Parker Minelli, a fitness trainer and cover model, is every woman's dream. His Boston accent, chiseled abs and easy-going nature have women flocking to him. But when he meets author Abby, whose brains are bigger than his biceps, he sets out to prove that he's more than just a pretty face. Abby is thrilled—and a little breathless—when Parker agrees to work with her on her next book release. However, they soon discover that while opposites may attract, that doesn't mean that they can overcome their differences. Especially when Parker's supermodel ex-girlfriend reappears. Will they be able to see the big picture and accept each other as they are, or will their differences close the book on their chance at love?
Alexis Alvarez writes romances - some are light-hearted contemporary romances; others delve into the exotic world of domination and submission.
Her female heroines are strong-willed women who are never push-overs, and who can hold their own in society and the workplace, but who are intrigued with the idea of kink and submission in the bedroom. Alexis writes with skill and poetry, creating worlds that are both dark and erotic and, at times, humorous and light.
Alexis is a writer, photographer, gourmet cook, former engineer, and mom. She likes other things besides BDSM fiction, and some of them include snorkeling, lemon bars, thunderstorms, and laughing so hard with her sisters and brother that her stomach hurts.
You can find Alexis at the website she shares with her two real-life sisters, who are also romance writers: www.graffitifiction.com
Okay so we are all, ALL, guilty of it at some point. Objectify the models on book covers, people on the street, photos on Facebook . or Instagram. We all do it. Wrapped up in the fantasy our minds create for this particular dream boat.
You can kid yourself, but you can't lie to me. Personally, I think this story just fuels the fire of want and desire.
Abby the author vs. "Boston" the model
Who will win in the verbal, sensual, teasing smack down? Who will get the other strumming with desire? Which one will rule the bedroom?
I read a book earlier this year that focused on an author love story. It made me hopeful. But this book, holy Hell! It's sinfully steamy, teases your body, and leaves you breathless with unfulfilled longing. Oh yeah, and the chemistry, yikes....
Did you ever wonder about authors and cover models? I didn't before but now I can't stop myself. As bad as it is, we all have a favorite, and now imagining that model getting frisky with the author, acting out the scenes, well that adds a whole new level of hot!
My hormones were raging and I can definitely say, I would have caved like a house of cards if Boston even looked my way. So live your fantasy out with the hot cover model and pretend to be the author in this book. Both have moves you didn't see coming...
oh and I forgot to mention...squee! The cover of this book, yeah drool worthy. I do wish that there would be a sneak peek of the cover from the book though....maybe a calendar of the shots they talk about...would probably sell the book for ten times the price!
The story starts off strong. Abby who is a best selling author has an idea to put photos with her words. She contacts Parker Minelli, aka Boston, to co-produce her idea of "Sexy photos of a handsome, ripped man and the heroine, photos that would directly mimic some of the sultrier passages of the book." Sign me up! This would make for an interesting read.
The story centers around two mismatched souls that are driven by their insecurities. Abby and Boston can't seem to move past their feelings of inadequacy. They both feel unworthy of each other. The struggle is well written and it's easy to empathize with both characters. However, midway into the story something changes, Abby's reactions are more catty and immature. Boston's actions are no better. The ending was short and sweet but as a reader I wasn't able to reconnect with Abby. 3 Stars.
My first read by this author, and one of her first books. I was really pleasantly surprised by this. There's a few issues with pacing IMO, but overall a very enjoyable read. Will definitely check out more by this author.
Okay, the first thing I always notice are the book covers and that's one of the first things that attracts me to the book. If I like the book cover, then I go on to read the synopsis and from there I decide if I want read the book or not, I am so guilty of this, but I'm sure a lot of us are!
Well Parker, a.k.a., Boston was one sexy, smart, suave guy who was also a model. Abby seeked him to be the model of her book cover and from then on....things just got a little heated between Abby and Boston.
I loved how they flirted and teased each other, I thought that was freaking awesome. I never expected Abby to be that flirtatious, but damn she really blew me away with how she talked to Boston. I thought she would only have guts to express herself in her books, I never thought she would actually give Boston a visual of what she was writing and it made me blush how they would flirt with each other.
Abby was not a very confident girl and didn't think she was good enough for Boston. He was perfection, he was beautiful and he belonged only with models. Why would he bother with a simple girl like Abby? But Abby wasn't just any simple girl, she was beautiful as well, she just didn't feel it because she wasn't thin like a model. But all models are not beautiful and the really skinny ones are not beautiful, they look sick to me actually.
