to so this is going to be a great battle with the friends they have. You know the gang and their one big family so things are about to get real. Wonder how much whiskey I will need with the next book.

Ha this one isn't a standalone but that's ok cos as good as it was til the end I can't freaking wait for more. This author is awesome and so is this community of friends, (hell One is a town all on his own). Love the characters she has introduced us to more with each book. Can't wait to finish this one off.

Maisyn is not lucky in love and stays too long with her last boyfriend who uses her as a punching bag. That's it! She decides that her happiness is not with men and focuses on her career and her daughters.

Lachlan lives his life like rich single men do. Every night a different woman by his arm. Until he meets Maisyn and is sold from that moment on. Maisyn's mistrust means that he calmly builds up the relationship and thus gains her trust. Until his twin brother shows up...
Maisyn is not sure who has captured her heart. Was this Lennox or Lachlan?

Oh, what a bizarre twist in the story!
An open ending to the story makes you really want to read the sequel!

Victim of 💘Love and All The Lies💔

Healing The Wounds🔪💔 That Can't Be Seen.

Maisyn💃💋⭐❇ is a victim of domestic abuse💪👊. Bruised👊, battered💪, and cut, she finally realizes she's had enough💔 and goes to stay with her best friend Flynn and his boyfriend. She's been very unlucky at love💔, so she decides to give up on even trying. She lies to her parents , she lies to Flynn and Malcolm, she lies to herself. Over a five year period with Her abuser Derick👹, Her self esteem is down to about Zero.
Amazingly, she has been able to start and run Steele Ink❇⭐, a successful tattoo parlour!

Lachlan Daly🐺🍆🌋 has had to come in and take over his father's whiskey company, O'Daly Craft Whiskey. His younger brother, Lennox, a womanizing playboy, almost put the company in bankruptcy. Lachlan🐺🍆🌋 manages to get it back on track, but he's alienated his brother in the process, and a board wants to take it over, now. Over his dead💀body!

The sexual innuendos fly fast and furious when Maisyn💃💋❇⭐, Flynn, and Lachlan🐺🍆🌋 meet at Steele Ink⭐❇ and Lachlan🐺🍆🌋 realizes she's the gorgeous gal he's been crushing on that hangs around with One's nieces.

Flynn knows One too, so I don't get why Maisyn💃💋⭐❇ didn't at least meet Lachlan🐺🍆🌋 once at some point.
Oh well, that would mess up the instant lust feeling that Lachlan🐺🍆🌋 gets when he sees her at her tattoo⭐❇ parlor.

Lachlan🐺🍆🌋 is at Steele Ink⭐❇ with One to get some ink he has fixed, and to get some new ink.
One sees the look in Lachlan's eyes when he looks at Maisyn💃💋⭐❇, and since he knows what a womanizer Lachlan🐺🍆🌋 is, he tells him she is too young for him, she's off limits, she's had a rough time, and He's to stay away from her!

Lachlan🐺🍆🌋 just can't do it. Everything about Maisyn💃💋⭐❇ mesmerizes him! He wants her so bad! They were made for each other!

I do have a problem with a couple of the characters in this book. The Author writes about One And his wife Lea, as if we should already know them! No introduction given. That threw me.

Other than that, I loved the book📑! It's sweet🍬, it's cute, it's funny, but it's heartbreakingly💔 sad at times.

I absolutely loved this book. Lachlan was the ultimate in swoon-worthy book bookfriends. He's known as a player, but he's also a serious business man with a huge heart and when he meets Maisyn, he's knocked off his feet. His player ways are quickly forgotten, although Maisyn is a tough woman to convince.

Maisyn has been through hell and back and is just getting out of a toxic and abusive long-term relationship. Lachlan couldn't be more of a knight in shining armour if he tried, but Maisyn doesn't believe that she's worth saving. She definitely feels she's not worthy of Lachlan's love.

This book was an emotional roller coaster, with some twists I did not see coming, but that kept me hanging on for dear life. When I got to the end, I was so absorbed in the story and blown away by the last twist, that I didn't realize the book was done. My jaw was literally hanging open like a cartoon character.

Huge cliffhanger, the second book is coming soon. I cannot wait to find out the end of this story. By the end of the book I wasn't sure who to trust anymore...I guess I'll wait and see.

Very sweet and emotional romance with suspense, grit and the hope for a happily ever after in book 2. SO GOOD!

The cover immediately caught my eye. So sexy! When I read the blurb I knew it was something I HAD to read and I’m thankful I did.

This was my very first experience with Leaona Luxx’s writing and I totally enjoyed her characters and their story.

Maisyn was a strong female and like most women, she struggled with accepting her self-worth because of her past relationship choices. The last thing she needed was another guy in her life. But Lachlan isn’t just any guy. Smitten from the very first time he saw her, he pursued her at a quick pace. Her in his life filled all the holes he didn’t know needed filling. Her spirit, feistiness and sass only drove him more crazy.