Boston didn't think he was good enough for Abby because she was smart, had a degree from Harvard and used to date a guy that was just like her and he never thought that he could compete with that.
So these two were constantly back and forth and instead of just telling each other how they felt, they were skirting around each other until it got to the point where things got out of hand and they were just assuming instead of talking about it.
This book was freaking fantastic! I absolutely loved Abby and Boston. They weren't that much different from each other. They were both smart and beautiful. One with a degree and one without but that still didn't mean that he wasn't an intelligent person and my god, I could just imagine what he looked like in a suit. If he already was HOT wearing regular clothes, I could imagine with a suit (yummy)!
This book definitely made me stay up all night!
This is the first book I read from this author and she sure didn't disappoint me. I am definitely going to continue reading her books because I absolutely adored this book!
4.5 stars!

I absolutely adored this book. From Beginning to end I was fascinated by the relationship between Abby and Boston and wondering if this had ever happened between authors and models/photographers. It would be great if it had..
Anyway...
The chemistry and tension between Abby and Boston throughout this book sizzled with electricity and when they finally came together...holy shit it was HOT!!!! It was like a fire had engulfed my body.
I loved the story and the characters, and although this was my first book from Alexis, I can definitely say it won't be my last.
Her writing was beautiful as well as poetic and everything just drew me in.
I can't wait to see what else this author has to offer.
I received an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
I LOVED this book! It was humorous, hot, real, and raw. I experienced so many emotions. I laughed, cried, wanted, and loved right along with Abby. The chemistry between Abby and Parker (aka Boston) was explosive. All the flirting and teasing had me begging for more. I don't know how Abby held back! I liked their first in-person meeting and that Abby didn't just swoon all over him. She did well trying to keep it professional no matter what the circumstances. Well for the most part. ;)
I love a cocky, bad boy just as much as the next girl, but it was so great to see some emotion from Parker. Even when he was being flirty and demanding, Abby could see the uncertainty in his eyes. It was as if he didn’t think she would accept him or that he wasn’t good enough for her. My only wish was that I had Parker's POV.
Then there was the internal struggle that Abby experiences. She’s surrounded by beautiful people; who wouldn’t question their appearance? I know that struggle intimately. It doesn’t matter what size you are; there will always be a grain of doubt floating around in the back of your mind – Do I measure up? Am I pretty or thin enough? It took me a long time and a husband who loves me no matter what to snap me out of that. And that’s what Abby gets from Parker. The emotions were so tangible! I was having a hard time holding back tears from the self-loathing Abby felt, always worried about how she looks to someone so fit and surrounded by models.
I also loved all of the secondary characters. They added so much to the book in terms of friendship and reality checks. You can see a change in Parker and Abby based on these interactions. After all, what are friends for? I really hope we get to see more of them in future books! Maybe a series? ;)
I really liked the cover and blurb for this one, an author and a hot cover model? What is not to like?
Abby is a bestselling author and comes up with a new concept of a picture story book but needs a hot model to participate in the initiative with her. Enter Parker Minelli, a renowned cover model and fitness trainer. Once they meet Abby is stunned by how hot this guy is in the flesh and she tries hard to keep her deep attraction to the guy secret, after all how could she ever stand a chance with this gorgeous man.? Yes Abby has a lack of confidence and body issues, but when surrounded by ultra fit models how could she not?
Parker who Abby nicknames Boston due to his accent, has his own issues and feels inadequate in the intellect department in relation to smart Abby and her extra smart ex-boyfriend who also happens to be her lawyer setting up the contract for their new business enterprise.
The reader is therefore taken on an angst but entertaining journey. This is mainly with the pair getting to know each other, fighting their attraction, flirting and eventually working through their insecurities to do something about this ‘thing’ between them.
This was an enjoyable if a little frustrating read, mainly due to the romance dance of back and forth between them. It was one of those stories where you are shouting at the kindle ‘Just talk to each other for goodness sake!’ But eventually they do and it was a delightful HEA we ended on.
A great storyline with good characters, especially Boston as Abby took a bit longer to get to like. Overall an enjoyable and sexy read. Four stars.

"I want him to want me even when I am compared to everyone else. I want him to want me so badly that it doesn't matter if the entire Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition is prancing around naked."
5 Boston accent stars!!! Dirty hot!
Parker is a fitness trainer and part time model, and he knows darn well the object of most women's fantasies. He could have any woman he wants, but when he meets Abby he knows there may be a challenge. Abby is an author and asks Parker to work with her for her next book. While these two start out as business partners, neither can deny the attraction they feel for each other, but they are complete opposites... then throw in a disgruntled ex-girlfriend and well you can guess where this is going to go.