What I loved about this story as what I’ve seen in a few others was that though the chemistry and connections were intense and instant...the timeline for the character’s relationship still went at a pace that they took the time to get to know each other before jumping into bed. That slow build of sparks between them just intensified my enjoyed and experience with the story. I was hooked and now I wait with baited breath until the next part of their story is released.

I can not say enough good things about this book. Leaona has hit it out of the park. I couldn’t get enough of Maisyn and Lachlan.
Maisyn and Lachlan’s is a story about two lost souls finding their home in each other. They are both broken but somehow manage to complete each other.
Maisyn is an amazing leading lady. She has more strength and worth than she gives herself credit for.
Lachlan is a strong alpha make in the best way possible. He has a huge heart with tons of love to give if he could just figure out how to open up his heart.
The two fight their attraction at first but through some adversity the come together . The two have lots of help via her gay best friend Flynn. Everyone needs a friend like Flynn.
In typical Leaona fashion you know things aren’t going to be that easy enter the drama.
This is the first book in a duet. Read this you won’t be sorry.

Maisyn has been hurt physically and mentally in her past. When she meets Lachlan her trust was at an all time low. She was always quick to believe the worst. Lachlan fell hard and fast for Maisyn. there is a year age difference and she is a very good friend of his best friend One. He tries to stay away but eventually gives into his feelings. He does most things right except keeping secrets. He is a possessive alpha with a heart of gold. I did enjoy the story even though I had some issues. The story did not flow as well as it should. The characters would say or do something and then then next scene act like it never happened. Things would pop up out of no where. The banter was off. It got a little confusing as to who was speaking. It does end in a cliffhanger so now I am vested to find out how they get their HEA.

Maisyn has just gotten out of an abusive relationship. She finally made the decision after three years, two of which she was abused, that it was finally time to leave. With the help of her friends, she is able to get back on her own two feet. But she is determined to never love again.

Lachlan is a successful business owner. He is more focused on making and keeping his business successful. Dating and leaving is his focus when it comes to women. Until he see Maisyn. Even before he actually meets her, when he first sees her, there is just something about her that touches his heart.

The book is full of love and uncertainty. But it is so worth the read. Looking forward to the next book. Actually rushing the time until the next book. - I received an arc for an honest review.

This book ended in a cliffhanger I wasn't prepared for and it threw me off. I did enjoy the book but the way and how it ended with Lachlan & Maisyn I didn't like it.
First, how could Maisyn not know who she was with, that was stretching it thin for me. Her girls knew when something wasn't right & she was with him...didnt make sense to me.
I did like Lachlan & how he didn't give up, loving and caring for her and the girls. Her stubbornness irked me as it was a bit much at times.
It was a good read with a build up between them and some steam. It did end in a doozy of a cliffhanger & I do want to read how it all works out, more so for Lachlan and the girls and hopefully to see Maisyn get her head straight & realize that he's worth it and more.

I loved Leoana's books since the first page of Cherry Grove and this book is no different apart from she's gone rogue on us with an epic cliffhanger. What are you doing to me woman, I'm pulling my hair out waiting in suspense.

Lachlan & Maisyn OMG their chemistry is nuclear. They're both hot messes in one way or another. Lachlan loves hard, once he knows what he wants.
Maisyn guards her heart, thanks to her past.
But is all what it seems?
Is LOVE going to be enough?
Or is it just too late?

Bring on the Whiskey chaser

What!!!!! OMG No!!!! Just finished this awesome book on a hell of a cliffhanger. Not a big fan of cliffhangers and this one is a Doozy. I had a little inkling of what was going on here as I was reading (no spoilers). I need more of Maisyn and Lachlan now. This is one heck of a book hangover for me.

Maisyn you rock.
Where can I get a Flynn.

I am counting down the days for Whiskey Rebellion.

What just happened?

Honestly the idea behind the plot was great and what made me want to read this book, but the plot was so hard to follow. I found myself not understanding what was going on half the time because the characters and their backgrounds were never well developed.

Terrific Story & Narration🎧 Captivating & Intense!
Lies in Ink and Whiskey
Redemption Highway, Book 7 (The Dalys, Book 1)
By: Leaona Luxx
Narrated by: Kelli Lindsay, Jarman Day

Wow, this book draws you right in, the story is fast moving and captivating from start to end. Leaona Luxx is a gifted author, I enjoy her writing style and the characters and storylines she creates. Maisyn, the lead female has not had the best luck with the men in her life, she gets herself out of a bad relationship and away from her abusive ex-boyfriend. Though he does not get the message right away. A tattoo artist and mother of two darling daughters is struggling to make ends meet as he gets her new business off ground. She has good friends and support staff, I adored her bestie Flynn he is aces. Lachlan Daly has been working hard at getting the family business out of the red and back into the black. His brother Lennox should be at the helm but he has issues and is not doing what he is supposed to do. The two do not get along or see eye to eye. Lachlan rather be doing his own thing but he is always doing what is best for others in this case the family business. Wanting to get some work done on his ink his friend, One, refers him to Maisyn, a friend of his sister. His referral came with a warning, that she is off limits. But realizing she is the one who spiked his interest he knows that is not going to be easy to do. I loved the chemistry between these two, since she is not interested in getting involved with another man and he trying to maintain an image for the company’s Board of Directors, they fight the attraction. But they can deny each other for so long. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is cleverly plotted and there is never a dull moment. There is plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, heartfelt and emotional moments and some hot romance. I loved how great Lachlan was with her girls, Hope and Faith. Leaona Luxx, thank you for another great story, the emotional rollercoaster ride and the mind-blowing ending. I am looking forward to what comes next in this amazing series.