Wow.... this book was so much more than I ever thought it was going to be!!! I loved every single page, and it starts out with a bang... literally!!! I was obsessed the minute I started reading and I couldn't put it down!! This is the first book I've read by Alexis, but it won't be the last... that's for sure!

I loved this book. I could not put it down. The sizzling chemistry between these two complex characters and well-developed secondary characters was on point. The writing was precise and beautiful, like a perfect quilt of emotion.
I couldn't have read this book at a better time. The main characters have strong feelings for each other despite having very seemingly different lives- one as a model that grew up in a not-so-great area of Boston and the other as a best-selling Harvard-educated author. Each is not confident in a piece of themselves.
I have had very similar struggles to Abby with self-confidence in my body and own beauty and worth. Each of us is beautiful and unique in our own way with our own beautiful gifts to offer to others and this planet, if we can only have the confidence to show it.
5 deep but fun and sexy stars. This is the first book that I've read by this author, and it certainly won't be the last.
Alexis Alvarez really has a way with words. It's rare to read a romance novel that has so many poetic elements to it: turns of phrases that make you reread the sentence, words used so perfectly they leave you breathless, descriptions that are completely unique and so wonderfully specific.
In addition to the flawless writing, this book is funny and tender and sexy in a perfect combination. It's about finding love, but also about finding yourself, and about realizing that the things that make us unique and wonderful are sometimes the things we take for granted.
Boston tells the story of two people who are, in many ways, opposites. Yet they're able to find the place where their worlds intersect and their hearts connect.
This is such a great book, one you won't regret reading. And one you'll never forget.
Boston explores the relationship of romance writer, Abby, and model/photographer Parker, in another witty and sexy read by Alexis Alvarez. The sexual tension sizzles between these two characters and despite the challenges thrown at their relationship, Alexis had me rooting for a happy ev-ah after. Now, what I'd really like to know is when can we read the book Abby was writing in this story? I want it! Well done, Alexis. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
I received this for an honest review.. I have to say I really enjoyed this book especially since this was the frist for from this author..
Parker and Abby were really good characters to read and the steam level off the freaking charts... This book from the the first to the end really had me enjoying their story...
Although this was a first for me with this author it will not be my last!!!
Boston is about Abby a best selling author and Parker aka Boston a photographer and cover model who work together on a book. The sexual tension during the shoots were so hot!! I loved this book!! Must read
So, I kind of wanted to hate this book. But it turns out, I devoured it in a few hours and am wondering what else I can read by Alexis Alvarez. I loved Abby as a character. She was 100% relateable. She makes similar mistakes to people in real life and had the same insecurities as many of us. And yet.... she still manages to live the dream! A successful writer with a super hot boyfriend. And learning to love herself a bit better in the process. This book was tons of fun and definitely a pick me up if you are having a bad day.
Woah! Ok, this is one sexy and well-written book. I loved how beautifully the narrative threads were woven together and how artfully the characters were created and developed; I really felt a sense of connection with them by the end, and was so emotionally invested in the outcome. And there were some properly steamy scenes, too. A fabulous read!
Whoa! I loved Abby and Boston's story so much, the intense feelings, Abby's emotionality, Boston and Abby's insecurities, just everything about them because it makes them seem so lifelike. Sometimes I wanted to shake them and knock some sense into them, though, and once or twice I may have yelled at them for their stubbornness too, LOL. This book is addictive and a page-turner for sure.
This was a very nice love story with lots of tension and misunderstandings. The actual sex scenes are much more mild than other books by Alexis Alvarez, but this story does need them. I have not read anything by this author that I didn't like.
Really enjoyed this story first of all because it's about a writer who happens to be a curvy woman and not a twig. The interaction between the two was sexy. Enjoyed watching the challenges that low self esteem brings to the story. Loved the changes Abby goes through, physically and emotionally.
The relationship between a romance author and her book boyfriend/cover model is revealed slowly and surely as Abby and Parker meet, work together and fall ever so quickly/slowly in love…
“Whatever we did or didn’t do, there’s something between us, and it’s growing stronger, little by little.”
From the start, there was that indefinable something brewing between these dedicated professionals. Parker is the stereotypical, gorgeous model with bad boy good looks but with much more behind those beautiful eyes. Abby is the quiet, not-as-confident author who believes in her self-worth but perhaps not as much as she could (or should).
Abby has a bit of a chip on her shoulder as they both enter into their professional gig but her pre-conceived notions about Parker are going to be worn way, when they aren’t being smashed to smithereens. Their path was rife with uncertainty, especially on Abby’s side and I could definitely see myself shouting encouragement in their ear at one time or another to ‘get their s***’ together and WORK THINGS OUT, gosh darn it! They worked, if only they could both see it…
Angsty and interesting, this story brought me a new author I will be keeping my eye out for.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! Having read so many books by Alexis Alvarez, I am always expecting scorching heat and a heart stopping battle of wills between the hero and heroine that culminates in a blinding passion and all consuming love. What I didn't expect was Boston to speak to me on such a personal level. Not only does Alexis introduce us intimately into the world of a quirky romance novelist and stunning fitness model, she shows us the depths of insecurities that a person can have and how much we might not understand what they are. She brings life to the old adage “until you walk a mile in another person's shoes” and a whole dimension of sexy to the romance writing world. Parker and Abby boil over with sexual tension, bring tears to your eyes with their sincerity and depths of feeling for one another, and create a slow burn inside the reader that threatens to consume!
Abby is an up and coming romance novelist with a brilliant idea that is sure to make her the next best selling author. The only problem is that it puts her in close proximity to the most yummy looking book cover model/photographer and his "gorgeous and perfect in every way" ex girlfriend each and every day. She finds herself fighting a throbbing need for Parker and an intense insecurity and jealousy against the lovely and beautiful ex. Abby is a kindred spirit that I liked from the moment she was introduced. I love her quirky sense of humor and quick wit, add in her spicy imagination and I couldn't help but love her. Alexis gave life to a character that resonates with many females who often feel like we can't live up to the “ideal perfect size woman” and let's us know that an intelligence and big heart can be just as sexy as perfect measurements.
Parker Minelli is a renowned health nut, fitness model, and now photographer that spends his days around beautiful woman in erotic poses. When the feisty and intelligent writer offers him a piece of the monetary pie in her new endeavor, he knows that he can't say no. What he doesn't expect is for his body and heart to want to say yes to this beautiful, intellectual woman who writes about smoldering passion and compromising positions. I couldn't help but fall for this buff, equally intelligent, muscled package of yumminess and his Boston accent. Parker is passionate about his work and is so much more than just a pretty face and well toned body.
Alexis Alvarez delivers a romance that not only brings the heat but has depth and crawls right into your soul and bares insecurities that everyone has. No matter how perfect or put together a person seems on the outside or how intelligent they are, we all compare ourselves to others and find ourselves lacking. Alexis's writing is passionate and profound and gives the reader so much more than sexy scenes. I highly recommend Boston for a romance that will light more than a spark of desire within the reader's heart. Parker and Abby bring us into the “romance world” and keeps us gasping for air, flushed, and in awe of their magic together!
Author and model romance that quite literally will have you thinking of not to judge a book by it’s cover.
Boston was my first book by Alexis Alvarez and I have to say I enjoyed the uniqueness of the book with the combination of an author and book model/photographer romance. I’ve read author/writer romance books before but never with a model, nor with such a unique plot. Trust me, you will be repeating that old familiar saying, after reading it quite literally, of not to judge a book by it’s cover and will have you thinking about every book cover you ever see and it’s author going forward.
Boston is told solely from the main female’s, Abby’s, perspective. Abby and Parker, aka Boston, have sizzling chemistry that brews up to boiling point throughout the book with steamy little teases that will have you flicking those pages. Initially, I liked all characters, especially Abby and Parker, as they were so real with real flaws, despite their jobs, but as the book evolved I went off Abby’s character if I’m truly honest; she just felt a bit immature at times and contradicted herself on several occasions that I just wanted to give her a slap to wake her up. Persevering, despite my dislike of Abby, I continued, and thankfully she resolved herself where it left me smiling that after everything they finally got a HEA.
The book was well written and set at a steady pace, allowing for the characters to be developed rather than just a book where they have an instant connection and end up happily-ever-after. The plot, as already stated, was refreshingly unique where you really didn’t feel like you knew exactly what would happen and the sub-characters used developed the two main characters further to show their various personality traits. If you are looking for steam, this book is full of it, but in a classy fun way. Boston can be read as a true standalone with Abby and Parker’s story completely tied up at the end with a HEA.
Overall, if you are looking for a unique and steamy contemporary book with an author romance, I would recommend this book.