🎧📚🎧And for the terrific narration, Kelli Lindsay and Jarman Day are talented narrators and voice artists. They did a great job portraying the characters, humanizing them, giving each their own voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. Kelli Lindsay’s take on Maisyn was perfection and Jarman Day did the same for Lachlan, they made the roles their own. Both were great performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen🎧

Lies in Ink and Whiskey
Redemption Highway, Book 7 (The Dalys, Book 1)
By: Leaona Luxx
Narrated by: Kelli Lindsay, Jarman Day

Maisyn is starting over. Leaving her husband and finding her new path is first and foremost on her mind. She is starting her own business, getting her kids settled and doesn't have time for men. Then Lachlan Daly walks into her life. There is something about this man that intrigues her. Good looking, successful and unworthy, Lachlan has no intention of getting involved with her. Until he does. And now Leona Luxx has me completely invested in this couple. I am hooked. Maisyn is independent and I love her intentions. While slightly standoffish, I love the push pull between both Lach and Maisyn. Lachlan is in denial and it's so refreshing as we watch him battle his feelings. And just when I think life is going to be amazing, Luxx throws the most incredible curve ball! It's surprising and a cliffhanger, so I hope the next audiobook is going to come out soon! I need to know where this is going!

Casting is so important in audio, and it's perfect! Kelli Lindsay is Maisyn and she brings out all the emotions she has. As she starts over, there is a variety of feelings, and then we add in Lach, and Lindsay grabs them all and lays them out for us. Jarman Day is fantastic! I love his voice as he struggles with his feelings. He truly brings out Lach's heart. And his Scottish accent is amazing! They are both new to me, and it's a pleasure to listen to them.

This story was an okay read for me. There were things I liked and disliked about this story. In the beginning of the story, I felt as if the author didn't give me enough time to get to know and connect with the characters because the interactions between them were fast paced. Then there were times where I had to remind myself that I was reading a story with adults as their actions were childish at times. I got tired of Maisyn sticking her tongue out at people and her children seemed more mature than her. Lachlan played more games than I cared for when it came to Maisyn. There were times where his actions and decisions we made without a care to what she needed, and more of what he wanted. With that being said, I liked Maisyn and Lachlan's characters at times. I wish the connection between them was more believable for me. I enjoyed Maisyn's relationships with Flynn and Malcom and her parents. Maisyn and Lachlan's story is one that dealt with abuse, had surprises, secrets, regrets, betrayal, steamy scenes and laughs with an ending that left me wanting to know the answer to what Maisyn said. Yes, this story has a cliffhanger ending, and I want to read the next book just to get the answer. I would have loved this book more if I believed in the love between the two main characters but there were just too many games with them to believe the love.

Ink and whiskey have a way of making the truth come out.

I get why Maisyn was reluctant to get close to Lachlan with her string of bad relationships, but I thought Lachlan's reasons were weak at best. The hot and cold attitude attitude to instalove also gave me whiplash. And the drama with the brother was just ick. I also felt like this book needed a bit more editing. Overall this book was not for me.

Maisyn and Lachlan meet via a mutual friend when he wants some new ink. One is his best friend and like a surrogate Dad to Maisyn sometimes. He warns Lachlan to stay away but the invisible pull toward Maisyn is strong. He knows she deserves someone who can give her all her dreams and she lets her self doubt convince her she isn't good enough. Both are waging internal battles that if they win may bring the happiness they both want but if they lose could destroy them forever.

This is just my second Leaona Luxx book and I am so glad I found her work. She writes real and raw emotions. Love the support system Maisyn has with her friends and family. She has made some bad choices but they prove to her everyday that they love her no matter what. Lachlan is dealing with corporate drama that includes some family but he is basically a good guy. Just a bit over the top in his efforts to help. This is a great duet so far and can't wait to jump into book 2.

This is book one in The Daly's series and it is Lachlan and Maisyn's story and omg it is definitely a must read. Maisyn has sworn off men but when Lachlan comes into the tattoo shop could things change of get even more complicated in her life. Maisyn has been through so much after getting out of a abusive relationship and now determined to get on with her life and career without any men complicating everything as she is now unable to trust her own instincts where men are concerned. Lachlan walks into the tattoo shop and he is taken back by his reaction to Maisyn as he doesn't do relationships or commitments but he still wants to get to know her. Omg the chemistry between them was off the charts hot and intense that you could feel it sizzling of the pages of this book and I couldn't put it down as it kept my attention throughout the whole book and what a explosive cliff hanger ending and I can't wait to read the next book.