*I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.
I absolutely loved this story. This is my first Alexis Alvarez book and I want more. She created real characters with insecurities, flaws and imperfections. She shows us that we are all different but share the same problems regarding our self esteem and self worth.
Parker is a cover model and photographer. He is the braun that women look for in the men they dream about.
Abby is an erotica author and turns to Parker aka Boston to co-create a book with photos of his incredible body to show her main hero character.
The two of them are the least likely of a couple. Different backgrounds, education and social groups. Oh yeah, and Abby is nothing like Boston's ex who it looks like he might not be over yet.
Boston is an easy going, no crazy drama story that will hold your attention to the very last page.
This is the first book that I have ever read by Alexis and it was quite impressed. I flippin loved every minute I spent reading this book and found it absolutely hard to put it down! There was lots of humor, angst, and hot sexy times too. Captivating from the beginning, the writing was flawless and the story flowed so well. And I loved the use of poetry in the book too. The story was about an erotic writer, Abby, and a fitness buff/model/photographer, Parker, aka Boston.
Abby was a best-selling author of erotica, Harvard graduate and former accountant. In her upcoming new novel, she planned to put photography in it. Enter Boston. Boston was selected as the muse for her new book. The only problem was that Abby found herself immediately drawn to Boston. The sexual tension between Addy and Boston would surface pretty early.
Boston was a self-made success. With a high school education, it was his natural good looks and hard physique that made him a natural for modeling. Yet his interest in photography and finding out he was talented, behind the camera as well as in front of it, is what lead him to starting a photography studio.
So as work began on Abby’s book she began to do her writing at the studio. While Abby would write Boston would be shooting photos for the book. It was kind of an ideal situation because they could collaborate on what was needed for the book.
The more time that Addy and Boston spent in the studio the more this sexual tension intensifies. The teasing and innuendo are hilarious and push the button. But along with this teasing real feelings begin to develop too. As the chemistry becomes more then they can handle an evening of passion and pure white hot lust takes over.
Boston is clearly a witty, funny and sexy story.
Will these two people from two different worlds find their way to a HEA?
Holy smoking Kindle Batman! Boston was deliciously dirty. The chemistry between Parker “Boston” Minelli and Abby is outrageous. The way that they teased and taunted each other, I could almost feel the sexual tension seeping out of the edges of my eReader. It was steamy, yummy and just what the doctor order to help me relax after a stressful week. But before you think it’s all fun and games, there are some definite feels here. Alexis Alvarez tackles some typical relationship issues with aplomb.
Boston and Abby are collaborating on a new idea for a novel, pairing his photographs with his words to create a unique product they are sure will blow readers’ minds. As they work together and get to know each other, their attraction grows but their differences also become glaringly apparent. Their insecurities are completely relatable. It makes their relationship issues seem real. This didn’t feel like one of those novels where you’re thinking “ugh they just need to #@$^ing talk to each other, this conflict is stupid.” While they did need to just talk to each other, I could definitely relate to why they didn’t. I could put myself in Abby’s shoes easily (and I would…I’d happily take a Boston any day, just don’t tell my husband).
This is one I’ll definitely be recommending to my friends. I think there’s a new book boyfriend in the mix people. One-click Boston today and introduce yourself to your newest obsession.

Boston by Alexis Alveraz begins with Abby, who is a best selling adult romance author. Abby has a idea of using pictures for her next book and wants to partner with Parker Minelli, photographer, fitness trainer and cover model. This new idea for the book and partnership seems perfect, what could go wrong?
Abby, has it all she is a best selling author, extremely educated, she is beautiful in her own way. Abby's problem is her insecurities that can become annoyingly frustrating. I really wanted to have a connection to this character. Every time I thought I had that connection, it slipped away by some of Abby's actions.
Parker Minelli, is a sexy character who caught me off guard a couple of times. He proved he is more than just a gorgeous cover model with his smarts. Parker ( Boston ) seems to have his life in order not only is he a cover model, he loves to share and talk about his knowledge for fitness and he has his studio apartment set up to where he works on his photography. Will working close with Abby bring out his insecurities?
I really do love the premise of Boston, romance author looking for a cover model to add pictures to capture moments in the story, that would really make for a interesting read. The main characters resisting each other lead to moments of feeling like I wanted to pull my hair out. I did find this story to be sexy, funny and some of the characters are great. Abby's actions and insecurities in the story may have overshadowed the story line. It is a sexy read!!! 3.5 Stars
